THOH 2015 101: Neighbor Visits

Just a quick note…please do not place Add Me requests on this post.  I know the title says neighbor visits, but it is NOT an Add Me post.  If you’re looking for friends please use our Add Friends Post.  Any Add Me requests placed on this post or any other post, beyond the Add Me Post, will be deleted.  Thanks.

Hey there Spookereenos!

We have Nightmares coming out of Campfires, some weird Blobbly Creature roaming our streets, Blasts from the Past, BUNNIES!, and all sorts of spooky things going on in our games.

What does all this mean? Share the Horror with your Neighbors of course. In this post I will be going over some details on visiting your Neighbors during the Event.

formlessterror_front_walk_image_2ico_mhud_friends_thoh2015 zombiehuman5_front_walk_image_2

Let’s go freak out the Neighbors!!!

First up, WHEN do you go to your Neighbors to visit?

Well, you want to make sure THEY have the THOH Update and are able to even offer help to you when you go there to tap. A good way to tell this is the Main Neighbor Screen. See if they have a S’mores & Fearless Terror Counter showing. If they do not, it is a good chance they’re not there yet. So… wait…. give them a few days to get past the technical issues, Update, and get to Questline point where the Campfire is placed and they can collect S’mores.

THOH Act 1 Neighbor Visits

THOH Act 1 Neighbor Main Screen

YOU need to be up to date too. So if you are not collecting S’mores yet, or reached the Questline Call of the Campfire Part 7 to go place a Formless Terror in your Neighbors… you will be limited to what you can do. Don’t waste those Neighbor Actions. Wait til you and your neighbor are ready.

The Call of the Campfire Part 7

DAILY NEIGHBOR ACTIONS

As with all Events, there will be a limit to how many Neighbors you can visit and tap on to earn Event Items within a 24hr period. So if you tapped on some within last 24hrs before starting the Event, you may have already used those Actions up and need to wait for the Reset.

If you are JUST now tapping for the first time in 24hrs, you will get the full Daily Actions before swapping back to $$$ & XP.

DAILY NEIGHBOR ACTIONS MAX: 90, This means 30 Active Neighbors x 3 Actions each.

WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO TAP ON IN NEIGHBORS?

Depending on what Spawn your Neighbor is currently dropping, you will see ONE of the 4 Nightmares wandering their town, be on the look out for ONE of the 4 to show up. These are the ONLY NPCs you will tap while in a Neighbors game. Just these 4.

zombiehuman5_front_walk_image_2Zombie Jackson: Sticks to mainly streets

skeleton_front_walk_image_2Skeleton: Sticks to mainly Streets

SnakeSnakes: Go all over, including through grass (these appear Green in color in Neighbors)

bunny 3Bunnies: Go all over, including through grass

This also means you will earn the coinciding items these Nightmares drop. So if you are looking for a specific Material drop to help Upgrade your Campfire… you may want to move on to another Neighbor. Just know this is random, so if you are short on time… tap and just move on if you do not have time to seek out a Neighbor with only ONE specific Nightmare Roaming.

Zombie Jackson: Brainsindicator_zombiebrains

Skeleton: Ribcage Bonesindicator_skeletonbones

Snakes: Snake Eggsindicator_snakeeggs

Bunnies: Bunny Earsindicator_bunnyears

You will also get ONE occasional Formless Terror…

Formless Terror: Blobby Purple Face ico_thoh2015_formlessterrordeploy

I CAN’T FIND ANY!!

Now if you are in an Active Neighbors town and can’t see any Nightmares… wait. If you hang around a Street in their game just a lil bit, those Nightmares will come to you.

OR, send off a Formless Terror and watch to see if you see some as it scans the Streets to drop the Formless Terror.

FORMLESS TERRORS

Another good indicator that your Neighbor is ready for the Event is the Formless Terror Icon in the top right corner of the game screen. If you do not see it, it is a good chance they’re not ready.

Call of the Campfire Part 7 tells you that you need to drop off one of these “kids” from the Campfire Monster off in a Neighbors town.

The Call of the Campfire Part 7

When you go into a Neighbors and look at the icon, it will tell you how many they can have dropped off in THEIR town. This will vary from 0-10.

Formless Terror Neighbor Icon

You will also have a counter in the Lower Left of the screen letting you know how many YOU have to drop off. You won’t have tons, so share them with as many Neighbors as you can. Even if you give just one to each Neighbor.

Formless Terror Counter

You can release a Formless Terror into your Neighbors town as long as both YOUR count and THEIR Count show 1 or More. Just tap on the Icon in the Upper Right Corner … Formless Terror Neighbor Icon

… then the game will take you to a part of your Neighbors road to drop off the Formless Terror into their town.

formlessterror_front_walk_image_2MAX Formless Terrors you can leave in each town: 10 or the # it shows left out of 10. You will actually get a Pop Up telling you if they’re full of Terrors.

Too Many Formless Terrors

If it says ZERO that is due to they already have 10 in their town and you have to wait for them to time out or the Neighbor to clear them to be able to drop off more.

WHAT DO FORMLESS TERRORS GIVE ME?

Now just what do YOU and your Neighbor get from the Formless Terrors? Let’s take a look. I am still testing this one out, but this is what I am seeing so far in my game. This will help you BOTH to hit those Campfire Upgrades a LOT quicker too.

If your Neighbor taps on the Formless Terror WITHIN 4 hrs…

YOU GETA mixture of 4 total items from the Random Nightmares

Formless Terrors Harvested

THEY GET- NOTHING

NEIGHBOR DONUTS!!!

What’s the point of tapping other Neighbors when you MAX? BONUTS!! Bonus Donuts for just tapping on through. If you have your FP MAXED and are on Friendship Level 20, you will get a Random Free Donut or more from going through your entire Neighbor list daily. WOOHOO!! ( I tried to grab a Screenshot of the one I won, but this Event is gathering items FAST… so I missed it but will try again.)

If you are NOT MAXED on your FP, then you will still want to continue to help you just get that much closer to Free FP Prizes and Donuts for your game.

Now for some Basics for YOUR Town

FORMLESS TERRORS

formlessterror_front_walk_image_2

These Terrors are FAST. They zoom all over your town and blink in and out of existence. That means grab one when you see it or it will disappear into the background and come back a lil later.

Tap on as soon as you see them so you and your Neighbor can benefit from the items they drop. (See payouts above)

MAX NIGHTMARES IN YOUR TOWN

zombiehuman5_front_walk_image_2skeleton_front_walk_image_2Snakebunny 3

I know many of you wanted to know how many Nightmares total you can have roaming your town at a time.

Nightmares MAX: 20 Total

Nightmares Bank: 40 (it does seem like the Bank is working. I have a LOT in my town in a short time.)

How quickly you generate them from your Spooky Campfire will determine how fast you hit this. Essentially, if you are close to 60 and the town is clear… you should be OK. If you are already full, clear some BEFORE clearing the Campfire Task Thumbs Up.

You will be warned if you have too many and are MAXED.

Full of Nightmares

DO I HAVE TO LEAVE SOMETHING TO TAP?

Nope. The game will take care of that for you. Your Neighbor will see items separate from any you are able to tap in your town. The two are not the same item.

That about does it. The basics of visiting your Neighbors game and how it will benefit you BOTH.

How are you doing on Visits? Got to Part 7 yet? Got any BONUTS from Neighbors yet? Did the Neighbors Visits help you Level Up your Campfire? Let us know.

  1. Anyone else being alerted to friend’s visits and then not having the blob in your town?
I had them yesterday but today I would get alerts and no purple nightmares.

  2. Hey Bunny,
I just emailed you a screenshot regarding what happens if a neighbor doesn’t tap a Formless Terror within 4 hours. In my game, if a neighbor doesn’t harvest the FT, I only receive 2 items (and I’m assuming they still receive nothing). It’s happened to me a few times now, and this time I grabbed a screenshot, so take a look, please, in your free time (HAHAHAHAHA, I’m so funny…) and maybe test it out in your b-game? I just don’t want people thinking they’re getting 4 items when they’re only getting two, and maybe that will help them coordinate their neighbor visits. 😉
Or hell, maybe it was a typo and you meant to type 2 instead of 4, in which case, trash the screenshot email and save a little bit of time and sanity. 😉
Thanks, as always, for everything, all 3 (and an upcoming 4th) of you!

  3. WTE! EA just sent me an advert in the TSTO notifications to entice me to join TSTO! Yeah, right.

I am really upset over the situation and have been doing some thinking.

    1. I am receiving no bonus points from neighbours visiting me. That means that they are also not receiving any when I visit. Therefore, requests to visit neighbours at the end of the alphabet during this event are meaningless because no one is getting any benefit from it.

    2. I needed three rabbits to level up, went to Brooders who have a moat installed which was great, because moving one centimeter was like watching cold treacle creep. The three rabbits there did not help me level up. So the 90 items obtained by visiting neighbours only apply to crafting. Not a great necessity so far. So I am getting little benefit from visiting neighbours.

    3. The formless terrors do provide a nice bonus. They do not require any searching, so are fast to unload. These are worth seeding to neighbours throughout the alphabet and esp. to those that return the favour. But a lack of return terrors does not mean that they were not returned; yours or the neighbours could have arrived during that 8 hour period called sleep or your SF could have been full when the neighbour visited. So I will seed these, but in larger batches instead of one to a neighbour and visit less often, perhaps once a week except when returning terrors dropped on me, providing I can read who sent them.

    4. Up until now, established players at level 58 were the premium neighbours everyone sought. But it is neighbours at level 20 that load quickly. That means we hippos need to go on a diet. I just dropped over a hundred items from SF (like brown houses and KEM that are not needed until the event is over) even though I was no where near even the lower limit. Definitely working faster now. Will drop more tomorrow.

    5. I was proud to have 5 stars as it meant I had some balance in my SF and was playing the game well. But that is a 5% bonus, i.e. a bit more than 2 tennis courts. And it means I need to have hundreds of decorations in my SF to maintain that rating. Tomorrow the rating and decorations go. That will making loading a lot faster.

When this event is over, I will trim my neighbours down to 40. I don’t see any reason to be a poor neighbours to others and visiting infrequently is not doing right by them. So will let them find a better neighbour than I can be under the current situation.

    • And bonuts are at most worth 17 cents a piece. Spending an hour plus for a few cents when I do not enjoy how I am spending time makes the payout meaningless. I would rather buy them.

    • In reply to your point 2, I have gotten increases to my campfire level up from tapping the relevant terror in my neigbours towns, so maybe there is a bug with regards to this?

    • Sraige-
Wow, that’s a lot, but in regards to #2, I had the opposite happen. Needed 12 bunnies, went to my neighbors, found those with bunnies, BOOM, upgrade. They added to my total. They were my 2nd-5th neighbor visits of the day, so wasn’t even close to the 90 max.
So is there an inconsistency? A glitch? The world wants to know! 😉

      • And I just tested it again on my first visit today- needed zombies, had 59 zombies, found a neighbor with zombies, tapped 3 zombies, went back to my town and checked zombies counter, have 62 zombies.

I hope if it’s a glitch, they get a patch through so the collection counts for everyone!

Zombies. Just using the word one more time. Signed,
The Department of Redundancy Department 😉

    • Just realised this morning that I probably had already done my 90 taps for the day, hence no addition. Still, I am not hurting for materials and I keep getting warnings that I have not tapped nightmares fast enough. So spending all that time for something I probably do not need is not pushing me to spend my time visiting.

But I understand that not everyone is in the same situation. Just thought my perspective might give others ideas.

    • Snail my friend …just by sharing your worries over this shows you are a great neighbour already! Honestly don’t worry if you can’t visit as I had the exact same troubles during the monorail event. I will still be there afterwards ♡

To everyone else…Please do take on board the advice that building a road moat around your campfire away from other roads really does help out your neighbours ☆

  4. Love the fact that this time around the formless terrors (vs gremlins etc. from past events) are dropping like crazy. But the load time for neighbors is awful and there seems to often be a load lag for the wandering creatures. I’ve scanned a couple empty towns, and dropped terrors only to find that after letting the game set for 20 or 30 seconds snakes/bunnies/skels/zombies suddenly appear in the middle of the screen. And then I’ve searched many towns only to find 0, 1, or 2 creatures to tap on and am forced to move on. It’s quickly become time consuming enough that I’ve started just dropping a handful of terrors and if I see somethign to tap along the way, I’ll tap otherwise I just move on. I’m hoping that neighbor taps aren’t going to be critical to getting enough materials for the prizes.

  5. Posted this below in response to someone else but may have got buried:

I have this same problem of neighbor nightmare taps not dropping any crafting items and also not increasing my total nightmares towards fire upgrade. if both of those things are truly due to exceeding the 90 friend actions a day limit, is there anyway to know when your limit resets? I started the event yesterday around 10:00am and now 28 hours later am still having the same problem. would have thought it would have reset by now.

    thanks.

    • YOU start that timer. If you watch your towns… the one with the least amount of time left is most likely the first one you tapped. I let ALL mine time down to zero, then pick OTHER or ONE town to use as my “clock”. I tap it first every time. That way I always know how much time I have left til reset.

  6. I found a snake slithering in the middle of a lake!

  7. Friends visits really slow since monorail act 3, dont know what am loosing from my daily visits Halloween event but it takes that long I cant do it, spent nearly 4 hours last night trying to complete them, ea no use after contacting them, trying to do some at a time but very slow

  8. I’m glad it’s not just my reactions slowing down with age, those terrors are zippy little biggest!

  9. Just a quick tip: Listen to the sound effect when you first land in a neighbor’s Springfield, it will tell you what nightmare you are hunting for. Zombies have a growl, Skeletons have bones clanking together, Bunnies have a twinkle sound, and snakes don’t seem to have a sound.

  10. Doesn’t appear that there is an personal advantage between dropping formless terrors in Other Springfield and Neighboureenos, like there have been in previous events.

As for Bonuts, I got a double/double from one colleague’s town. Two coiled snakes right beside each other resulted in a donut each when tapped! Awesome!

Now it’s just a matter of timing the campfire stories to increase nightmare efficiency!

    • As soon as a neighbour taps your formless terror, you get a payout of crafting items. THEY get nothing if it’s over 4hrs.

  11. new Request for EA:

    X-Ray vision!!

Yes in our OWN town we can click the Move Arrow to then access the Binoculars and then close the eyes to buildings and such and that Helps finding nightmares in our Own town BUT how about a tool when visiting neighbors EA?

Or at least make the bunnies and snakes bigger or something.

  12. A friendly reminder from those of us with handles in the latter part of the alphabet… I know visiting neighbors is excruciatingly show right now, so a lot of folks may not want to bother to visit all of their neighbors and just stop after they get their 90 taps in. If you’re going to do that, please consider starting with whichever neighbor was next when you stored the day before so that everyone gets visited equally over time (rather than just starting at the beginning of the list each time). Or, if you’re visiting half of your neighbors each day, an easy way to do it is to go into Other Springfield and use the left button to go backwards through the alphabet on alternate days.

    Thank you for your consideration!

    • Sandra I know how you feel, My problem is, I still have neighbors that haven’t downloaded the event yet (when I check how long they’ve been away from the game it is only a couple hours), and I’ve skipped them to get THOH currency from them later (and easier to know who these folks are in case I want to delete them).

anyway, I lost track of my 24 visitations and due to me skipping over Non-event players it’s a mess. Helen Lovejoy is not a good alarm (since she doesn’t make any noise). Stampy was a better alarm but now that I have Count Burns sleeping and collecting brains I guess I should use him for an alarm.

    • That is how I try to do it. Go to Other Springfield, go left one time and then right the next time around; that way I am able to divide my visits equally…even to the alphabetically challenged!

    • it’s just as easy for people to click on the left arrow as it is the right though. sometimes i’ll start tapping neighbors going left when i have a few mins of free time, then later i’ll tap neighbors going right… so unless i make it all the way to the middle both times or compensate for one session or the other, the people in the middle letters of the alphabet are the ones getting screwed…. sorry lee! 😉

anyway i bring this up because despite being down there in the T’s, i’ve never had issues with not being visited often enough, on OR off events.

  13. You wrote: ” if you are looking for a specific Material drop to help Upgrade your Campfire… you may want to move on to another Neighbor. Just know this is random, so if you are short on time… tap and just move on if you do not have time to seek out a Neighbor with only ONE specific Nightmare Roaming.”

I don’t think the nightmares are random. I think the nightmare you get in each neighbor town is dependent on which story is being told in each town. The only time this doesn’t hold true is when there is no story being told. Then the nightmare is random- though it seems to be disco zombies more often than not in my experience.

I could be wrong about all of this. maybe someone else could verify this?

    • So… still… random. You have no way of knowing WHERE your neighbor is or what story theyre on, right?

So…random. Take the item they currently have or risk wasting time to seek only what you want 😉

    • This is another reason my neighbor visits are out of whack. I agree with Bunny just accept whatever they have and if you don’t get everything within this 24 hours you probably will in the next.

  14. Do you guys also have problems with the wood collection? It sticks at the Kang outfit at 460 While i have actually 1000. I already reinstalled it. 🙁

    • Do you mean the S’mores collection? If so read this post, it explains it

      http://tstoaddicts.com/2015/10/07/addicts-questions-corner-thoh-2015-act-1/

      • Yes the smores collection. I have around 1400 now and with the Khan outfit it shows around 700 i got 250 as last Day of the week present but it didnt count or something

      • Imagine that:
It takes 1 to get Prize #1
It takes 2 to get Prize #2
It takes 3 to get prize #3
You finish and START toward #4
So now your counter will show that you have 6 (1+2+3),
but it will show you have 0 in your attempt to get Prize #4
(Because you just started THAT “quest”)

      • i understand what you mean Aliss abut thats not the case. I have overall 1262 smores but when i click on the prizes they say i have around 722 and i need 1620 foor the Kang pirate outfit. while i have 1262 of 1620. 😛

i hope it will be fixed soon.

      • Char, It’s not an error. The counters within the prize window only count the smores for the current prize. That counter resets to zero every time you unlock a prize. The running total on the main screen, at this point, is just useless extra info. to tell you how many smores you have collected over the course of the event….not how many you currently have, most of those were already spent on previous prizes.

  15. I will assume, as from previous events, that dropping a formless terror on a neighbor counts as an “action” for the daily allowable. Considering the lag time to visit neighbors, cycling through towns to reach the maximum allowed first, and then going back to drop terrors is out of the question for many this time around. Just assuming…

  16. It’s times like these that I sometimes miss the nice compact little town I had at this time last year….it was so much easier to manage and find things in! (And, no, I’m not willing to compromise my design and remove roads just to make things easier for me and my neighbors. But at least most of my roads aren’t obscured by stuff!)

  17. I know this has been mentioned a couple times already, but the posters are probably getting tired of posting it, so I will lend a hand.

Visiting neighbours is excruciatingly slow. You finally open up the SF, and before you are 5 km of street, some of which is covered by trees and buildings. I understand, players like to show off their design skills, but it is almost impossible to find snakes in that mess and it can take longer than opening the SF to find anything to tap. Being a good neighbour starts with you . Two solutions:

    1. Concrete streets are not a decorative element, they are a character management tool. Put streets only where you want to find characters, i.e. where you are working/crafting like recycling rubbish and at the town centre. The event building becomes your town centre, so either place it beside a street or place the street beside it. Everywhere else, use pavement, what is otherwise known as macadam or asphalt. For ways to make asphalt look better see the recent post on rebuilding your town after nuking it. (http://tstoaddicts.com/2015/09/19/from-the-mouths-of-addicts-how-to-recover-gracefully-from-a-nuclear-explosion-in-springfield/)

    2. Encircle the campfire with a street. This street should be a distance from other streets. The nightmares and formless terrors will still find the other streets, but in far smaller numbers. The ‘moat’ need not be a simple square; be creative. These keeps almost all of the tappable items in one place, which is where visitors arrive in SF.

Doing these two things will make life easier for both you and those visiting you.

    • #2 as you and I have mentioned, I am calling the Remote Road-Moat Island technique (patent pending), or RRMIT for short (hoping it spelled something cool, I even would have been happy with RIBBIT, hmm let me try)

Remote Island Built By… (Something) Terrain

Road Island Built Beyond Intersections Technique (that was a tricky one, I think I’m going to make like a frog and lay down and Croak)
      😛

    • concrete streets ARE a decorative/design element. when you remove your street tiles and put pavement down instead, it makes your roads look like crap with those distinct, hard edges and nothing to buffer the transition to green grass. i don’t have any superfluous streets in my town, and i absolutely will not remove any of my street tiles for the sake of trying to corral my characters/creatures. if this is a dealbreaker for any of my visiting neighbors, please feel free to not visit or simply part ways.

  18. these yellow bunny ears reminds me of another game. A game with other masks. I can Try-(to)-Force a bunch of hints and puns into this comment but that would take a lot of Wisdom but I don’t have Power nor Courage to do it. I wish there was another way to Link one to the other (besides a few skeletons there isn’t much to go on).
I just want to put on a pair of bunny ears and run really really fast.

    [my favorite Game series]

  19. I think the Formless Terrors only help you with Crafting, they don’t affect your progress towards Campfire upgrades, correct?

  20. Anyone having problems adding friends? Just tried and it won’t let me. Tried a few days ago in prep for Halloween and it wouldn’t then either. I don’t have the max friends. Deleted a dozen or so people who hadn’t played in weeks. Thanks,

    • Happens sometimes. Sometimes you have to wait a few days for it to let you. Or you can try uninstalling/reinstalling the app.

      • Thanks! Figured it was just me because after posting my username on the add me page I was flooded in minutes with neighbor requests. Too many now.

  21. I am really looking forward to the annual zombie walk we do every Halloween from the pier down along the seafront for charity! Such fun ☆

…A couple more little more clues there for you Lee *winks*

    • Was Devon right? 🎃 🎃

    • Thanks Phil, my next question would have been Atlantic coast or south coast 🙂 ……

but based on the clue, I’m now going other side of the “south end” of the country where people’s land lines begin with 01702

      Well? 🏆🏁:-)

  22. So far none of my 66 neighbors have the update tat I can see.
But I see a number of them have camp fires.
How will this impact the calendar and the ending of this event?
I have Homer being held by the Octopus (?) on the opening screen Am I updated?

    As always thanks!

  23. Thank you so much! The is the info I’ve been anxious for since I started visiting neighbors with the event yesterday. It seems pretty in line with previous events so I think I did ok yesterday with visits. Nice to know about the bank, I hadn’t noticed that yet.

  24. What do the nightmare items that drop look like? OH Wait, I see them in the post, OH, there they are again, OH and there they are Again, and again. Wait, I think I need to see them once more to make sure :p

  25. I wish the snakes and bunnies were easier to find in the town.. Like maybe the snakes could be a brighter color.. They blend in with everything and it’s hard to find them behind buildings and such.. Maybe if they were like bright lime green or something… I mean in our own towns, not the neighbor towns…

  26. Hello Hello, need some new friends for the halloween event, *****

  27. Kim (kimberlyah794)

Great post, Addicts team! You are always so helpful!

I’m feeling the same frustration as some of my fellow tappers. Neighbor visits are taking so long! The lag in the load screen is HUGE. Finding the nightmares can take a while, especially if the neighbor has a lot of streets, but that’s to be expected. But the load time for each town is immense. I even uninstalled some extra apps to free up space on my tablet. I realize this is a memory-heavy event, but it’s taking me about 2 hours to visit all 100 neighbors right now! 🙁

  28. One little question from me…If I am currently collecting snakes to upgrade my camp should a snake tapped at a neighbours count towards the total or is it just purely gathering the items that burst out? Thanks ♡

    • I think it’s just in your town, but not 100% sure.

      • I’m on the fence about this one too, last night neighor tapping it seemed to count, but not positive.

      • I thought it did at first but today it doesn’t seem to be adding to the campfire upgrade.

      • i dunno what the deal is with this, but neighbor bunnies didn’t count for me earlier today when i needed just 20. had to set milhouse to tell a story, set a few of the kids to make smores generating bunnies, then stored milhouse away and bring him back out to set the rest of the kids on skeletons. i’ll have to check on this again….

      • well i just tried it a few mins ago, and neighbor skeletons DID count towards my campfire upgrade total this time. now i’m wondering if my campfire spawn wasn’t set to bunnies earlier today when i tapped neighbor bunnies, like it was tonight with the skeletons. hmm…..

    • Yes, it does count. At one point, I only needed 3 more zombies, so I just visited a friend who had zombies and it triggered the change for me.

      • I can confirm that it does count. A few minutes ago, I needed just a few more bunnies, so I spent some time hunting them down in neighbors’ towns. I didn’t get any message indicating that I’d hit the upgrade while visiting my neighbor, but I did get the upgrade and bunch of nice bramble hedges upon returning to my own town.

    • It definitely counts!!! (But ONLY if they are active daily actions within the 90 max. After that, when you only receive cash and XP, they DO NOT count.)
Last night, I was 12 bunnies short of an upgrade, so I wanted to try to find out if I could collect them from neighbors instead of sending kids for 4 hours again. (Time is currency, people!)
I went through my neighbors, found bunnies, and upgraded my campfire. And a note for all: about a third of the way through my neighbors, after searching towns and finding snakes everywhere, I realized something… neighbors’ towns open up on the campfire. Whoever is telling a story at the campfire quickly tells you what nightmares are running about town. My strategy went from, “C’mon, where ARE they?!?” with seemingly endless searching, to, “Is it Milhouse? No? Moving on!”
I know you Addicts keep referencing the correlation between nightmares and storytellers, but I’m just trying to spell it out here in terms of neighbor visits for those of us that can be a little slow on the uptake. 😉
Also, “12 bunnies short of an upgrade” sounds like an insult in the vein of “a few sandwiches short of a picnic.” Just a random observation there. 😀

  29. Like many other, I also have problems with visiting neighbours. Loading each town seems to take a lot longer than usual. In response I cleared out my town a bit, but it is starting to fill up with Halloween stuff now…

And a few observations from the blobby things: Some vanish after one tap, some I have to hit four times – is this linked to the “freshness” maybe? The older it is, the less taps to clear it? Or do several combine to make one big creature? I never have 10 blobs to tap, but all taps might add up to about 10.
About the stuff they give out: Every time I get the message about neighbours that helped me, I almost exclusively get stuff I am collecting in my town at that moment. Example: I am now collecting ribcages, the last pop-up said I got 71 ribcages, and 1 bunny ear (which I collected immediately before the ribcages). So the stuff is not quite random, is it? In contrast, the stuff that falls out of them when I tap them in my town is a mixture of all four materials.
Somehow these blobs are still a bit of a mistery to me, I haven’t quite figured out how they are supposed to work, and how to maximise their effect. Plus, I seem to accumulate them more quickly than I can drop them off.

    • Seems like they combine. I just had 1 I had to tap 6 times (got pay outs each time) and they were all from different neighbors.

      • Hmm… I’m noticing something different…. If a neighbor drops off, say, 5 terrors, they all seem to be clumped together into one terror that I have to chase and tap 5 times. But, if different people leave me terrors, they seem to appear as separate terrors. So, I might see 4 terrors running around my town (meaning 4 separate neighbors left me terrors), but those 4 might actually represent, say, 11 terrors, if one person dropped off 3, another dropped off 6, and the other 2 dropped off 1 apiece.

I’ll keep watching though, to see if I’m mistaken….

        • It happens. Some of them “freak out” and don’t move from same spot, so stacked. Other times they move in sync… so yah… I’ve seen up to two others behind one after I tapped it.

      • Ignore my reply…I was wrong. One terror did give me stuff from several different neighbors just now. My bad!

  30. Thanks for your hard work! As always, it is much appreciated. <3

I disconnected my monorail stations and starting sending most characters on inside tasks in the hopes to keep the memory load down.

Sorry to my neighbors, visiting is so slow for me right now that I've only managed to visit a handful.
