Turbo Tappin’ THOH 2015: My Brother’s Keeper (Hugo)

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The 2015 THOH Event hit our devices recently and with it arrives a whole bunch of new quests.  Main quests and side quests, loads of things to keep us all busy tappin’ away over the next few weeks!

We’ve covered the main and basic side quests for Act 1 in our Turbo Tappin’ post here, but within those side quests there are even more quests.  A web of quests if you will.  Once you’ve completed part of A Proper Rigellian Thanksgiving, which is a a crafting side quest, you’ll launch a questline involving everyone’s favorite rejected Simpson…Hugo.

So let’s take a look at Hugo’s quest now…

turbotappinTHOH2015

The Following questline is NOT critical to completing the THOH Event.  It’s essentially a side quest, that if you’d like you can ignore.  It will not hinder your progress in moving onto Act 2 when it hits.  The only questline you need to complete to move onto Act 2 is The Call of the Campfire (including the little quest at the end with Homer and Marge titled The Unspeakable).

This questline will appear after you’ve completed A Proper Rigellian Thanksgiving Pt. 3 (crafting Hugo).  If you already have Hugo these will start after you’ve completed A Proper Rigellian Thanksgiving Pt. 2 (Crafting the spooky house)….

My Brother’s Keeper Pt. 1
Bart starts

Make Hugo Eat Fish Heads- 4hrs, Earns $175, 45xp
Make Bart Lose his Lunch- 4hrs, Earns $175, 45xp

My Brother’s Keeper Pt. 2

Make Bart Practice Stitching Things Together- 1hr, Earns $70, 17xp

My Brother’s Keeper Pt. 4
Hugo starts

Make Hugo Eat Fish Heads- 4hrs, Earns $175, 45xp
Make Youngsters Eat Lunch at their Desks- x5. 1hr, Earns $70, 17xp Freemium and$105, 26xp Premium
Make Bart Try to Eat Fish Heads- 4hrs, Earns $175, 45xp

My Brother’s Keeper Pt. 5
Hugo starts

Make Bart Try to Sew him and Hugo Together- 4hrs, Earns $350, 90xp
Make Homer Go Up There- 2hrs, Earns $110, 27xp

My Brother’s Keeper Pt. 6
Bart starts

Make Bart Realize It’s Good to be Bad- 2hrs, Earns $110, 27xp
Make Hugo Sleep in Simpson Attic- 24hrs, Earns $600, 150xp

And that completes Hugo’s new side quest that’ll popup during Act 1!

Again this quest is NOT critical to moving onto Act 2 and you can completely ignore it if you’d like.  It will not hinder your progress on the event itself.

What are your thoughts on Hugo’s quest?  Thoughts on the questline and dialogue?  Thoughts on THOH so far?  Enjoying the web of quests that keep popping up?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Is this questline the same one we got last year when Hugo first arrived? If so, it seems that when they decided to recognize the folks who already had the Spooky House from last year, it kicked off this quest again. If this is true and I ignore it, will the icon for it go away once the event is over? Or am I doomed to repeat it if I don’t want it stuck in my task book forever?

    • That we can’t answer. It seems a lil similar, but not exact

      • Okay, thanks. I’m keeping my kids on perpetually s’mores making (those poor little ones have SUCH a tummy ache!), so I guess I won’t find out for a long while. I don’t see any real benefit to completing this questline, so I’m not gonna worry about it and just wait and see what happens. Now, if it ended with a prize of some sort (behind the usual token amount of money/XP), that would be a different story! 😉

  2. I am only almost halfway to the portal (final prize of this Act) and wonder if placing or crafting Halloween items or doing the Hugo side quest would help me get more s’mores.
Does the Hugo quest trigger another quest?
Is the a calendar for s’mores?
    Many thanks in advance.

  3. I had spooky cabins from last year so I didn’t craft any new ones but this quest line just unlocked for me so they must have gotten tired of the complaints.

  4. Just curious thanx by the way for the info about the stuff in the shop
Anyway just curious the doughnut tourture device is available to buy
For 80 doughnuts I know it was free I think at one point
But is it worth 80 D’s it looks so cool the homer animation

  5. Are they going to give us better prizes to buy
I mean skins and that’s it there’s jack all
I was hoping for kodos or witch marge something new anything

  6. Hi, question: I had Bart “losing his lunch” while Hugo roasted smores and Martin spawned zombies. When those + all the other smores tasks finished, it appeared as if I got skeletons instead of zombies even though I am *positive* I had Martin telling the story and Bart was not even at the campfire. I wish I had thought to grab a screen cap but I didn’t even process what I was tapping on until it was too late. Any thoughts? Thanks!

    • Let me ask you this… did you switch the story before or AFTER they were already making S’mores? Can’t change an already active task.

      • That’s exactly what happened to me. I was all “What the what?” However, there is a workaround if you feel like you need a different Nightmare and you don’t want to wait four hours for all the kids to finish making S’mores. Just store the buildings they come with and then place the buildings again, and the kids will be freed up to start making S’mores with the new Nightmare in place. For example, store Bart’s Treehouse and then place it again, and Bart will be freed up for a new task. It doesn’t work for all kids–you can’t store the Simpsons house, so you can’t reset Lisa, for example–but it works for enough to get them creating the right Nightmares. (P.S. I didn’t figure that out on my own–it came to me because I read a comment on Alissa’s My Brother’s Keeper post. Alissa, Bunny, Wookie and the community of users on this site are a-mah-zing. 😉 )

        Hope that helps!

        • True. Canceling their tasks will kick them out… if they can be kicked. Then you can start a new on. Just got to make sure people know that the task has to be set after the Nightmare is changed. 🙂

      • Right, right, right. That was an important detail I left out–store the buildings, re-place the buildings, THEN MAKE SURE THE RIGHT NIGHTMARE IS SPAWNING, and *then* re-send the kids to make S’mores!

      • It’s certainly possible that I had sent the kids first and then did the story… I can’t remember. I’ve been pretty much starting the story, then the smores shortly after, and then 4 hrs later checking how far away I am from upgrade before sending the next kid to tell a story.

Gah! Tapped Out is supposed to be my mindless entertainment. This event is requiring way too much active thought on my part!

      • Oh, and @Patty Love, THANK YOU! I didn’t know that about storing buildings. I just finished a snake upgrade and have Lisa telling a story with 3 hours to go. Wish I could kick her out. Except the kids would still produce snakes, right?

@Bunny, is there a list of characters and their corresponding buildings somewhere?

        Thanks.
For the night is dark and full of formless terrors.

    • @sherideeee23, that’s right–the kids would still be producing snakes. Even if you stopped their tasks by storing their buildings, you can’t stop Lisa’s storytelling, so you’re stuck. I totally agree with you about how much brain power this event is taking! And I love how everyone is telling Alissa, Bunny and Wookie how hard they must be working, and they’re all “Nah, this is one of the easier events.” It gives me confidence that when I have been around the game as long as they have, I won’t struggle so much. 😉

  7. If the quest is still available when the event ends, I’ll do it then. Otherwise, I’m keeping Bart ‘n’ Hugo churning out nightmares and s’mores!
