THOH Prize Guide: Act 3, Prize 5…Re-Neducation Center

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Well here we are, in most Tappers favorite time of the year in Springfield….Halloween!  The leaves on the tress have changed colors, the water is murky and there’s a darkness that falls over our TSTO screens.  All of these effects fit in perfectly with this year’s theme….Nightmares.

This Event is broken up into 3 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story.  To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act.  Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event. For the Third, and final, Act you’re tasked with collecting Candy Apples (ico_thoh2015_candyapple_md) (yes I know they look like Caramel Apples, but the game is calling them Candy Apples) to unlock each prize!

The fifth, and final, Act 3 prize awarded at 9,282 ico_thoh2015_candyapple_md (or +4,230ico_thoh2015_candyapple_md from unlocking the U.F.P) is the Re-Neducation Center, a famous THOH building for our Springfields!

Once you’ve collected 9,282 ico_thoh2015_candyapple_md  (or 4,230 more ico_thoh2015_candyapple_md from prize four) you’ll automatically be awarded the Re-Neducation Center and you’ll see this message popup:

Remember if you store it you’ll have to go into your inventory to retrieve it..

So what does it do?  Does it just sit there and look pretty?

Well…shockingly, this one comes with it’s own questline! Here’s a look at it now…

Lobotomy of Love Pt. 1
Wiggum starts

Wiggum: Okay boys, Flanders claims to have a new treatment to rehabilitate criminals.  We need to round up some perps.  We’re not allowed to racially profile, but we need a lotta guys so we’re gonna have to do some kind of profiling…People with bad haircuts, people with the number seven in their license.
Lou:
Why don’t we just look for people committing crimes?
Wiggum:
How are we gonna do that? With our special eagle-eyes? Get real.  Just pull over all the purple cars, Lou.
Make Wiggum Set Up Mandatory Checkpoints- x2. 1hr, Earns $70, 17xp
Bumblebee Man: Ay, yi, yi! I’m being arrested for being a bee!
Sea Captain:
You can’t put someone in the brink for having tartar sauce on his jacket!
Moe:
What? You’re pulling me over ‘cause I’m ugly?  You know, that actually makes sense. I get that.

Lobotomy of Love Pt. 2
Flanders starts

Ned: Welcome Crim-diddley-iminal! How’d ya like some milk and cookies?
Snake:
Whoa, that’s totally kind of you.
Ned:
Well, I believe that a warm cookie is like a hug for your insides.  And I believe this milk has a powerful sedative so you won’t be awake during the procedure!
Snake:
Oh. That makes total senz-z-z-z-z
Reach Level 19 and Build Springfield Penitentiary
Make Snake Enjoy Milk and Cookies-
2hrs, Earns $110, 27xp
Make Flanders Operate the Smile Machine- 4hrs, Earns $175, 45xp
Snake: Can’t stop smiling!!  Incredibly painful!
Ned: You might be hurting on the inside, but on the outside you’re a ray of sunshine! The procedure was a complete success!

Lobotomy of Love Pt. 3
Ned starts

Wiggum: Wow, these ex-criminals seem like completely different people.  Cheerful, happy… though they do fall to the ground a lot, clutching their heads in pain.
Ned:
But their frowns are permanently upside-down!
Send Criminals to Get Re-Neducated-
x3, 2hrs, Earns $110, 27xp
Wiggum: Uh, we’ve just noticed the smiling criminals are still committing crimes.  In fact, they have become even more violent than before…
Ned:
I think we should use this on children next.
Wiggum:
Flanders, did someone use this procedure on you?
Ned:
If they did, I’d be ding-dong-diddley glad they did!

Here are some quick facts about the neducation Center:

What’s Next?

2015-11-06 14.51.49

Congratulations, if you’ve earned the Re-Neducation Center you’ve earned ALL of the Act 3 prizes!  You’re completely done with the THOH Event!  Earning Candy Apples is now useless….so you can stop doing that.  If you want more crafting prizes you can continue to earn crafting currency.  The event itself ends on November 17th!

So that my friends is the full breakdown of the fifth and final THOH Act 3 prize!

What do you think of the Re-Neducation Center?  Where have you placed it?  Thoughts on the event overall?  Happy to be done?  Ready for something different?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Wow.. So many whining, ungrateful bar stewards… I too never got my donuts after completing the challenges.. I missed out on the final act two prize by 3… But I also got a bunch of stuff.. They could not bother with any events.. True, they do it to make money ultimately… But they always provide plenty of things for free. .
    so be grateful.

    • If they complete the challenge why shouldn’t they be bummed to not have their deal honored? How is it fine just because of the other things? Being grateful is an emotion they can decide to have, and that’s fine, but to express their grievance is okay too.

Thankfully I got all my donuts and had only marginal difficulty achieving them and with getting the prizes. Sorry that yours messed up on you.

  2. This was the worst event ever, and I’ve been playing a long time. The prizes were not as good as past games, and really, how many tents and sheds could a person need?

    • I agree, now I am saddled with far more tents and sheds and dead trees and spooky houses than should be allowed – wish I could sell them.

  3. Yeah that last act felt uninspired, they should have kept the adult tasks relevant since that was the reason the kids were fighting, it should end once they “win” aka when the event ends or something, but no, it felt like a anticlimax, also the prizes were so so, I would like to see M’nster remain as an optional façade for the sunken temple though, that looked so cool! I placed it in the middle of a circle made from palm tree islands. Sort of like skull island.

  4. So event has ended and I missed the Re-Neducation centre by just 21 apples. Turned off auto updates but still couldn’t get it done. Is it worth the 5 donuts before I let it update?

    • Not helpful now that they pushed the update, but for the future, you could still earn the final prize even after the progress bar goes away. I got mine earlier today.

  5. Are there any tasks for it after you complete the questline?

  6. Just my opinion, but the Re-Neducation Center was not a worthy final act, final prize….. Just sits there, definitely going into storage. Oh well.

  7. Act 3 stinks. As a free player who can only play twice a day it was mathematically impossible to get the ReNeducation Center. And the final Shopkeeper Challenge refuses to give me the donuts even though I finished it.

Unbelievably bad programming and design. Weird since Acts 1 and 2 were great.

    • Most people finished 3 days early, so you’re “it’s impossible” argument is invalid.

      • I’ve finished within 4 days!! Glad tho this is over!! Looking forward to Christmas, but when it is still going in Febuary, that gets old also, but do enjoy the tasks at hand!!😜

    • I am with you. I didn’t get the center either and I play daily about 2-3 times. Terrible 3rd Act.

  8. Well, I managed to clear all of m’nsther’s tentacles in the power bar at the campfire but now he won’t move to the sunken temple for me to defeat him. I only need 20 more candy apples too. Contacted ea but there was no chat option and it’s too late to call so I’m waiting on an email 🙁 c’est la vie!

  9. Wanted to give everyone a heads up involving the final quest we just recieved for this Halloween event – It says to defeat the M’nthster and sink the temple, so I of course panic with the shot amount of time left and sent my kids to fight. But out of curiosity I went and tapped the sunken temple, low and behold it counted it as a hit to the M’nthster! So I tapped the sunken temple 10 times and completed the challenge!!
I’m sure this is a glitch, but for everyone worried about not completing it in the 6 hours (only about 4 now), go tap your sunken temple and see it it works for you!

  10. Hello guys quick question what happens if you don’t have enough time to defeat “monster ” ? My game went down for four days unfortunately so I don’t think I’ll get everything done which sucks since I always finish a little early. Thank-you.
    Wes

  11. I liked this event a lot! But like others, I felt Act 3 was a bit slow.. and pointless.. I’m close to getting the Re-Neducation Center, but I don’t think I’ll make it. That’s okay, though, I’ve seen it in other Springfields & meh..

Other stuff in the event was great. We’re tired of seeing them by now, but first time I ran into a moonwalking zombie disco dancer, I literally LOL’d. Bart’s Clockwork Orange outfit is killer.

And I’m STOKED to have gotten the U.B.O. skin for Monty Burns! Fingers crossed that if EA wants to have a fast little event between Thanksgiving & Christmas, they revisit the “X-Files”-themed episode where the U.B.O. haunted Homer. That is classic Simpsons.

How cool would it be to have a Simpson-ized Mulder & Scully?? FoxTV is launching an X-Files miniseries after New Years, so there’s a natural promotional tie-in.

    Ah… we can dream…

  12. I really like this prize. I had just moved around some of the aspirational buildings in my town before I unlocked it and found a good spot for it pretty easily. I’m glad the event will be over tomorrow, it was fun but I think it went a little too long. Onto Thanksgiving and Christmas!

  13. So… here we are, just 6 hours away from the end of the event, and I just got a new quest (The Blameless City Pt. 5) to “Defeat M’nthster and Sink the Sunken Temple”. Of course, I need 8 hours to defeat him at the campfire (actually more than that, since right now it’s midnight here, so I’ll only be able to send kids to fight him again in the morning). But of course we’re not expecting the game to force us to download the THOH removal update so soon, right?

    • Force is usually within a couple of days. You can always try to push it if you want.

    • I was worried too, but for me, all I had to do was tap the sunken temple 10 times to finish the quest, even though M’nthster was fighting the kids at the campfire the whole time. There’s no visual feedback for each tap, but it works anyway.

I guess this quest is a suitable way to end this event, since like much of the event, it’s kind of broken.

    • *I already posted this as a stand alone comment, but I wanted to send it as a reply to you to be sure you receive my help!*
I wanted to give everyone a heads up involving the final quest we just recieved for this Halloween event – It says to defeat the M’nthster and sink the temple, so I of course panic with the short amount of time left and sent my kids to fight. 14. My game just launched “the blameless city part 5 requiring you to defeat m’nthster and sink the sunken temple ( 10 times ) and the event ends in 6 hours?!?! Oh wait the shopkeeper’s guide says event ends in 10 more days. Oh god the Halloween event is going to go for another 10 days. I was looking forward to a few weeks off until Christmas 🙁

  15. So I’ve completed the whole event and had all prizes. When I completed the quest line for the re-neucation center Bart popped with some dialog and now I need to defeat M’nsther and sink the sunken temple ten times… so not going to happen before the even is over.. What’s the deal?

  16. Final Showdown Is Here!!!!!!!!

  17. Whelp, looks like the Showdown is here! Bart just gave a speech, and now I have to tap the Sunken Temple 10 times.

  18. The Reneducation Center is very large and would be just as impressive as a more narrow building. I will need to redo my Springfield but since I’m moving my high end residents to Springfield Heights (putting all SH bldgs. in storage), I’ll have room in regular Springfield.

For my 40 days, I scored a wack-load of walls and 80 freakin’ bonuts. I’m happy happy happy! I used the nuke walls to surround my prison and my nuclear reactor.

I can now afford land and have bought two more rows.

Oh, almost forgot! I bought the ($6.99?) deal/steal and got Frink’s Lab, Otto and Jasper.

But hey, like everyone says, it was a little boring. (Sarcasm) 🙂

  19. cant get the last 20 donuts as the mnthstr sits on the grove and doesn’t go near his tower. Can’t complete the grove quests also as it isn’t logging things being tapped. Very long event for little new actual content. And with the number of characters most people have would it be impossible to have Willie and others be assigned to bash nightmares? Superhero guy looks wimpy flying past skeletons.

  20. It seems so anti-climatic…no real resolution fighting Monster. I wish the game incorporated video clips. That would feel like a nice little prize to view for completing an event storyline. The center will be going into storage for me. This last prize seemed so leftfield after all the nightmare squishing. Oh well, on to the next thing.

  21. I wasn’t sure why no one liked this building. (Might be due to mostly skimming so as not to get spoiled. I think it is a nice looking building.) But I agree, it’s huge. That’s okay, though, it will just get it’s own land.

Would, of course, love to have more permanent interactions with the buildings.

    • D’oh! I greedily enclosed those parentheses…. *sigh* Meh, y’all’ll figure that out. (Hey, if you can figure out “y’all’ll” you can figure anything out. 😉)

  22. Good riddance to this event. It was way too long? Halloween ended 17 days ago for crying out loud. I ended up with a bazillion spooky hedges, cabins, tents etc., etc. ,etc. I got tired of crafting more and more duplicate stuff (how many spooky houses does one need?) and will leave tons of crafting currency on the table. I only kept playing to get the Reneducation Center, which is less than impressive. Add all the bugs there were to navigate and I’m one Negative Nelly. EA really phoned it in on this one. I really hope xmas is much better.

  23. Yeah this building is just way too big and bulky. It is tricky to find a good location for it that doesn’t just block everything around it. I was hoping for a thin tall building, not a large bloated one. Still haven’t worked out exactly where to put this thing.

  24. The whole event was a snoozer. Really no good prizes for all the work put in.

  25. Bring on the Black Friday deals!!! I’ve got some bonuts to spend.

  26. hmmm…any thoughts on if there is going to be a currency exchange of any type, or last minute dump? Or should I just be buying a bazillion walls?

  27. So now that the event is almost over. What should I spend all these crafting currency on?

    • There have been a gazillion comments about this in the past couple of weeks’ worth of posts, so you might want to go check them out! (Tip: If you don’t want to read through all of the comments in a page, use your browser’s search function to, say, look for the word “craft.”)

    • Spend all your eggs on Spooky Walls, all your brains on Wailing Walls, and the rest on whatever you like.

  28. It’s so big! And so ugly! It’s going into inventory after the event ends.
