Level 57 hit our devices last week and with it arrived an all new fun little decoration for your Springfield…the Old Gray Mare! Now I know you may be trying to decide if this is worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it! We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add the Old Gray Mare to YOUR Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this Mare that ain’t what she used to be to YOUR Springfield!
Decoration: Old Gray Mare
Donut Price: 40 donuts
Bonus %: 2% bonus on all cash and XP
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +400
Unique: No, buy as many as you want
Level Requirement: Must be at Level 57, unless offered Early Access when the update first hit
Pros:
-Standard bonus percent awarded for 40 donuts
-Animated when tapped (the Mare tries to stand up, gets weak knees and falls back down). When not tapped it’s still animated, a fly flies around the Mare.
Cons:
-Not really a character, just sits there in town.
-Does not interact with any characters
Final Thought:
Premium or Freemium:
File this under “if you like it get it”. For 40 donuts it’s on par with what the bonus % payout is for other 40 donut items. 2% is a fair payout. So if you like the Mare and have a place for it in Springfield, you should pick it up.
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do…and I can tell you I’ll probably pass on this one for now. However, this is NOT a Limited-Time Item so take your time with your thought process. The Mare will still be there in a few weeks. So if you’re on the fence or worried about saving up your donuts relax..there’s no rush to get it.

Sometimes EA offers up cool (and clever) stuff …. and sometimes I’m left wondering “why EA? why?” (which is what I feel about the Old Grey Mare).
I’m going to wait for Halloween to hit, then decide how to spend the dough(nuts), but I got the perfect place for that old gray mare! Right in front of the slaughter house. We’ll be slaughtering gym mats no more.
Picked this up and added it to Cletus’ farm. Now Macaroni can stare longingly from his stall at the mare sitting in the Paddock. She should have some interaction with Furious D!
I bought her instantly. She’s one of the things I remember from the show and I sat her ynear Cletus’s farm and Plopper’s silo. My mom started getting gray hair early and my dad used to sing the old gray mare song to her it was terrible but that’s why I remember this part of the Simpson so well.

Personally I haven’t tested it because I don’t have the patience to grind for a tennis courts that won’t really fit in my town.
I think a 2.25% payout for a tennis court is waaaaaay better. Still keeps adding when you get them although it doesn’t say that’s a feature.
Remember…it’s no longer a premium. So you can’t really make a comparison on it with this.
well yea. I’m just sayin’. Looks like a “you gotta download this if you want to play” update just hit. Guessing it’s the fix for the tennis courts.
So…..will the tennis courts that were purchased with donuts still give the 2.25% bump or did us early adopters loose out when the update hit?

I was going to get it but as I looked at her I realized that old gray mare just isn’t what she used to be so I decided against it.
For me this isn’t a ‘gotta have it now’ item but I can see me adding one to my farm area, sit it next to Cletus’s place 🙂
What is the latest update for tsto? I try to visit neighbors and it says they have more updated content. I go to the App Store for my iPhone and there is no update available….
An update hit yesterday…might be having issues on iOS (and your neighbors are probably on Android). Best thing I can tell you to do is restart your phone and see if the update appears in your app store. You can also do a search for TSTO in your app market and see if it says update under it, sometimes they just don’t show in the app store for whatever reason.
