Addicts Open Thread

Sorry this post is up late today guys…had a bit of a crazy morning around here.  But better late than never right? 🙂

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread!  So, let’s get the conversation going!  Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long.  This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!

Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING.  Just no Add me requests…those should go here.  We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

So…here is your Open Thread.  An all new episode of The Simpsons airs tonight, what do you think will happen in the new episode?  Halloween ended this past week and Thanksgiving started.  What are your thoughts on both
events?  Working hard at collecting those drumsticks?
Thanksgiving is this week here in the US.  How will you be celebrating?  If you already had your Thanksgiving how did you celebrate?
Sunday Night Football tonight features the Bengals at the Cardinals.  Something you’ll be checking out?  Did your team play earlier today?  How’d they do?
How was your weekend?  Do anything fun and exciting?  Get any Christmas shopping done?

So chat about the Simpsons, TSTO, Update fun, or anything else you can think of!  Can’t wait to chat with you all, you know we love hearing from you!

Have Fun!  And happy Sunday!

THE SIMPSONS: Homer promises to send Lisa to band camp in the all-new ÒLisa with an ÔSÕÓ episode of THE SIMPSONS airing Sunday, Nov. 22 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX.. THE SIMPSONS ª and © 2015 TCFFC ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.

  1. Hi. I have seen some tsto designs where objects are in/on the water.
Is there anyone who knows how to do this ?? I would Like to design my squidport , so it looks Like there are Stairs . Hope you Can help
    Good Day to all 😊

  2. I wish there was a throw back Thursday store items so we can get a chance to buy previous premium stuff ! They make money , we get cool stuff , everyone wins !!

  3. Was anyone else disappointed with the 2015 Black Friday Donut Specials? I was and I wanted to get others comments. There were no items that were very special or enticing to me at all.

    • Donut specials?!? If you mean the Gil’s Deal on premium stuff, no – I’m pretty thrilled with it. Sure, there are a few items I would have liked to have seen offered (and a bunch I had no interest in), but, since I’m a mostly freemium player with limited donuts, it’s probably just as well!

  4. Last 🙂

  5. I can no longer send anyone to the Bad Dream House and make it light up. Is that supposed to happen? 🙁

  6. Hey thanks Sandrashill, pzed, and tapebelt for the bonuts when I tapped your towns today!

  7. First time on here, what is the highest level of TSTO? Just wondering. Thanks!

    • Welcome to our happy little group! Don’t worry if you are not @ 59 yet. The leveling up happens faster than you might think. Also adding lots of friends can help if you haven’t already.

    • Welcome Tammy,

at the minute it’s 59 but just when you’re about to level up to 59……they will bring out an update with level 60 and you’ll be one level away for ages …felt like I was at 57 & 58 for ages

      🙂

  8. For the first time ever, I saw three handshakes on the same building. Has this ever been figured out? It looked pretty cool.

Also, my thumbs went away. I closed the game, restarted my ipad and restarted the game – all fixed.

  9. Anyone seeing a bug since the last update. I cannot see when any of my tasks are complete. I tap them and they cash out but I can’t tell what are complete and what are not complete.

  10. I think EA have decided I have too much in game cash so to make it harder for me to collect, none of my ‘Thumbs Up’, ‘Dollar Signs’ etc are showing when tasks are completed or rent is ready for collection…

I blame Gil and Black Friday as it is only been happening since that update 😁

  11. 🏈 🍗 🍩 🎈 Happy Thanksgiving everyone 🎈 🍩 🍗 🏈

    🙂

  12. Sorry if this is old news, and MAY just be a rumor, (I don’t have facebook to check) but according to “another site” TSTO 2015 Black Friday sales is confirmed (although don’t know what the sale is exactly) starting Friday, and they claim “log on tomorrow for 15 free donuts”. Take this with a grain of salt until one of the Mods can maybe confirm this *cough* 😀

    • Thanks. I think the free donuts is for the holiday and is unrelated to Black Friday.

    • First off, I can’t believe there’s “another site”….. and if there is, you should be ashamed to look at it with a name like yours, …..and if you did look, you shouldn’t admit it….you may get excommunicated (that’s when you want auto-correcktt) …. 🙂

I think we’re all expecting a sale but nobody will know the details till it hits 🙂

      • In my defense, never actually said I was on the other site, just that another site made the claim. I heard it from a friend, who heard it from a friend, who is a cousin of the pet of the owner of the other site who told me, yeah thats it 😀

  13. Hey Everybody! Speaking of day off, I hope all three of you are taking tomorrow off to spend with your families, sure we can force ourselves to live without you😊 So will wish one & all a happy Thanksgiving now! Be safe & have a wonderful day!
I was appalled when my husband & I ran to Walmart earlier today to grab some last minute stuff, when checking out I wished our cashier a Happy Thanksgiving & she said yay right I will b here, I said I hate that you reopen now at midnight! She explained she has to work as they are open All day, not closing at all, & the people that weren’t “chosen” to work get paid for holiday too, so she works some get to stay home & they all get paid! I have never shopped on Thanksgiving, not even Black Friday (don’t like Friday crowds). Thanksgiving has always been my favorite because it WAS about being thankful, spending time with family & friends, good food, & relaxing. Now it has turned into let’s go get the best deals on stuff we probably don’t really NEED! So disappointing. I hope everyone stays away from shopping tomorrow, please spend time with your loved ones (or in laws LOL), maybe if people quit shopping stores will rethink this greed. Truly sorry for the people being forced to work tomorrow.
Also, a question to all out there, when my neighbors visit (thank you) about 90% I’m not getting handshakes, dollar signs stay, when I tap my neighbor’s name shows up, but I don’t know what gas been tapped. Is this happening to anyone else?
Last but not least Queen Alissa, please give Riley a first Thanksgiving hug from me! Enjoy her first holiday.

    • Thank you my friend. I think she’ll be mostly partaking in the nap portion of the Thanksgiving traditions…at least this year lol

    • Everything seems normal on my end, except that I got 3 donuts 3 days ago, 1 the next day, and I gave up half way through yesterday because I was getting none. Takes any remaining joy away.

I will be working tomorrow, like everyone else here as we do not celebrate Thanksgiving at all. There used to be harvest celebrations until the Soviet occupation when anything with religious overtones was discouraged, to say the least. The Soviet holidays did not have roots and so disappeared. So Sept., Oct., and early Nov. are dominated by remembering the dead. And then we have a lull until Christmas. Like Canada, we would need to celebrate the harvest in October but that month is dominated by All Souls’ Day on 1 Nov. when everyone goes back home to take care of the family graves. Because 1 Nov. is often nasty weather here, many people go back home early while the weather is good. So not much chance of a holiday reappearing.

      • That’s sad. 🙁 But how has Christmas endured? Isn’t that considered as having “religious overtones”?

        • Ah, Christmas was converted to Father Cold and Snowflake (female) and the holiday focused on New Year’s. Lithuanians were not prevented from eating their Christmas Eve meal, which is the big event for them. Twelve dishes – fish, mushrooms, and veggies, but no meat plus thaler which are a lay communion disc that is broken between two people. Presents were more likely homemade during the Soviet period, like reciting a poem or making a picture rather than buying something (shortage of consumer goods). Picture cards were exchanged. In other words, fairly close to the what is celebrated in the West as opposed to the emphasis on the Church during the interwar period. Since there was plenty of vodka, the event was popular for everyone. As I understand it, after 1991 many holidays for many people in Belarus devolved down to five day drinking events. Independence has maintained a secular Christmas in Lithuania, but without an emphasis on drinking. You can still find Father Cold and Snowflake type cards and Snowflake is often the one to accompany Santa Claus even now. No Boogie Man like in the Netherlands. The children have to perform something or recite a poem to receive their present from Santa Claus, who visits the schools each year. Our ovens are small, so roast turkey has not caught on here, but families do come together for Christmas and people often take the days between Christmas and New Year’s off. We celebrate two days of Christmas here, like in the UK, but the second is not strictly for friends. For example, her family may be visited on the first day, his on the second. Christmas is commercial here now, but the Christmas merchandise is mainly junk, so it is more for kids. The adults put more attention on a masquerade ball, if they are invited to one. But as to energy, it seems Midsummer’s Eve attracts more of that because the weather is so much better. Christmas is more home oriented, Midsummer’s Eve more outdoors, active, and with friends. Hope that gives you some idea of what the season is like here.

  14. Hello! Ok, I’ve looked on the site and couldn’t find anything on this subject. I have this thing pop up saying I have 1/3 of the thanksgiving easter egg?? What is this?

  15. Alissa,
No idea how crazy your life is at the moment, so maybe not the time to ask, but do you think you will have a chance to post that article on donut values I submitted before THOH any time soon while things are bit calmer?

  16. Well hello to everyone and long time no see! I’m trying to get motivated to clean my house and start prepping for dinner tomorrow. What’s holding me back? Lack of coffee (can anyone zip me some? Black, one sugar) and also the extreme sadness and anger I feel because my husband’s restaurant (Italian chain) is going to be open for Thanksgiving this year and has to work. And just found out yesterday. So 💩💩💩 but not the smiling kind. The store I work at is also open but luckily I was not “chosen” as they like to put it. How sad that the only real American holiday, a day where it’s not about your religious beliefs but about being together and being thankful for what you have, is being ruined by commerce and greed. Oh but maybe that is the American way. Sigh. If you or someone you love is being forced to work, my heart hurts for you. If you are emergency personnel and have to work, thank you for everything you do. If neither of these apply to you I BEG YOU, please stay home. You have a choice to give up your family time to go shopping, we don’t have that luxury. The sales will not be better and I’m pretty sure no one *needs* that stuff so desperately anyway. Boycott Black Thursday. Stay home and have too much wine and turkey and enjoy your day off.

Sorry to be such a bummer but I just had to get that out. It wasn’t even what I came here to say!

I really wanted to ask about Big T theater (how did I get so carried away?) Did I miss something? Was there a quest or dialog to build it? Come to think of it, did I build it already? Hmmm lol, I should check. I was out of the game for a little towards the end of Halloween and feeling a bit lost. Neighbors, you are all so wonderful and I’m thankful to have you and I’m trying to get back on my regular visiting schedule. If I don’t get there every day I’m sorry, that’s not like me. I’ll do better. Sandra, I got a donut from visiting you yesterday woo hoo! And JJ, I read your earlier post about the awesomely productive day you had and it’s giving me some motivation to get off this couch. I hope your team does well! Hi Alissa and tiny addict, I hope someone else is cooking for you tomorrow so you can relax.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the us, I’ll be cooking all day tomorrow (and wine-ing 🍷) so I won’t get time to come by here.

    • I wholeheartedly agree with you. Hubby and I were just saying how we don’t understand why people actually go to the stores open on Thanksgiving. Makes no sense. Like you said it’s not a religious thing…spend time with those you love and be grateful. Don’t go shopping…not worth it. Even if you don’t like turkey…spend the day off. Relax. Let others relax.

No quest with the Big T. Just kinda there. A big odd lol

And yup…we’ll actually be close by you at the in-laws (oh joy! 😉 ). So hey if you need someone to entertain you let me know…Riley will be happy to let you brainwash her with Phillies stuff 😉

    • Love the rant. Don’t fully agree, though. Shopping can be cool. But, let’s wait until midnight, at least. Leave Thanksgiving for family time. Thanks for pointing out how (North) American this holiday is. Can’t forget aboot Canadian Thanksgiving. (I hope that isn’t considered offensive. I hear that a lot of our most beloved comedians are actually Canadian. Maybe y’all have a sense of humor?)

    • Sorry you didn’t get a coffee with that donut!

      • Looks like your town is a hotspot of d🍩nut giving Sandra,
Must stop reading this and go visit, Happy Thanksgiving to you ! ……

Now I have to scroll to the bottom and post a “general” happy thanksgiving for the masses or they’ll feel left out …don’t want to be accused of favouritism….

        🏈 🍗 🎈 😀 🍩 🙂

  17. Don’t know if this was mentioned but if you tap the sunken tower Munsther reappears on top of it

  18. So getting ready for Christmas!!!

And by that I don’t mean buying presents, decorating trees, putting up lights etc… I mean way more important then that!

I mean doing Neighbour housekeeping 😄😄😄 Working on having a full roster of active neighbours ready and willing for the coming event. Y’all better be ready to earn me some currency cos Mama needs a new decoration/building/Maggie/character!!! 😊😊😊

    Bring on the goodies already!
    😄😄😄

  19. so I just bought a $100 iTunes gift card (on sale) and I am trying to decide if i should redeem it for doughnuts now to use for black friday or wait and see if we get a holiday doughnuts deal again

  20. Trying to remember, the Recycle Bin (blue curb side rolling garbage bin) is no longer available, correct? My redesign could use one more. 😊
Anxiously awaiting 🦃 day – hoping we’ll receive something that we will be thankful for.

    • Pretty sure the blue bins are still available, (and the Green ones for donuts) some things take some searching to find in the shop 🙂

      • The Green DUMPSTER is available for donuts.
The Blue DUMPSTER is available for dollars.
But I can’t find the Blue Recycle Bin – the one that looks like what I, and all my neighbors, put on the curb every week.
I’ve gone through the store three times sea searching for it. Maybe it was only available during the initial Rail Yard Event?

        • yeah, the blue recycling bins were only available for purchase during the monorail event. i stocked up on 150 or so, you know just in case… 😉

          • Just in case you need to do a lot of recycling, ….I got a load but nowhere near that amount 🙂

            😮 😣 😤 😧 😨 😩 ♻ sorry Tracy, you’re out of luck then ♻ 😖 😔 😥 😦 😰

            🙂

        • I wondered if you meant those. I have so many of them, wish I could trade you some. Yep, limited availability during the monorail event. Cost simple money at the time.

  21. Well after the marathon THOH event and the welcomed Thanks Giving mini event I’ve had a bit of time to get land (for how much longer?!), work on Heights, Squidport and Krustyland too. I’ll do the housework tomorrow ….

  22. Hi

I haven’t played tsto for a long time i stopped in the middle of the monorail and my question is how can i make rails i didn’t finish the event.

  23. Oh my goodness I nuked ~again~ in the hope of getting ready in time for Christmas. Half my stuff was still in storage anyway, I’d basically pulled out anything that gave me more income.
My heart goes out to my fellow addicts in a similar predicament.
Halloween was awesome, though I would have liked a couple more little freebies; can’t get enough of those (speaking of, I’m grateful for an extra .5% in the form of a second cornucopia).
Can’t wait for Christmas. When do people think it’ll drop?

  24. Waithing for the snow…. Let is snow let it snow…..

    • If you mean IRL, then only if you’re willing to be the one to come and shovel it. If you mean in the game, then okay! 😉

      • personally awaiting the former… no shoveling in the city, but my kids are looking forward to seeing some snow in the mountains to the east.

as for the game, i loathe to give up the ultra smooth gameplay i’ve been experiencing since updating out of the halloween event. if they can give us some flurries or a dusting of snow that doesn’t adversely affect performance, i’d be all for it. otherwise, i’d honestly just like to experience these leaves falling some more….

      • In THE game!!!!!!!
