Tapped Out Premium Walkthroughs: Herb Powell

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Level 55 has arrived a short while ago and finally Homer’s long lost brother Herb comes to town!  Everyone has been clamoring for Herb ever since “The Homer” was first released back in March.

While we’ve had the Turbo Tappin’ walkthrough up since Level 55 hit, we thought now would be a fun time to take a look back at all of the fun dialogue you might have missed while tappin’…or just to relive all the fun again!

As we mentioned in the Level 55 rundown post Herb Powell and Powell Motors will cost you 200 donuts.  Once purchased and placed in your Springfield the questline will start up….

So now….let’s get this walkthrough going, shall we?!

Herb Stomp Pt. 1
Herb starts

Grampa: Herb! Why didn’t you call and tell me you were coming to town?
Herb:
I did, last week. And yesterday. And this morning.  Heck, news that I was coming leaked to the Internet months ago!
Grampa:
So what brings you all the way here from Detroit?
Herb:
I just needed to be in a town that doesn’t look like it was leveled by an explosion.
Grampa:
Actually, Springfield WAS leveled by an explosion.
Herb:
Yeah, I’m seeing it now. But it’s still better than Detroit.
Grampa:
Well I’m glad you’re here. This will give us a chance to finally hang out together!
Herb:
 It sure will.
Make Herb Make Excuses to Avoid Hanging Out with Grampa- 12hrs, Earns $600, 150xp

Herb Stomp Pt. 2
Herb starts

Herb: Look at all this underdevelopment. Springfield is ripe for a new business. I just have to figure out what business to start.
Grampa:
With your fancy business school degree, I’m sure you’ll figure it out.
Herb:
Business school is mostly just partying with other people who are good looking but not good looking enough to be actors.  But who knows, maybe I learned something useful. Hmmmmm….
Make Herb Try to Think of Something Useful he Learned in Business School- 12hrs, Earns $600, 150xp

Herb Stomp Pt. 3
Herb starts

Grampa: Did you come up with anything?
Herb: Well, I did learn how to pick up undergrads by buying them craft cocktails.
Grampa:
But anything business-related?
Herb:
No. I’ll just have to do what B-school grads always do.  Repurpose an old idea and call it original.
Make Herb Go Through Old Business Ideas- 4hrs, Earns $260, 70xp

Herb Stomp Pt. 4
Herb starts

Herb: I think I’ve got it! The next Big Thing!
Grampa:
Yeah? What is it?
Herb:
I’ll tell you in private, where there aren’t any B-school grads listening.  Remember my baby translator?
Grampa:
 Yeah?
Herb:
Why are you saying that with a question mark? That’s my idea.
Grampa:
Oh. Well… uh… that’s a great idea, son! I’m so proud of you!
Herb:
Really? Now that you like it, I’m not so sure…
Make Herb Tweak His Business Idea- 24hrs, Earns $1,000, 225xp

Herb Stomp Pt. 5
Herb starts

Herb: I’ve done it again! Or for the first time… I’m not exactly sure. But I’ve done it. I give you the Baby Translator 2.0!
Grampa:
Ooh, like that Tosh show! But how is it different than the one you made me buy years ago?
Herb:
Well, I reverse the polarity of the capacitors — don’t look up if that makes sense — to make it run in reverse.  So instead of translating baby talk into adult, it translates adult talk to babies.
Grampa:
It’s brilliant, I’m so proud of you.
Herb:
 Ugh. You’re right, it’s a terrible idea.
Make Herb Feel Ashamed of His Father’s Pride- 8hrs, Earns $420, 105xp
Herb: Well, you’ll be happy to know that I bailed on my reverse baby-translator idea.
Grampa:
Actually, that kind of disappoints me.
Herb:
Finally! I gave the patent to my old B-school professor. He’s going to use it to translate his lectures into baby.  That way people can finally send babies to business school.
Grampa:
What’s the point of sending babies to business school?
Herb:
What’s the point of sending anyone to business school?

If you purchase The Homer, you’ll see this questline popup once you’ve completed Herb Stop Pt. 5

Nostalgia and Kitsch Pt. 1
Homer starts

Homer: Now that my car of the 90’s has become the car of 2015, what do you think of rebranding it?
Herb:
Is that why you called me? About that stupid, life-ruining car?!
Homer:
Yeah, why?
Herb:
Look, Homer. I’ve been going to therapy for my anger, so I’m gonna try to keep my cool right now.
Homer:
So you’ll put me in charge of the rebranding?
Herb:
Ahhhhhh!!!!!
Make Herb Destroy his Office in a Tantrum- 20hrs, Earns $825, 200xp
Snake: Whoah! Check out that rad looking drive! Looks like a wheel I could get behind.
Herb: People like the car? Hmmmm

Nostalgia and Kitsch Pt. 2
Herb starts

Herb: You know Homer, after trashing my office in a fit of unmitigated rage, I had a thought on the car.
Homer:
Are you going to make it freemium? I hear it’s a guaranteed way to make billions!
Herb:
People are always willing to pay huge amounts of money for nostalgic garbage like this!  But we’re not even going to market it as a car. This stupid thing is a status symbol!
Homer:
For the tenaciously hip of 2015?
Herb:
That’s right. But to appeal to them, it needs to be a hybrid!
Homer:
Good idea. Who doesn’t love a good transformer?  I know I do. I love transformers.
Herb:
Stupid idea Homer! Let’s do it!
Make Herb Market the Homer- 12hrs, Earns $600, 150xp

Nostalgia and Kitsch Pt. 3
Herb starts

Herb: Homer! I successfully licensed out the car design to Komatsu Motors for a cold 80 million!
Homer:
That’s great?
Herb:
Homer, I’m so happy! As a token of appreciation, I want to bank your next great idea. We’re going to be rich!
Homer:
I think I’ve still got some great ideas in me. It’s that or gas.
Make Homer Invent Something New- 12hrs, Earns $420, 100xp

Nostalgia and Kitsch Pt. 4
Homer starts

Homer: Herb, I’ve got my prototype prepared.
Herb:
Really? Already? That sure was fast!  …Should I be impressed? Or terrified?
Homer:
You should be impressed. I spent a lot of your money rushing the invention.
Herb:
*gulp!* I’m still looking forward to this… so, what’s the venue?
Make Homer Present at Moe’s- 8hrs, Earns $275, 70xp
Make Herb Stare in Disbelief- 8hrs, Earns $420, 105xp
Make Moe Serve Drinks- 10hrs, Earns $350, 90xp
Herb: Homer, you made the Homer car again?!  How could you do this to me?
Homer:
It’s the only thing I’m capable of creating.
Moe:
*sings with horn* La cucaracha! La cucaracha!
Herb:
How much did this prototype cost?
Moe:
Including Homer’s bar tab, you’re out 82 million.
Herb:
What? Really? My spongehead brother spent 82 million dollars?  I’m ruined! …Again!
Homer:
There there, Herb. On the bright side, now you have two of the most beautiful cars ever made.
Herb:
*sobs*

And that completes Herb’s questline!

Running from start to finish, with out using donuts, it will take you 2.5 days to complete if you do not have “The Homer” and an additional 4.5 days if you have “The Homer”.  A fun little questline with some hilarious dialogue!

  1. I just travelled back in time to the “should I buy” post, but I think if I really wanted it, I would have snapped it up sooner, so I probably won’t …..although character, building, & car in a 50 donut bundle would probably tempt me 😃

  2. Thanks for the quest run thru, initially I really wanted him until I went to place him and saw how tiny they’d made Powell Motors. It’s meant to be a big building but it’s too small and looks disproportionate to other buildings. So that being my main letdown, plus it being unvoiced and at 200 donuts I have to pass.

  3. What is this tennis court everyone keeps talking about?

  4. This one has been bugging me for a while. I still want him but soooo expensive and not voiced. Thanks for the walkthrough.

  5. Completely unrelated…I accidentally clicked on the Squidport arch and found that I ‘m able to make Boardwalk sections again. Did I miss a post on the Boardwalk opening up for expansion again? It’s been a long time since I maxed out and haven’t it checked it for awhile.

  6. I need 0.25% more to reach the 70% multiplier what do you recommend me to buy?
