Where Did THAT Come From – Column Mansion & Polo Field House

Welcome to the Lifestyles of the Springfield Rich & Famous… errr… well, to a site writing about a new rich people expansion in TSTO. In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where did THAT Come From?

So the Springfield Heights expansion brought us lots of new items with confounding leveling up of buildings, real estate values and tap-tap-tappery. Of course, it also brought lots of new stuff to find in the Best. Show. Ever. Two of the offers were the Column Mansion and Polo Field House. But what does a weird candelabra house and polo location have to do with the Best. Show. Ever.? When and where did they appear in the TV series? Well, that’s my gig here so let’s find out.

“Waverly Hills, 9-0-2-1-D’oh” (S20:E19)

Waverly Hills… that’s where I want to be! Squatting in Waverly Hills.

Sorry. Never a bad idea to have yourself a Weezer moment and I just hope some of you agree. To find these buildings is as simple as just this one episode. Marge drinks a bit too much fancy water named after real words and during the requisite bathroom break, she realizes just how bad Springfield Elementary education is: teachers with hangovers, overcrowded classrooms, classes taught by Ralph Wiggum because Ms. Hoover got tenure, combining math with P.E. aka dodgebook… pretty bad.

Marge decides to send the kiddos to a decent school and the family rents a small apartment in Waverly Hills so Bart and Lisa can go to elementary school there. “No windows, no parking and a man died here.” The bedroom is a fold down bed and the bathroom is at the Ethiopian restaurant at the end of the block… perfect. Only problem is the random inspector who is going to make sure they live there to ensure Homer and Marge are not just using the address for the school.

This is where you actually get to hear the song Weezer recorded for the episode, a take on their Beverly Hills. Looks a lot like the area it’s spoofing complete with Spiffany’s, Paris Texan AND the Column Mansion.

Bart and Lisa are super impressed by Waverly Hills Elementary when they get there. It has on campus stables, field trips to Europe, real meat in the cafeteria AND the principal is a doctorate. It’s said stables that resembles the Polo Field House.

School doesn’t end up so great though. Skinner realizes Chalmers superintends other schools, Lisa gets lower grades and doesn’t know who Alaska Nebraska is. Bart seems to be ok with his bad boy image and to prove he’s a good bro, tries to raise Lisa’s cred by lying like hell. When everyone thinks Lisa knows Alaska Nebraska… she’s suddenly popular. The teacher gives her better grades and credit for future homework and she’s invited to Bat Mitzvahs. Too bad she can’t follow through with front row tickets and backstage passes because Alaska Nebraska is mean and one heck of a lip singer. In the end, the kids all want to go back to Springfield.

And that’s it… a couple quick blips from an episode that became offerings in TSTO to increase the real estate value in Springfield Heights. What do you think of them? Add them to your towns? Wish they weren’t premium? Sound off in the comments and keep it classy no matter what your income.

TTFN… Wookiee out!

  2. Since this new update I was able to earn one week of monorail prizes but today I am able to cash in my recycling but even though I am passed the first 5000 blueprints and it won’t let me collect my first prize. I’m actually almost to 10,000 but and the bar runs off of the screen… Anyone else experiencing this?

  3. Now I wonder if EA will offer a Waverly Hills expansion for Springfield Heights (lol) 🙂

  4. It’s too late now but I don’t think I have the column mansion available to buy. In my town it has asked me to buy the solid gold mansion and I can’t find the should I buy this… Maybe I missed something. It was a long weekend and was out of the loop
