Should I Spend Donuts On the Self-Reliant House?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Once again new premium items have hit our Monorail stores!  This time a couple of new recycle and Monorail themed items have arrived via the donut spending route.  One in particular is a house straight out of Lisa’s future.  Now I know you may be trying to decide if this is worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it!  We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Self-Reliant House to your Springfield? Well now that Act 3 is in full effect let’s take a look at the pros and cons of adding this recycled beauty to your Springfield.

Building: Self-Reliant House
Donut Price:
35 Donuts
Earns:
$200, 20xp/12hrs
Size: 6×9
Conform-O-Meter Impact: Indolence +10

The Self-Reliant House Leaves Stores on September 15th..

Pros:
-Very inexpensive for a premium building
-Another unique house for Springfield…something to put in a neighborhood besides a brown, white, orange, purple, pink or blue one
-Looks cool and futuristic

Cons:
-No characters interact with it
-No questline associated with it
-Doesn’t come with a character or skin, just a stand-alone building (would be really cool if future Lisa skin came with it…)

Final Thought:
Premium:
I like this one.  It’s priced right for what it is and it’s always great (in my opinion) to add another unique house to Springfield.  If you have the donuts and always enjoy new houses in Springfield pick this one up…it’s a decent premium buy.

Freemium:
While it’s not the most superb premium purchase, it’s not a bad one.  35 donuts isn’t a ton for a premium building.  But keep in mind it is just that, a premium building. It’ll look cool and unique in your Springfield, and I think it’s a decent buy, but there’s not practical advantages to it. No characters will interact with it.  So if you buy it, it’ll just sit there.  So keep that in mind with your decision process.  However, I think it’s a good buy and I’m always a fan of adding another house to Springfield.

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do, and personally I’ll be picking this one up.  However, this IS a limited-time item.  So if you’re thinking about getting it make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games (September 15th).

What are your thoughts on the Self-Reliant House?  Did you make the purchase? Why or why not?  Where have you placed it in Springfield?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Among the premium items that were offered during this event, it was only the Mapple Store which I picked up. This was the only one which was a maybe (mainly because of the lower cost, too). I’m holding back, however, as THOH will be here soon and there may be something there to truly pique my interest. The last time this worked in my favor, I passed on the FLY, FLY & BUFFET, and was able to grab PLOTTER in a subsequent event without spending any real cash, or waiting until I could starting grinding for enough Bonuts.

Kimiko may be the only re-intro which I’d really want.
It would be great if she doesn’t cost more 50 donuts, too! 🙂

  2. Didn’t know it was a unique house/building, but my premium purchase plan worked out anyway thanks to Homer’s Circus, also priced at 35 🍩s. Now I wait for Tuesday for yet another of my requested return houses/buildings for S.H. 😁 I feel like my sometimes premium ideal has turned into full premium… **** you game! XD

  3. Bit the bullet and bought right after I got the rail yard. I figure I can make up my spending with the bonuts from making track pieces before Halloween!!

  4. I’m really tempted by this one…wish it’s want limited-time, so I could get out when I was ready for it, decorating-wise. If I get it now, it will either sit in an undeveloped strip of grass, like the building we got with OJM, or it’ll sit in my inventory for a while, because I just have the time right now to make a “home” for anything note right now. (Still have Duff Stadium in inventory from when I purchased it weeks (months?) from now.

  5. Do you think marge will return at the same cost? Becuase i want this house but i have only 114 donuts and i was saving for her

  6. where does this come from? there’s nothing like this house in the show

  7. I bought it right away, I love all thing Lisa. It is too bad future Lisa doesn’t come with it, but guess we can’t have present & future Lisa in same time 🙂 Also price was right & I to like having the unique houses in my town.
    Happy tapping everyone!

  8. This is a tough one. 35 donuts is pretty cheap and I don’t own any unique houses yet. I’m reserving 150 donuts in case they bring back the lazer cannon for the Halloween event. That leaves me 50, so I can get this house, but if they raise the cannon to 200, I’m screwed.

  9. Hi Alissa , totally off topic , although I did splash out for it. If and when we get a Heights update , will all the existing decorations like modern garden , chopper etc stay as well ? Apologies if you have already answered this . Thanks .

  10. Got the SRH the moment it came available. Don’t have any of the unique houses yet, don’t think any were offered since I started (after Dec), if they were, didn’t have the donuts at the time I’m guessing. Kinda see it being the home of Hippie, or Frink.

  11. Is there an animation for this or sound
    Thanx

  12. Can’t wait for the Halloween Events >_<

  13. I’m hoping someday we can go through the black hole to Future Springfield (now that a Futurama expansion is not likely, since they are getting their own game), with future skins for all!
