Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Well here we are, in most Tappers favorite time of the year in Springfield….Halloween! (although I prefer Christmas 😉 ) The leaves on the tress have changed colors, the water is murky and there’s a darkness that falls over our TSTO screens. All of these effects fit in perfectly with this year’s theme….Nightmares.
This Event is broken up into 3 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story. To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act. Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event. For the first Act you’re tasked with collecting S’mores (
) to unlock each prize!
The third Act 1 prize awarded at 2,160 (or +1,620 from unlocking the Spooky Cabin) is Pirate Kang, an all new hilarious costume for everyone’s favorite Alien Kang!
So let’s take a closer look at this third prize and just what happens when you unlock them it your Springfield…
Once you’ve collected 2,160 (or 1620 more from prize two) you’ll automatically be awarded Pirate Kang and you’ll see this message popup:
IF you don’t currently have Kang the costume will automatically be stored in your inventory…
And the costume will be hanging out in your inventory until you unlock Kang…
Kang has been a free character for the last couple of years now…so the only way you won’t have him is if you started playing AFTER 4th of July 2015. However, the good news is he’s still free and you can get him during THOH 2015 as well. He’ll be awarded to you during the A Proper Rigellian Thanksgiving questline. So don’t ignore that one if you don’t already have Kang.
If you already have Kang, you’ll unlock his costume right away…
And he’s part of the Treehouse of Horror XXVI Freaks Character Set:
Pirate Kang does come with a fun questline and some hilarious outdoor tasks. First, let’s take a look at his questline:
Captain Kang Pt. 1
Kang starts
Make Pirate Kang Walk on Peg Tentacles- 4hrs, Earns $260, 70xp
Captain Kang Pt. 2
Kang starts
Reach Level 12 and Build the Springfield Library
Make Pirate Kang Research Pirates- 4hrs, Earns $260, 70xp

We will have the full dialogue version of this and various other character unlock quests at the end of the event….so if you missed something in the dialogue don’t worry, we’ll post it for you.
Pirate Kang does come with some tasks, but not many. Here’s a look at his short task list..

I am new, but my problem is a bit different. I have Kang in my inventory then the Pirate Kang unlocked, I got disconnected and when I reconnect, I couldn’t find Pirate Kang costume anywhere. I thought I have to use Kang first, but when I do, I still can’t see the Pirate Kang costume. Please help what else should I do. Really appreciate. Thanks. my reddit acct. is magnustx. Double check your whole inventory…sometimes they like to hide. If you still don’t see it contact EA

While the tasks are entertaining, neither of them delighted me enough to replace Evil Chortle as Kang’s go-to task.
I love Kang so pirate Kang is a great twist. I wish there were a 12 hour task so I could use him regularly after the event. I’d love to have him pegging his way around my town. The 8hr tasks are too hard for me to coordinate but I succeed with 12hr time spans without leaving too much cash on the table.
The Donut Model (seems a tad sexist) I think they should add a Male counterpart to balance things out. So I request we get a Stud MUFFIN as well :p
but while I’m thinking of it, I guess I’d like a Dozen Donut Models too.

Is anyone else missing nightmares? I only received 23 when I should have received 34 from kids at the campfire. No wonder it’s taking me so long to get to the next level. I’ll have to check s’mores next time. Very slow going on those, so maybe I’m missing those, too. My son also sent me 10 terrors and I never received them.
How come I have some neighbors whose children have on last year’s Halloween costumes? I searched through my kids and I see no “go trick or treating” task like last year (that’s how I remember my kids with the costumes, with that task).
It’s not a quest. It’s a visual glitch that’s been happening for a while now…it’s related to the nightmare pile, whether the neighbor has it or not.
I don’t have the nightmare pile and when I visit one of my secondary Springfields, I see al the kids running around in Halloween costumes.
Yea it’s a glitch from it whether you have it or not. It started happening as soon as the nightmare pile coding hit the files. It happens in neighbors towns whether they have it or not and whether you have it or not.
Pirate Kang is awesome. I’m assuming the fairy godmother skin is for Kodos and hopefully we’ll either get Kodos or be able to craft it.
I have Kodos, so the one I would like to hav is Serak The Preparor.
I love Pirate Kang! It makes me laugh seeing him walk around on his numerous peg tentacles! Hoping that Kodos is going to be available soon – though since there is a costume for Kodos listed in the character listings, I imagine Kodos will be available for donuts or through crafting. It would make no sense to have a costume for a character that wasn’t available for new users.

First off, I wanted to say thank you for reply on a previous post. It’s good to know Kodos may make a return since Kang is starting to get pretty lonely (I first started playing during the last Treehouse of Horror event). Can’t wait to have him in my town with Kang 🙂 Second, you mentioned you didn’t think Maude’s Ghost would show up this time around. Odd, considering that Halloween would be the perfect time to have a Premium ghost character available. Do you think she’ll return anytime in the near future? It would be awesome to have a ghost roaming the streets of my Springfield and is one of three characters left on my “must have” checklist 🙂
Lastly, off topic-question. Due to outside issues going on, I wasn’t able to participate much in the Monorail event. I have everything built, but I have an unfinished track. I see that in the same setting you can build roads, monorail tracks still show up, but I can’t select them. Post-event, is it still possible to add more tracks to the Monorail? Seems like it would be an awesome addition to have it circling my town. Thanks for reading for all of the hard work you do keeping us updated on this awesome game!

The track is the storage for the track, can’t actually make it from there. The only way to get more track now is via the Rail Yard.

It’d be hilarious if they made a storyline for Model Donut and actually filled out (see what I did there?) the character.

Yeah tell me about it, it’s pretty tedious having to tap all the numerous extra stuff, especially the spectre things which spawn multiple times once tapped.
Im excited for acts 2 n 3! I hope they bring back the cemetery and mausoleum. It can stay halloween all year round if ya ask me but ya didnt so… anyways- id like to share the following…I put all of my SH items and buildings into my stash and am currently setting up a halloween town in its place! Its so much fun and an awesome reason to keep crafting tents, spooky houses etc…always wanted my own Halloween town and now i have one! Just might keep it that way for good! Lol

Question, Ive crafted everything I want and now I’m just building up brains, bones, eggs and rabbit ears. Can I save these for act 2 crafting or am I wasting my time and should just build whatever I can in act 1? Wondering if these will be applicable in act 2.

This is a totally unrelated topic, but has anyone else noticed that they can build more pieces for the boardwalk? I happened to tap on it earlier and was able to start building a new piece.
That happened a while ago (I believe it was during Tap Ball)
