THOH Prize Guide: Act 2, Prize 4…Elder Blimp

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Well here we are, in most Tappers favorite time of the year in Springfield….Halloween!  (although I prefer Christmas 😉 )  The leaves on the tress have changed colors, the water is murky and there’s a darkness that falls over our TSTO screens.  All of these effects fit in perfectly with this year’s theme….Nightmares.

This Event is broken up into 3 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story.  To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act.  Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event.  For the second Act you’re tasked with collecting Gummies (ico_thoh2015_eldergodcandy_md) to unlock each prize!

The fourth Act 2 prize awarded at 5,040 ico_thoh2015_eldergodcandy_md (or +2,880ico_thoh2015_eldergodcandy_md from unlocking Clockwork Bart) is the Elder Blimp, an animated decoration for our Springfield’s.

The Elder Blimp is simply an animated decoration for your Springfield.  Nothing too exciting…no questline, no task telling you to place to earn more ico_thoh2015_eldergodcandy_md.  Just simply an animated decoration for Springfield.

Here are some quick facts about the Elder Blimp:

elderblimp_menu

Size: 2×2 base (floats in the air over that size)
Build Time: Instant
Conform-O-Meter Impact:
Consumerism +5
Where Can I Place It?: Grass/Pavement/Boardwalk/Beach
What Does it Do?:  It’s basically a big giant balloon (Reminds me of the parade balloons) so it’s animated, as if it’s blowing in the wind.  The arms do move up and down as well.

And that’s it to this fourth prize!

What’s Next?
tentacorphq_menu Tenta Corp HQ the fifth, and final, Act 2 prize, which will be awarded at 9,270 ico_thoh2015_eldergodcandy_md (or +4,230 ico_thoh2015_eldergodcandy_md from the Elder Blimp).  This will be the next prize we cover in a prize rundown post.

  1. I keep seeing friends send their kids on trick or treat missions, but I can’t do the same. Anyone know why, or how I can send kids trick or treating?

  2. I am currently at level 42 on my campfire, I was curious if anyone else has been getting level ups that they shouldn’t have gotten. Several times now my campfire has needed let’s say skeletons for the level up, but it was spawning zombies and I didn’t bother to change it, so I was blissfully squishing zombies and all of a sudden, BAM level up! The campfire then seemed to glitch out, and I had to relog, but the level up stayed and the prizes I earned are in my inventory.

    • Yes – many people here have been doing that intentionally for a while now, so they can collect brains to make wailing walls for their 2.25% bonus. 6-hour campfire should continue to level up and you should earn bramble hedges each time it does.

  3. Should we keep earning gummies after unlocking the Tentacle HQ?

  4. Ahhhh just seen the answer above … Ignore previous post sorry 😆

  5. Any point in collecting gummies after completing the fifth and final task tenta corp hq thing… Or will they just go missing when act 3 starts?

  6. Help Please.
Earlier today I unlocked the Tenta Corp HQ building. The message popped up when I went into Krustyland. It asked if i wanted to place or store so i decided to try and place it just to see if it would let me. It did. So it was building (4 hours) in Krustyland even though I didn’t want it there. There was no option for me to put it in storage so I left it and went back to my Springfield. Later I went back to Krustyland to check on it and it is gone!! I looked in my inventory and its not there either. The status icon for act 2 shows it as checked but I can’t find it anywhere. Any clue where it might have gone or how I can get it back?

  7. I love all the Cthulhu imagery brought into the game by this event. I love the fact that, for once, I got to see an item in the game before I actually saw it on the show (in the “Halloween of Horror” episode). So even though I didn’t really need any boost in consumerism, I’m quite happy with this prize 🙂

  8. I unlocked it last week, not really a fan. Love Kodos, Hugo and the Raven though.. the 3 highlights for me.

  9. This is probably my favorite prize so far, because I can put it next to my oil drill as an homage to South Park 🙂

  10. Hi Tappers,
sorry if this is a dupe, I may have hit a wrong button somewhere on my last post. I am just wondering how far everyone is upgrading their campfire. I reached level 41 today. Just curious how others are doing.
    Thanks

  11. Hey there Tappers!
I am curious, how far is everyone upgrading the campfire? I have been slaving away and have made it to level 41. I have enjoyed the more relaxed pace of this event. Good Times as always!

    • Since you can upgrade tapping on whatever nightmare you like (not just what it asks you for), after I reached level 30 or so I started focusing on zombies for crafting wailing walls, but my campfire never stopped upgrading. So I lost count, to be honest…

      • I have had one campfire upgrade since dedicating myself to zombies only, taking me to 39…but not another (yet).

So my current theory is that you need a spooky story, then the subsequent 200 nightmares count, whatever their nature. And I’m testing this’un out today.

That is my theory, it is mine and belongs to me, I own it and what it is too. A. Elk (Miss)

        • Nice Python reference (although I think it’s a wee bit off…)! 🙂

          • It’s a direct lift from the script, so not particularly off at all!

And, what’s more, I have it on good authority that C’thulu himself is very thin at one end, much, much thicker in the middle, and then thin again at the far end.

    • Mine is at level 25 right now. I haven’t made leveling a priority because the tents and stuff are kinda boring, and wailing walls are not boring. Also, I have thousands of skeletons and nothing to do with them, so if upgrades want skeletons, too bad, it’s useless currency to me.
It does glitch out and level itself up every couple days, though. Even if it didn’t, I’d still focus on wailing walls. (And spooky walls, to an extent. Their multiplier isn’t impressive, but it’s there, and they look nice.)

    • Completely agree best paced event thus far!

As for the campfire I continue to just cycle through the nightmares I’m currently down to telling one story specific and level up each time after tapping nightmares around town. My plan from the beginning was just to collect the crafting materials and then after act 3 then spend so I continue to save up.

  12. I haven’t been a fan of M’nther (or whatever), All the Branding. Ontop of the Gate to NoWhere, Moe’s, Kill-E-Mart etc. am starting to think this is TRUMP-incarnate.

BUT I do like the Balloon (Elder Blimp). Very nifty design and size is just right for Creeping behind trees or buildings. 🙂

  13. It feels like I’m not earning gummies at the rate that I should be. With over a dozen children spawning nightmares, plus all the adults earning gummies directly it seems like I should be over 1,000 a day. But I’m not. Is this an issue you’ve heard of? I haven’t decided if I care enough to do the math and contact EA…..

  14. Is anyone else finding this event to be much easier than previous events? I unlocked all the prizes with a week to go until the next act starts. Now i am just hoarding reaources so i can buy a ton of stuff before the event ends. I went back to the monorail too just to see if I can get the five bonuts in addition to the 20 we get from the shopkeeper.

Also, did anyone else get offered a special when they logged in today? Doesnt seem worth the donuts to me.

  15. I am sure you know but there is a ridiculously highly priced Gill deal on : /

  16. Alissa, come quick,
Unconfirmed reports of Gil deal are circulating 🎃

  17. ‘Morning. Have you received any special offer from the good Ol’ Gil?

  18. I really hope we all get a super special spooky prize just for logging in on the 31st …Halloween! ♡

  19. I got it last week…..but I didn’t want to mention it in case it was a special deal just for me, and others might feel excluded and get angry at EA 😀

but seriously, I tethered it in the Simpsons back yard so it looks like it’s floating above the house 🎃 🙂

    • I’ve posted it on the flickr page now 🙂 🎃

    • Stirrer…… 🙂

      • Did you like that Phil? 🙂

On a different subject, I was trying to tell Sandra about Ronnie Barker, …. Four candles/fork handles …she’s never heard of it…..I said you would agree, good comedy 🙂

      • Yup, the man was an absolute legend with words . Fork handles is a classic . Also the rhyming slang Vicar who picks up “a small brown Richard the third” in the street . Sandra – try the interweb thingy under “The Two Ronnies”
The wordplay in some of their sketches is utterly brilliant .
Barker wrote a lot of material under a pseudonym and submitted it and it was used for “The Two Ronnies” for sometime before he owned up . Shows the level of brilliance , that the BBC accepted the material as good enough to use , thinking it came from, at worst an amateur writer or at best , a previously unknown genius .
Greatly missed genius master of his craft….

    • And it’s goodnight from me…

  20. I just got the Tenta Corp building today. Are there any extra bonuses or donuts for continuing to get gummies? I assume they disappear after act 2 as well?

  21. Got the balloon yesterday but didn’t really know where to put it. I decided to just place it next to the kwik-E-mart. 😛

On the side note, I spent my donuts from the frink offer to buy the drive in theater and the alien blob thingy, was a hard decision since I was waiting for some really nice gil deals, but this was too good to pass by. I am glad I purchased it, the tasks are hilarious! 😀

    • It’s a good buy. I meant to get it last year but completely forgot to buy it before we went on vacation (we were away when THOH ended last year)…so glad I can get it again this year 🙂

    • A new Gil deal just came out – 225 donuts for a “Sepulcher of Evil” that spawns nightmares

  22. Aloha again. Question…. Once we have obtained prize 5 Tenta Corp HQ, should we stop doing tasks for Gummies, and have our adults go back to earning cash? Or do the excess gummies convert to whatever Act 3 will be?

Thank you in advance for your reply, and also for all the wonderful things you all do to help us navigate our way through our games! You all ROCK!

  23. This actually does look pretty cool. Like you said nothing to wet yourself over but nice design
