Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Well here we are, in most Tappers favorite time of the year in Springfield….Halloween! (although I prefer Christmas 😉 ) The leaves on the tress have changed colors, the water is murky and there’s a darkness that falls over our TSTO screens. All of these effects fit in perfectly with this year’s theme….Nightmares.
This Event is broken up into 3 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story. To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act. Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event. For the first Act you’re tasked with collecting S’mores (
) to unlock each prize!
The third Act 1 prize awarded at 5,040 (or +2,880 from unlocking Pirate Kang) is the Model Donut, an amusing NPC for our Springfield’s.
So let’s take a closer look at this fourth prize and just what happens when you unlock it your Springfield…
Once you’ve collected 5,040 (or 2,880 more from prize three) you’ll automatically be awarded the Model Donut and you’ll see this message popup:
Remember if you store her you’ll have to go into your inventory to retrieve her…
If you choose to place her in your town right away you’ll see this character unlock message:
And she’s part of the Treehouse of Horror XXVI Freaks Character Set:
The Model Donut is an NPC for your Springfield, which means she won’t have any tasks. She’ll basically just roam around your town and when you tap on her she’ll do a little leg kick. That’s basically it.
She will come with a short (1 part) little questline that involves a task for Homer. If you have Cecil Terwilliger you’ll see dialogue from him in this, but if you don’t have Cecil Prof. Frink we’ll basically be the icon instead of Cecil.

Cecil or Prof. Frink: I’ve done it! My hybrid between human and pastry is alive!
Homer: She’s the most beautiful woman slash donut I’ve ever seen.
Model Donut: Stop drooling over me! All you men see is that I’m a donut with shapely legs. What about what’s inside? My intelligence and spirit and Bavarian Cream? I’ll find someone who can appreciate all that I am!
Homer: She ran away. I hate when my breakfast does that.
Cecil or Prof. Frink: When I decided to create sentient food my critics kept saying, “Consider the ethics!” – At the time, I didn’t understand what they meant. I still don’t. Do you know what an “Ethic” is?
Homer: All I know is that I’m dipping empty fingers in my coffee. Ow.
Make Homer Lament About the One That Got Away- 8hrs, Earns $420, 105xp
And that’s it to this fourth sweet prize!
What’s Next?
Gate to Nowhere the fifth, and final, Act 1 prize, which will be awarded at 9,270 (or +4,230 from the Model Donut). This will be the next prize we cover in a prize rundown post.(FYI this is NOT just another random useless decoration. This gate will spawn random nightmares…we’ll break it all down in our next prize post!0

4 hours before act 3 ends, I went and bought her for 5 donuts. I just missed out on unlocking her in act 1 by a few s’mores as I was on a low rank and hadn’t unlocked many kids yet. For some reason I really like this NPC.
Quick question u guys, should we use up all the brains, ears, ribs & stuff up before act 2 starts? Due to the fact that the prizes will be different or hang on to them in case? I bought all the trees & the 2 horror houses.
Hang on to them… they will carry over to Act II.
Just a precaution to those who have stored the model donut NPC, check to see if it’s in your inventory. Mine has vanished so as Alissa suggested I will contact EA. Thanks guys!

I’ve been waiting all year for Treehouse of Horror… the only thing I don’t like so far is we have to pay for a costume with donuts!!! We should just get the costumes there’s enough things with donuts that we have to pay for.
First NPC I’ve ever stored due to the fact it creeps the hell out of me. But as this is a horror event I can’t complain too much

Slightly off-topic questing, but I’m not sure how many people are still reading the Visiting Neighbors thread…
My Other Springfield only ever has snakes in it…never see any skeletons, zombies, or bunnies. Are other folks seeing the same thing? If not, is there some one other nightmare that your Other Springfield only ever shows, or do you see different nightmares there on different days?
it shows snakes, but rewards you with whatever’s spawning from your campfire at the time… at least, that’s what I’m getting.

Yep. But I’m not sure it adds to campfire upgrade counts, since they’re always snakes (unless your campfire is set to snakes). I haven’t gotten around to checking.
I like her a lot. The posing animation when tapped never fails to lighten me up.
Hi. Sorry this is probably the wrong place to put this. I was just wondering at what rate nightmares spawn as I am about a day behind on smores and I cannot see any other way to collect them. That is for all you do 🙂
every 15 minutes. The number depends on your level.
Not sure if I’m just being a bit of a Halloween update grinch but this event so far has been a bit meh for me. Not too interested in any of the prizes, and after crafting the impossible tower and a spooky grove at day 2 I’ve been accumulating crafting materials. Which is a shame as the prizes for halloween 2013 and 2014 were mainly awesome, and there were great things that could have been offered as prizes). But then we’ve had quite a lot of special events this year, so I guess they can’t all be winners for everybody. Is anyone else feeling this or am I just grumpy?
It’s neat to see a comeback of the bunnies and interesting to see what whacking day event ( which I missed) would have been like – those snakes are harder to spot!
I’m finding this event easier than the past…am not trying too hard and way ahead of the curve, which is a nice respite from past events which were a constant grind!

I orig thought she was going to be a playable character but still like her a lot, even as an NPC. Sorta whimsical & cute. For me, anything donut in the game is good. Still love the donut machine from last year. Forget the actual name of it but the one Homer sits on and feeds him donuts. On an entirely separate note, have you heard from Bunny? Hope she is doing ok! I know she had some sort of emergency to attend to. Is her Mom ok? I’m missing her over at her over at the angry people’s site. 😉
Of course..I always hear from Bunny 😉 She’s fine. Everyone’s fine. She just had to help out a family member with a non-life threatening situation. Vague but specific enough for you? lol

MD went right into storage and there she will stay til event is over then might do quest and then restore.With all the neighbor visit issues why add more to the mix. I got a new device quad 4 processor, lollipop TSTO IS the only app I downloaded and not even at 4500 yet so really think issue is all EA. Anyway just placed portal about 3 hours ago so super excited about that
EA is the issue for what. Neighbor visits? Crashing? Not sure what you’re experiencing.
I can tell you I have ZERO problems lag wise or crashing on my Galaxy S6
Just got an s6. Was having minimal lag on my s3 but now everything is perfect. Have been lucky with no crashing ever on either devices.
I realize that just kind of venting as I have issues both with lagging and crashing when visiting neighbors but only during events and from posts I read looks pretty common. And I realize that I am not helping myself by not contacting EA but just experienced a huge loss and using the game to escape for short periods not really up to dealing with the run around others post they have gotten from EA. Will do so when I can cope. Thanks for all you guys do for us.
So my screen for the daily task was jumbled again. Is this another glitch? 🙁

I’m feeling the same way. I don’t have any of the premium kids, so it makes the smores output way lower than some I’ve seen ( I have one neighbor that was at 10k doughnuts about four days ago!). I know I ground out the monorail event like no one’s business, and just barely got the rail station. But I feel like this event really favors the premium players, because of all the kids you have to burn doughnuts on to have a decent number of campfire stories to tell. I mean, it’s been fun, but I really hope I can hit the goal for the Gate to Nowhere in five days…
It’s a fun prize even if it is a NPC. Model Donut is out in my town but I rarely see her as she seems to have settled in Springfield Heights.
She’s creepy and useless. Would have preferred donut head Homer skin. He could walk around eating himself and have tasks like run from pecking birds or something. I’m new (player since Tap Ball) so maybe this was offered before?

I have the Model Donut walking around the road moat (of my Campfire site) walking past the DIE(T) sign and donut torture device.
Just would like EA to give us Donut Head Homer or Homer’s Fantasy Land (of Chocolate) so he can happily prance around 🙂

mmmmmm. I like it when she spins around repeatedly. might just be a glitch though. comic book guy was doing a weird little dance as well this morning.
Earned ‘Model Donut’, completed Homer quest, and then stored MD (since it is an NPC). Now… cannot find MD in inventory. Did this happen to anyone else? Ideas to find/fix?

Best advice is check your ENTIRE inventory…the main list. Generally stuff gets placed there instead of individual categories. If you still don’t see her contact EA.
Yeah… Once the quest was complete and Model didn’t actually contribute to my springfield’s jobs, I stored her along with every other NPC that I’ve ever collected…
She’s cute, but just another NPC that I need to store right now.
