Where Did THAT Come From: Beer Stein Wiggum

In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where did THAT Come From?

This post I will be going over the Origin of the Beer Stein Wiggum Costume. Character Costume brought to you courtesy of the Oktoberfest Gil Deals. Why is he in our games? Why is he in a Beer Stein costume? When did he appear? Let’s dive into the Simpsons TV Series to find out more.

Season 4, Episode 16: Duffless
Homer has skipped out on work at the Plant to go to a Duff Brewery Tour with Barney. The two drink their fill. Barney more so. Homer tries knocking him out so he can drive home. He knows there is no way Barney is in any condition to drive. Barney eventually hands over his keys. On their way out of the Brewery, what looks like a Beer Stein Mascot is standing outside waving goodbye.

After they pass, the top opens to reveal that it is in fact Wiggum inside. Looks like he has set up a sting operation to catch Drunk Drivers leaving the tour. He radios ahead to tell the guys to “look alive” as Homer and Barney drive out.

Beer Stein Wiggum 2

A large group of Motorcycle Cops follow Homer down the street and pull him over. He seems to pass all of the tests. Reciting the Alphabet while touching his nose and dancing all around the round. Just as the Lou & Eddie are about to let him go, a very very very drunk Barney hollers at them to give Homer a Breathalyzer Test. He fails. So Wiggum sends Barney on his way, with Barney reassuring him he is safe to drive the car.

As Barney backs out, he hits Wiggum in the Beer Stein Costume sending him rolling down the ravine…

he continues down the hill…

  1. Great episode. Might watch it again later 😛

  2. This whole exchange represents the very best of the Simpsons. Satire at it’s finest. Oh for the days when every episode was filled with these type of scenes. Used to be able to get 5 or 6 of this quality every episode. Now it’s maybe once over 3 episodes.

  3. Any Information For Halloween???

  4. Prime example of Simpsons “cannon”. Wiggum explodes in this episode, yet is still alive lol. By the way since I don’t think it has been mentioned before, excellent job on the banner.. Really outdid yourself this time, amazing work!

  5. …just goes to show you can practically roll anything down a hill and it bursts into flames! : D

    • In Groening’s defense, alcohol is combustable (I think that’s the word, still waking up and haven’t had my coffee yet lol)

      • D’oh meant flammable, although the two are somewhat interchangeable I guess. See what happens when I don’t have my morning coffee lol

    • If it can happen to Squidward, it can happen to anyone. 😉

  6. Why have i not unlocked the unemployment office yet and I am level 51?

    Morning, Bunny 🙂
Couldn’t pick him up. I’ve been raising donuts since I spent them all on Nixon back in July. If there’s nothing of interest on Halloween or on Christmas, then they’re getting saved for next 4th of July (Where I’m hoping for Reagan, but pretty much anyone’d do) or on Laura Powers. Mindy if she shows up again.

Anywho, I must be going, so have a great day!
