So…here is your Open Thread. The Monorail Event ends on Tuesday…how are you progressing through Act 3? Getting close to the Rail Yard? Loads of questions about what’s next…well we all know Halloween will be coming up, what are your thoughts for this year’s event? The Simpsons returns for season 27 soon…are you ready for the new season? NFL is back this week, Sunday Night Football tonight features the Giants at the Cowboys, will you be watching? Or will you be watching Sunday Night Baseball featuring the Royals at the Orioles? How was your weekend? Do anything fun?

Anyone else getting on screen message that the squealer is ready to squeal in level 58? Had it twice now but when you click on him nothing turns yellow to perform that action and all other characters are available? 😕 from U.K
If you are speaking of the Pop Ups on your device, those are more just “ads” from EA to let you know Level 58 is in the game.
I played ok this morning, but now at 17.20 GMT I can’t visit friends. I’ve tried 2 devices. iPad 2 the game just crashes and closes down, iPad mini just has a continual revolving donut.
I am frustrated. I visited all my friends and my other 11 towns. After I was done I went into my oldest town to collect the handshakes, and there weren’t any at all. From me or anyone else. Also, I was back to level 57. I haven’t even looked in my other towns. Most of the dollar signs r gone and I did not hit them. I feel like just setting down my iPad and walking away for a while. It seems like the more we get, the more messed up the game gets. To me, it is not worth it. I will watch here to see if they have a new update to fix all these problems and the appt store.
Don’t get upset, there’s always temporary problems after updates that get sorted in the end 🙂
After the monorail event I suddenly got new quest for Tony, Ned, and a couple others. The quests were to send them on actions that they already did long ago. The Ned one was called ‘The Christian Thing to Do.’ Were these new or from an old level I missed? Anyone know?
Just random tasks that popup from time to time. If there no dialogue with them they’re not critical to complete.

Hi everyone, Ive been playing TSTO for a few years now and i haven’t spent a penny on it and i dont intend to. I have at the moment 127 donuts – Ive always wanted Otto and the bus but i was wondering what you guys would suggest is the best premium character/item for me to buy seeing as i dont spend any money 😛 I look forward to your replies!
Otto was my first premium purchase and I’ve never regretted it. HOWEVER, you may want to wait until the Halloween event hits to see if they rerelease the Witch Marge skin, because she can speed up crops!
But, if you’re set on spending donuts now, Otto is not a bad choice (though there are several other good ones, too). One of the best barometers is to ask yourself how much you think you’ll enjoy having that character a month from now (or more) and/or asking yourself how bad you’ll feel seeing it in your neighbors’ towns if you *don’t* get it.
I like Bumble Bee Man & he has a SH task that pays double so it least it offsets the drain generating trophies puts on the other SH currencies.

I’m a 100% freemium player too, and my first premium purchase ever was Otto, although I bought him in a Gil deal. As you can see in this post http://tstoaddicts.com/2014/01/01/qa-the-addicts-team-top-10/ Otto is one of the only ones that are in the top 10 premium purchase for Alissa, Bunny and Wookiee (although I must warn you that this is an old list, and MANY characters were added into the game since then). However, as Sandra said, I’d wait for the Halloween event too. Currently I have 163 donuts and I’m waiting to see what Halloween has to offer, and if Halloween doesn’t bring anything interesting to me, I’ll wait until Christmas, and if Christmas doesn’t bring anything interesting either, THEN I’ll consider buying Belle, which is the character that I’m tempted by.
The internet was fixed last night. It was too late to visit. I came back this morning to clear the hand shakes and they are gone. None of the buildings that had handshakes which was nearly all of them don’t have $ on them either. What happened?

EA decsion makers, powers that be, whoever that can make changes to TSTO, I hope you read my plea (as I realize this website and its co-owners have no affiiliation with EA :D). As of right now I have 20-30 tracks that I literally have no use for, have no plans to use the wavey tracks, and have way too many corners than I’ll ever need. If this keeps up, I, and I’m sure a few of us will have our useless tracks added up in the 100’s if not 1000’s over the next few months.
My request is simple. PLEASE give us an option to trade in tracks that we don’t want, for tracks we plan on using. Even if we have to add in game cash with the track, that’s cool too. If this isn’t an option, at least allow us to SELL the tracks that we don’t want.

I’ve spent a couple hours going through this page but I’m still unclear on a few things if someone could help me please?
In visiting my new neighbours and looking around I can pick out some,I’m gathering, special items from other events I’ve missed, do they come around again, say every yr or so? I hope so, as their are some cool things I would like to get lol.
I thought vandalism was not working as I’ve never seen it in the other town I’ve always visited but today in visiting new neighbours a can was available to hit above some buildings?i didn’t hit it, but is this how you vandalise, and is it working again? I don’t like the idea of mucking up someone else’s hard work, so will be extra cautious.
Lastly cheating. How do you cheat? I don’t understand lol. Is it classed as cheating if you spend your own money for donuts to buy things? I’m a cheapskate and don’t like to spend money on a game if I don’t have to, so I’m just drooling over those items at the moment lol

Some Items are Event Exclusive only and some return. Honestly it really has to do with suggestions from Players to EA to bring them back.
Vandalism can be disabled at times when an Event requires you to clear many Buildings and help avoid it. Then once that Event is done, it goes back on again.

“Cheating” means that you illegally obtain the game, additions to the game, or game currency from anyone else OTHER than EA. Not only is it illegal, but EA will not provide customer support to those with altered games as it is not longer THEIR game you are playing. They may also wipe out your account. It is also very risky to offer your game info to a stranger to make modifications to your game. You never know what else is getting coded in there. It is a huge risk to take for a few bobbles in your game that most can earn just fine by playing or spending a few donuts to pick up (which you can also earn a bunch of free ones just by playing properly). 🙂
Cheating is using ‘cheats’ that are on the internet to play the game in such a way it was not intended to be played. For example, using a cheat to get extra of an item that is supposed to be obtained once.
Tapping the spray can found above some building will cause the building to be tagged with graffiti. This is unacceptable to some players and OK with others. If you get a neighbor from the “Do not graffiti me” posts, do not tag them or you may find yourself deleted from their neighbor list. Mistakes do happen. If you accidentally tag someone, you may want to say so on the “Do not tag me post”. Most people will let a random tagging go as an accident, make it a habit and they may not be so forgiving.
Welcome to the madness! I’ve had the same problem sending friend requests and the fix for me was to logout of Origin/EA and then log back in. It’s easiest to to this on the starting screen with Homer running from sky finger. Just tap on lower left.
Just wanted to say to anyone that is friends with thgilogidni, that this person will be VERY busy for the next 10 days but will try their best to play!

Can anyone help. . .After the update yesterday, I was surprised to see that all my building animations were all working – even ones I’ve never seen in my game, such as the smoking towers (I don’t even have Moleman), signage graphics, and the Mapple store light on and door open. . .but today it’s all gone/back to how it was. Was this just a fluke of the update? Or am I missing something that should have these all running all the time?

In the past, like Halloween, places came alive when “Haunted”. EA has to enable the feature though.
Not sure about anyone else, but noticed the project board can be used as sort of a teleport to the Rail Yard. So if you put the project board at one end of town, the Rail Yard at the other (or whereever you want instant access to) its much faster than swiping (or clicking and dragging if you use bluestacks)
I keep reading your guides as to wether or not to spend donuts on items which is very useful but wondered if you had ever put them in a list from the must haves to the completely avoids like a chart?
Never saw a chart on the site myself, so not sure if one exists, but I recall seeing a page which mentioned Alissa Bunny and Wookie’s top favorite items.

I’ve been wondering a while about how long I’ve been playing TSTO and I realized I could probably find out by searching through the articles here on TSTOaddicts. One of the first “special buildings” I remember receiving was First Church of Lard Lad so I searched for that and found out that it was released during the Halloween event 2013. I also found out that I have all community prizes from that event and the first two personal prizes (pumpkin house and haunted graveyard). This leads me to the conclusion that I began playing some time during that event, some time in the end of October I guess, and that I am now getting close to my two year anniversary in the game.
I don’t have any Apple devices so I never could play from the beginning but I am a bit curious, when was TSTO released on Android? I wasn’t able to find that information here, the oldest post I found with an Android tag was from August 14, 2013, but it seems that TSTO had been up and running on Android for a while when that post was written.
Site has only been here since 8/2013. Game since 2/2012… with a shut down and restart due to too many issues for iOS later in year 2012. Then Android 2/2013… many issues with lock out again but for Android that time… full scale round July 2013
Yeah that’s right, the site’s two year anniversary wasn’t that long ago. My bad, I should’ve remembered. Ok so basically I only missed a couple of months of Android game time. Thanks for your reply 🙂

Kinda curious what everyone has done with their Rat Trap Delivery Trucks?
It’s one of those things I never got around to getting because I was always building the level buildings, but now that I’m almost caught up I’ve been buying some of the more expensive decorations (blood mobile, tiki bar, etc.)
I was thinking either by Springfield Elementary or behind Luigi’s, or maybe beside the strip joint.
Many of my neighbors have placed a rat trap delivery truck behind the slaughter house. Ewwwwwwww 😛

Hmm I like the Krusty Burger idea. For now I put it behind the Choco Beanie Factory in a big space I wasn’t sure what to do with. Probably going to buy a few more.
I just put mine in the Grocery store parking lot. Local grocery store has a few rat traps out visible for the public to see near the bread and stuff, so figured it was a reasonable, although maybe not so “funny” spot for it
Has anone gotten Lisa’s recylcing plant and confirmed that it will earn you blueprints are the rail yard is unlocked? and potentially after the event ends? I havent spent donuts on it yet but if it continues to give me blueprints after the event i’m definitely investing.
It will not earn you blueprints. It will earn you bells and whistles right now. Once the event ends it should go to earning cash and xp.

Will not know until the event ends on both accounts. However I would not risk the 200 donuts…
Argh! Getting kinda frusterated, still on my second last job to do before I can even start the job to get my bonus donuts from the rail yard, and every freakin job requires glass! EVERY single one, at this rate I won’t get my donuts in time this week.

OK, seems to be fixed now. Not sure what that was all about.
I got the Railyard, but now it seems that every time I try to access editing mode, my game crashes. Has anyone else had this? I’m assuming there will be an update to remove the event so hopefully that will fix it. I’m quite looking forward to Halloween on here and in FGTQFS. I don’t like it, but I seem to always enjoy it in games. I guess it’s because they do a lot of fun stuff. I’ll have to see about adding money to both. But I’ll wait to see what there is, and if there are any deals or offers.
It just started…There’s a bug going on right now involving move/build/edit. Best thing I can tell you to do is contact EA, let them know. They need to be flooded with inquiries on it so it can be fixed ASAP

Glad that the OJG has finally made it into our games as I’ve been wanting him in it for a while. Now I just hope like everyone else that Maggie will be added. But I’m also hoping we can get Sarah wiggum and linsay naegle in at some point.
Has anyone else had their premium stadium pieces revert to the original blue & yellow? I purchased the clay skin for the stadium and all was fine until a week or so ago. Immediately after Tap Ball ended I stored all except my tennis court, 4 single bleachers and fencing.
About a week ago I noticed the stadium entry in storage had switched back, as had all the bleachers, etc. The items on display were still the clay court. I figured I’d wait until this event ended before dealing with that issue since the display items well fine. Then BLAMMO! The day before yesterday the display items were all blue.
Did anyone else have this happen? I logged out and back in, went to Krustyland too but no change.
It seems to only be those items that are affected. Aside from a few crashes when visiting friends and a very rare screen freeze then too, my game has thankfully been pretty much bug free through this event. (Akita stopped making bonsai during the event but that’s now corrected.)

Try pulling the stadium entrance out of inventory and changing it to clay and then restoring it. See it that helps.

I got rail yard Saturday and close to last prize should get today. The tappers that are posting they aren’t visiting neighbors are missing out, you get bells & whistles for visiting, plus it helps your neighbors obtain same. Even when I reach my max I keep going, as it still helps neighbors. To have good neighbors you need to be a good one in return. Which brings me to a big THANK YOU to my awesome neighbors, I couldn’t have achieved this without all of you. Also when my 90 taps run out of bells & whistles I’ve been getting 2-4 free donuts for neighbor visits. So you might want to rethink your strategy, my opinion only. Does it take time, yes, but you also get to see some awesome designs! I visit neighbors while watching tv so its no biggie.
Football sucked 4 me, I keep tryin to be a Tampa Bay Bucs fan as I live in FL now, but they need some major help! Also being a S.F. 49er fan my whole life can’t give up on them although not happy with their front office & owners. Getting rid of one of best head coaches when only thing he did was having winning seasons while he was there. I fear we are in for long hard season, plus sucks they aren’t on till 10:15 my time tonight argh. Also they left San Francisco & r in Santa Clara for most of country that doesn’t matter, but being a native CA from that area bothers me & my other niner friends!

And thank you for being a great neighbour. Have been discouraged by the long processing times. Have been watching Varg Veum, so I have to read the subtitles constantly. My wife was just in Bergen, hence the interest. She only saw two places in the films that she recognised. If you ever need a reason not to go to Norway, just watch the films. Obviously fiction, but…. So tapping on neighbours has taken too much time for me. But I only missed one or two days and haven’t gotten donuts since Saturday. Hope your luck holds.

Starts on Friday (18/09) and I’m so keen for us (South Africa) to be the first to win it three times! Our pool matches should be ok (Japan, Samoa, Scotland & USA) and then the real fun starts… Just glad we are not in Pool A cos it looks tough (England, Australia AND Wales in one pool – ouch!)

I am, best chance for England to win for ages as it’s on home soil .You’re right though , our pool is tough but S.Africa and New Zealand are danger teams too . Can’t wait for it to start .
It’s going to be exciting whatever happens! England are always in with a chance (as in 2003!) but New Zealand is certainly the danger team – especially since we lost to them recently in the Rugby Championship & they are the top ranked team…😁😁😁
Because of NZ’s good form i support South Africa – & anyone who plays against New Zealand!
If I understand it correctly, if we win our pool and England come 2nd in theirs then we meet in the quarter finals but if England win their pool too then we would only meet (potentially) in the finals… Wouldn’t that be fun😄😄😄
We still have to beat Samoa and Scotland both of whom are capable of an upset so I don’t want to count my ‘old gray mares’ until it happens….

Is there a bridge or a way to make one for the monorail? It stinks I can’t put a road in under it. If I put a rail piece on the road homer or otto might crash into it and destroy it.
My monorail is only on my roads. Maybe place the road first?
Going to miss out on the 5 donuts tomorrow, all the blueprint task required glass, still only on 33000, need to get 50,000 for the extra 5 track peices and dont know how much the last task will be, better luck next week 🙁
Make sure you get your glass depot though before the event ends if you don’t already have it…
having same problem myself, on my second to last task, then one more and I’d get the donuts, but every task on my board requires the stinkin glass. Doubt I’ll get the donuts this week. Ended up getting Cobb too late in the event I guess.
