It’s Halloween in Springfield! And the adults of Springfield are showing Halloween isn’t just for kids! Now I know you may be trying to decide if the adult costumes are worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it! We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add Squirrel Luann to your Halloween party? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this adult size rodent to your Springfield!
Character/Skin: Squirrel Luann
Donut Price: 80 donuts
Pros:
-Comes with a quest line
-Premium skin for a premium character, so it earns 50% more on all cash and xp than a freemium character…for the skin or regular Luann.
-Has all outdoor tasks
Cons:
-Will not help with the THOH Event
-Does not have a full set of tasks, just two tasks. (4hr and 8hr)
-Outdoor tasks are kind of lame

Honestly I really don’t think this one is worth it. First of all, if you have Luann she’s already premium…so why spend the extra 80 donuts for more premium tasks? Second, her two tasks are kind of lame. In my opinion this one is just a total waste of donuts…skip it.
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do…and I can tell you I’ll be passing on this one. However, this IS a limited-time item. So if you’re thinking about getting it make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games.

Thanks Alissa! The new bundle for the cat lady confused me, as I didn’t had her, but I thought buying the skin automatically gave me the character. I now understand the bundle had the character.
So to be clear I don’t have the character.
But if I get this costume does it got to my inventory till I do have the character? Or does work as it’s own character till Luann is bought?
Do I get Luann the character with it? If so do I get the building with her?
It will stay in your inventory until you get Luann. Once you have Luann, you go to your inventory and click “Use” on the Squirrel Luann skin.
The price deterred me, but I wish I had gotten her. The squirrel outfit is really cute.
She’s quite foxy for a squirrel!

Question… For the Bio-hazard walls… do you guys place the blinking light facing in or out? I realized that if you put the blinking light facing inside instead of out, then the walls line up at the corners without needing the towers.. it also kind of makes more sense
It’s annoying that the orange lights on the wall pieces blink, but not on the towers… what’s up with that?
It’s nice to have walls that are reversible… so many things in this game can’t be turned backwards and it’s really annoying.. I really wish that all the buildings could be turned backwards.
Thank you for the ‘Should I Buy…” rundown. From what I could tell, her premium outfit was only useful as kinda-sorta eye candy; I really appreciate confirmation.
As to the naysayers, well… I do agree that last year’s Halloween was much better, but the storyline this year was entertaining. AND, thanks mainly to the Wailing Walls, I’ve increased my Springfield’s bonus by more than 100%! That alone makes the event worthwhile. (Super-expensive prestige items, here I come!) Oh, and can’t forget the 20 bonus donuts every week!
Good point, I shouldn’t complain. I just wish these skins, any of them, were worth getting.

I uh.. Never noticed how shapely Luann was before.. But that Milhouse face. X-p. I think it was a mistake to drag this out half a month after Halloween but I always think of it like this.. Now everything they do is just me putting stuff aside for next year. Think of it like shopping for discounted decorations the day after the holiday is over cause you can use them for next year. So light now all I can do really is just build jack o lanterns and spooky trees that I can set up for next year when they decide to disappoint me with THOH XXVII.
Are you calling this year’s event a “discount event”?
I’m having the same problem with missing skeletons. I’m so sick of this event. EA can’t walk and chew gum at the same time. I’d rather have shorter, less complicated events that actually work. Halloween is over. This event is like a rotting jack o lantern by my front door. I hope Xmas event is better. This was a real letdown. I’m only hanging in there to get Re-Neducation Center.
I hate the events that require many many daily visits. Many of us have jobs or school. Come on EA, we don’t all sit areound all day.
They shouldn’t require it. The event prizes should be attainable by daily visit, but a good crafting score would require many visits. Then it’s the player’s choice what they go for. That would be a good setup. Right now it’s play every four hours or miss out.
I visit my town everyday and couldn’t get the HQ building. On the other hand I find craftable prizes pretty easy to get (I got like 4-5 premium kids, so maybe thats why). But yeah, this is my 1st time playing a Halloween event and it is a letdown,
I almost got Luann, but then realised that she was no longer giving event currency and the costume wasn’t useful for anything by eye candy (if you have a female Mihouse thing anyway). Maybe if it gave apples, I would have considered it.
This exactly, I actually bought her, before realizing she only had two tasks.. but ugh that right there would have stopped my purchase.. it would have ben slightly better if she had a 60min. task but nope.. also the false advertisement of her “Improved Halloween Jobs!!!” was the main reason I ultimately decided to throw down the donuts, I figured in ACT 3 the adults would take more of a center stage since it seemed Act 1 was kids, Act 2 was kids and adults…but I hope maybe she’ll have better task for later Halloweens..if they keep servers up that long…
The Halloween update has been a real major let down. 😢😢😢 Alot of us look forward to this update and EA took a big dump on us. The premium items are a joke. Balloons, a maze and a sceptre. 😡 The skins are an insult. 70-85 donuts for 7 skins with a total of 2-3 tasks for each that doesn’t even help get currency. Very disappointing halloween update. Let’s hope EA pulls out a Stone cutter Superheroesque event for X-mas.😆😆
This is my first Hallowe’en in TSTO, but from what I’ve read of past comments, I have to agree. Major let down. Premium skins for premium character? Automatic pass for me. Even the skins for the kids and Kirk I didn’t bother with. Now a skin that would be useful all year, like, I don’t know Witch Marge, that I’d buy. But no…EA doesn’t want me to spend my donuts I guess. Wanted Witch Marge, Devil Flanders and the Heck House all year since I started, and did they return? Rumored maybe to one of them, but not yet. Just got my Pumpkin Rocket ship today….9 days after Hallowe’en… yay that looks great in my town after the actual day
I’m mostly leaving everything up until the event is over. It’s still Halloween in Springfield, that’s the way I look at it.
Just a heads-up that Witch Marge, Devil Flanders and Heck House all showed up in the store this morning!

(Lol) I wasn’t sure if this was a song other people learned or not so I searched it online. I didn’t remember the other verses. If anyone is going to post the YouTube version here (I’m looking at you Bunny) I suggest the “Grey Squirl Song – Autumn songs for kids”
I really think premium skins for premium charcters should make them super premium, like “see my vest” Burns.

I’m just confused how I’m supposed to fulfill today’s shopkeeper task of squishing skeletons when I only have Bart & Database hunting them in the Brown House and all/MOST of my neighbors don’t even have nightmares anymore to squish… I think I’m going to miss out on this week’s 20 donuts! 🙁
You do have the whole week to get the 30 skeletons so even with only Database and Bart it should be possible. Even if you only send them hunting nightmares twice a day that’s 8 per day so you’d have enough by Thursday. 🙂
I’m finding that my skeletons aren’t spawning today, that’s despite sending them all in separate houses and making sure there are no other nightmares in my town at the time. The other ones spawn just fine just not the skeletons!
I found that there seems to be a base brown house. So which ever brown house I spawn the nightmares I have found them outside the base one. Only noticed today when I was looking for the skeletons.
I don’t like this challenge either. My gateway to nowhere spawned everything except skeletons this mornings, and since Bart was fighting the monster last night, I only had Database generating skeletons. So I only have 2 skeletons so far. This is going to take forever!
I’ve found that the nightmares tend to appear by the “main” brown house. If you click on the “do it” button by the task in the shopkeeper’s challenge, it’ll take you to the house the game has designated the main brown house. I’ve moved mine near my campfire so it’s easier to get to and tap nightmares.
Yeah I do this too and going to the ‘base’ house works for all the other nightmares but not the skeletons. And when I click on ‘Do it’ on the house of evil task clock it just takes me to that base house (i.e. prompting me to send the kids on the task) which makes me think that they’re just not in my town.
That *IS* weird. I would contact EA, then…
You don’t have to complete this task today, you just have to complete all tasks before the week is over. If you don’t complete it today, you’ll just miss out on the bonus prize of the crafting currency. It’s okay. 🙂
