Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Well here we are, in most Tappers favorite time of the year in Springfield….Halloween! The leaves on the tress have changed colors, the water is murky and there’s a darkness that falls over our TSTO screens. All of these effects fit in perfectly with this year’s theme….Nightmares.
This Event is broken up into 3 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story. To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act. Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event. For the Third, and final, Act you’re tasked with collecting Candy Apples (
) (yes I know they look like Caramel Apples, but the game is calling them Candy Apples) to unlock each prize!
The third Act 2 prize awarded at 2,160 (or +1,620 from unlocking Apu’s Jeep) is Holiday Homer, an all new costume for Homer!
So let’s take a closer look at this third prize and just what happens when you unlock it in your Springfield…
Once you’ve collected 2,160 (or 1620 more from prize two) you’ll automatically be awarded Holiday Homer and you’ll see this message popup:
And it will be ready for use right away…

Holiday does come with a fun questline and a couple of new tasks. First, let’s take a look at his questline:

Holiday Homer does come with some tasks, but not many. Here’s a look at his short task list..

I wonder why they are releasing so many skins with incomplete task lists? Seems like they just ran out of time programming before they had to push out the event or something. Love the look of the costume, but since I have premium skins with complete tasks, I doubt I’ll ever use this one again…
The game keeps crashing for me when I try to visit a friend. It’s also a pain to contact EA. I’ve tried numerous times and it won’t let me send them an email through their website. Help!
Try saying you’re missing an item and get the chat/call option
So far, I have only spawned 21 skeletons since yesterday. I should have spawned over 100 by my calculations. After three 4 hour rounds of hunting nightmares (based on all my kids that yield skeletons I should get 10 per 4 hours, not including Bart who is otherwise occupied) I got zero skeletons. Last night 21 appeared. Today, after two 4 our rounds, ZERO skeletons. Trying to knock out Shopkeeper’s Challenge #1. Bummer, EA. Bummer.
The same has happened to me, which means I can’t complete my daily task towards the 20 donuts!
I’m not getting any skeletons either.
Me neither. In fact, I’m not getting anything except bunnies and zombies. Even the crypt stopped giving me skeletons. Fail.
I tested this out – my crypt gives me bunnies. The pet cemetery gives me bunnies (correct). The graveyard says it will give zombies but only gives money (that was a good use of 8 donuts to test). The kids with skeleton tasks give bunnies. So, basically, skeletons are extinct. Which means I’m stuck on the first shopkeeper’s task this week, probably just like all of you.
I was disappointed in the pinching task…he didn’t pinch anyone – he just wondered aimlessly around town! 🙁
I thought he went into houses to pinch, wandering the town until he reached a house. Well, the other two temp tasks were defnintely like that, as I recall. I agree with you that it was disappointing. That’d be some nice programming…

I tried searching but couldn’t find a “should I buy?” For the Rigellian Queen. With the queen & the portal being returning items, are they worth my donuts? After all, I don’t have a “make a thing” shop, so presumably I couldn’t do their quests.
I will buy witch Marge because I already forked over for the cauldron but it’s a lot of donuts when we’ve already paid for the cauldron. Devil Flanders & the Heck House seem ludicrously overpriced with no quests.

“Make a Thing” shop is completely useless… I haven’t seen any quests for it
Holiday Homer is ok. I got the flying pumpkin yesterday. The question now is; where do I put it? Hey, I don’t want to come off as overly critical, but I believe that yesterday was the first mention on this site of the 400 apples a day for fighting the monster. I for one would have rested easier had that info been provided earlier. Anyway, I appreciate you putting childbirth on the back burner so you can get us through this event!
Two tasks? It would’ve been so easy just to keep the others from the questline around as permanent ones…

On the subject of Homer. Just wondering if Homer`s grave was a one off , or am I not looking in the right place for it in the menu ? Got one ages ago , can’t really remember when , but I`’ve seen neighbours with multiples . Still hoping to build a spooky graveyard but I think I’ll be disappointed .

It’s from an episode tie in. You could get multiples if you did a sequence of tasks a certain number of times.

Be careful what you wish for , they’ll drop another level, the shopkeeper`s challenges will glitch again and there’ll be a Frink deal only for people who are left handed . Tee hee 🙂

You got me curoius now, how would they be able to know who’s right handed and who’s left? And I want this deal!! On this world ruled by right handeds I want more privileges than left handed scissors and being able to use both hands to work on the computer (mouse wise)!!!!
Not to mention the fact that most characters on the show are lefties, so it would be very appropriate 🙂

They just did! I’m guessing Alissa’s busy trapping away and spending donuts to crank out the info on it before she goes into labor (or maybe this will push her into it…)

EA’s developers seem as bored with this game as I am.
The idea that everyone has to delete/reload their game EVERY time a new event begins is a joke. Either the software is bad, or it hasn’t been tested properly.
I wouldn’t say everyone….I never have to uninstall/reinstall when a new event hits.
I’ve never had to do that.
With “everyone” meaning “very few people at all”. The only time I’ve had to fix my game was during the monorail event when I built extensively over water. It fixed itself after the app reinstall, and I can now build over water as I like.
Some of these end so abruptly… Holiday Homer and the clockwork Bart come to mind Character: Stop Other Character: Okay *end questline*
Realized that he pays out premium for the jobs at the new holloween building skins with this outfit on.. nice little bonus if you don’t already have a premium skin for him,,, do you know if those jobs will stay around after the event? If you leave the skin on? I’m guessing not but not sure…
On a side note… I just got witch Marge from the store,,, I don’t see witch marge or devil flanders in any of the character/costume categories… did I miss it, or are not all costumes listed? I figured that maybe it used to be just characters and then they started putting costumes around Stonecutters
I believe they are on the first THOH character set. And characters skin are on the game since it started, actually it’s likely that Devil Flanders and Witch Marge were one of the firsts of the game (along with Mayan Homer and Marge).
Also, I just got Witch Marge too and she doesn’t have a questline? I was pretty sure she had but I got her and no “!” appeared. Anyone knows why?

It’s mostly just dialogue anyways. Oh, apparently kids used to be able to Trick R Treat in these events…… 😪
Holiday Homer seems like such a waste of a prize. I thought from the description he’d help earn Apple’s but nope. He’s just kind of pointless, kind of like Act Three. I feel they should have ended it with Act Two. Instead, the event is lamely sputtering out and feels forced.
I do wonder if they rushed to get the event finished… a lot of the prizes (in all Acts) have no quest, explanation, or dialogue. Holiday Homer has very limited tasks, and simply isn’t interesting to use at all.

I’ve not had much luck with this event or this game as late, after following the support forums and uninstall / reinstall…
Skeletons not spawning, game is constantly crashing when going into friends towns, overall terrible performance… Game just hangs for like 30 seconds after I click to finish the kids’ nightmare spawning jobs. Am I really the only one who’s game waits for like 30 seconds after you would click completed nightmare tasks? Can someone direct me to the direct contact information for EA? I’m using the link I used before but it’s not giving me the option to email or call. Just sending me to their forum.

As Homer J. Simpson would (probably) say, Halle Berry and praise the lard! Witch Homer, Devil Flanders and Heck House are all back in shop. Now if only I had enough donuts for all three lol guess its time to break into my wallet again.
It’s a bit disappointing that EA didn’t come up with fully tasked costumes. Every one of them has only a few tasks. Especially for this one – why only a Valentine and Easter task? There are so many more holidays out there, and they couldn’t bother to find more holiday related tasks? Well, at least this one was free…
Also, most of the ones they came up with, were for already Premium characters, at least half of them I think.
Yes, absolutely! Homer had a great St. Paddy’s task one year where he was balancing and rolling on a barrel, and this costume could have been a great way to bring it back permanently. Last Fourth of July, Homer was lighting fireworks all over town, another task they could have made permanent. Santa Homer has a task to get stuck in a chimney; they could have given this skin the same task, easily. It could have been great, and pleased a lot of veteran players who have wanted some of those holiday tasks to be permanent for a long time. Instead, it’s a skin that I’ll never use because I have a ton of skins for Homer with better tasks and full task lists. What a waste!

I’d actually love to, if they want to hire me as an idea woman. I don’t know how to program games or anything like that, though. (Maybe I should learn.)

The questline includes (indoor) Paddy’s Day and Halloween and Xmas tasks. I don’t khow why they couldn’t fluff up the task list by just leaving those in place. More holiday for Holiday Homer, even if they are not visual!
Seems strange that Holiday Homer has such a short task list but then it’s been the same for all the new event skins. The quest line was fun but this isn’t likely to be a skin I use in the future.

Holiday Homer also earns at premium if you put him on the Halloween tasks at the screamson house , krusty murder , kill e Mart etc instead of his regular tasks
