The Monorail and the Conform-O-Meter

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The Monorail Event released a TON of new items into our Springfields.  Everything from train tracks to garbage trucks!  So let’s take a look at how these new and returning items impact our Conform-O-Meter…

The Conform-O-Meter is an important part of Tapped-Out because it provides you with a bonus boost in your cash and  XP from everything you collect in the game.  When you achieve a 5-Star Town (it’s max rating) you will receive a 5% bonus on all money and XP collected in your town.  If you missed the previous Conform-O-Meter posts check here for the basics and here for how many points you’ll need to reach 5 stars.

While the Monorail event brought no changes to the Conform-O-Meter requirements, it did bring a bunch of buildings and decorations.  So let’s take a look at how all of the new “goodies” impact our rating:

  1. Is there a way to have the Krusty’s station? I’ve started playing this year.

  2. Is there a way to get the monorail and recycling plant if I was not playing when the event happened?

  3. Maybe EA could add a Right & Left Hand Switch for the track?

  4. I earned all Prizes for the Monorail Event ( it wasn’t a difficult event, even though EA had Network problems). I’m glad Tappers can still earn Monorail Tracks (and +5 Donuts) with an easy Daily Task (thanks EA)! 🙂

  5. Yesterday I was at 5 stars on everything, this morning I had two graffitied businesses and now I am at a half a star on righteousness, is this something wrong or do I have to warn people not to do it?

  6. Is anyone else pissed off that the rail yard is not producing strait track!?!?! I’m wasting my damn time with this mono rail track. It’s been months and I’m not even HALF way done yet. Just pathetic. Eff you EA. freaking wasting my time with this bs recently

  7. Hey Addicts.

I just wanted to share a general point about laying the Monorail track.

Having now amassed well over 100 pieces I thought I would lay out the 4 stations (inc. Krustyburger) around town in their permanent locations and have a go at connecting them all in a single circuit.

Something which became apparent very quickly is that there is a definite need for a single-tile piece of track.

All the track pieces are either x2 or x4 tiles, which means that it is very likely that when laying track from one station to the next, you will find that you are left with a gap of 1 or 3 tiles that you simply cannot bridge. Sure, you can use the x2 piece, but good luck filling that last tile! No matter how much you try and jig it about, the maths will win.

The only solution is to move the station you are starting from one tile in the direction needed to meet-up with the target station, or vice versa.

Knowing this in advance (hence I’m sharing the info. With you guys) would probably make it less of an issue as you could lay track, and THEN place the next station where the track stops, but if like me you laid out all 4 stations (plus all the add-ons!) in advance then this became particularly frustrating.

Either way, it will still make things easier in the future if there are new MR additions to have a single tile piece of track as it removes the need to pre-plan everything.

Has anyone else come across this and had a moment of TO rage? 

  8. I enjoyed the event.
I went on hiatus early during the Tap Ball event and didn’t return back until this event had aleady started. The monorail was one of the things I was eager for. ( Maggie as a PC is another, ***nudge, nudge EA!*** )

Starting the Springfield Heights section was sub-sequential. My appeal for SH was low because it reminded me too much of the RELENTLESS, teeth grinding, tedium that I had with the FGTQFS—i.e. “30sec task to get 1 cotton candy… You need 500 cotton candy for a clown skin” …WTH!!??!!??—Needless to say, I stopped playing that game.

Now, if only I felt confident about downloading the Removal Update on my iPad. 😟

  9. Is it safe to put monorail track in the water?

  10. Anyone having trouble getting their extra rail pieces from the rail yard? I have 11,500; only 5,000 needed- my “blue status bar” goes all the way off my screen. Deleted and reloaded, not fixed. Any suggestions?

  11. Finally got to 5 stars in everything no thanks to the recycling bins. I wouldn’t have bothered buying so many if I knew they had such a little value on tree hugging.

  12. I got pretty much everything, but the ants. I actually wanted to pick up one of them, completely forgot before the event ended. Small matter. I am sure they are going to return some day.
And wasn’t the Self-Reliant House part of the Monorail-event? Any conform-o-meter data on that one? I just have to know, I am a little OC about completing my spreadsheet. Thanks 🙂

  13. Don’t know why but I didn’t love the event, played it for the gifts only, it’s not funny or creative, a whole month of doing the same thing for the same type of prizes with a different color, and you can’t even choose what type of track you need they just gave you what they want

    Really hate it 🙁

  14. I can’t think of another event that gave us more items that impact the meter (not counting vanity). Even just looking at the freemium items (including dozens of track pieces) they hit most of the categories many times. That’s kind of a nice bonus 🙂
