Should I Spend Donuts On the Monorail Cafe?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Once again new premium items have hit our Monorail stores!  This time a couple of new recycle and Monorail themed items have arrived via the donut spending route.  One particular Cafe isn’t really from Springfield, instead it’s from North Haverbrook.  Now I know you may be trying to decide if this is worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it!  We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Monorail Cafe to your Springfield? Well now that Act 3 is in full effect let’s take a look at the pros and cons of adding this Monorail honoring Cafe to your Springfield.

The Monorail Cafe Leaves Stores on September 15th..

Pros:
-Unique looking Cafe for your town.
-Ok priced, not great, but OK.
-Can be placed on Squidport, which is nice with the outdoor stool design

Cons:
-No characters interact with it
-No questline associated with it
-Doesn’t come with a character or skin, just a stand-alone building
-Yet another diner/cafe for Springfield

Final Thought:
Premium:
I’m kinda meh about this one.  The donut price doesn’t tip me over to grab it and it’s yet another Cafe/Diner for Springfield.  How many diners does one town need?  (this coming from the girl who lives in Jersey where there are diners on nearly every corner…) If it came with a skin or character tasks it might tip me over to grab it, but as it stands I’m not impressed.  This is one I’ll probably hold off on.

Freemium:
Not worth the donuts.  Pass on this one my freemium friends.  Save those 60 sprinkles for something better down the road…

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do, and personally I’ll be passing on this one.  However, this IS a limited-time item.  So if you’re thinking about getting it make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games (September 15th).

What are your thoughts on the Monorail Cafe?  Did you make the purchase? Why or why not?  Where have you placed it in Springfield?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Hi. I’m some major weirdness happening in my Springfield. I decided to blow up my town, I now regret it but oh well, now my town is creating duplicates of somethings. Like I have two of the same Monorail stations or two of the hippies recycling place. Do you think they will disappear with the next update?

  2. Meh! Just another diner/cafe for Springfield that shouldn’t be bought with Donuts! This should be a Friend Reward (it would make me want to visit my Neighboreenos)!

    Nice try EA!

  3. Hmm… still thinking

  4. Don’t think I’ll get it, but does the eat sign light up? That would look kinda cool, but haven’t seen it in neighbours’ towns so far. I keep getting kicked out of their towns, every other neighbour or so, so I don’t visit them as much any more. Hope that will soon get fixed!

    • The sign doesn’t light up, there are pictures of it in my town on the flickr page (linked top right on this page )

      🙂

      • Too bad… A flashy sign would have made it stand out just that bit more. Thanks!

      • It does light up! But only when that mysterious thing happens when everything in one section of town is activated. I’m guessing we have no other way of turning it on, since no character can visit. I believe the Simpson Laser Tag is also this way.

  5. “Go away. There ain’t no monorail and there never was!”

  6. Why consumerism rather than gluttony? I have 5 stars for everything except gluttony which keeps slipping back from 4 stars to 3 1/2 stars every time there’s a level update. It seems to be impossible to get gluttony up to 5 stars without either premium or multiple items.

  7. Consumerism points instead of gluttony? Gluttony is the only thing not at 5 stars in my town. Is there a list of items that provide points to gluttony?

  8. I thought it looked neat, so I picked it up and put it next to my Mall-o-rail Station. When I do my revision after the event I’ll probably integrate it into the original Monorail Station.

  9. I wish this one was 35 donuts, too. I’d probably grab it since I think it looks kinda cool.
