Pros:
-Earns a ton of Real Estate Points when purchased
-One of the rare items from Springfield Heights to earn money/xp
-Has short 1 part questline
-Unlocks a 4hr job for Marge (earns $260,70xp)

Cons:
-Expensive for not coming with a character
-Building pays out every 2hrs, which can be a hard time to maximize earnings
-Large building, can be hard to fit in Springfield (or SH)

Final Thought:
Premium:
I really like that EA has stepped it up a bit with the SH premium items.  Unlock the previous releases this one has a short questline AND a character task. Two good selling features.  However, I still think this one is overpriced.  150 donuts is really pricey for just a building (even if a character will have a task there).  So if you’re a premium player this is one I would tell you to think about for a bit before purchasing.  Do the pros out weigh the biggest con (the price) for you? And honestly you may want to hold off for now until after you see what Christmas brings….

Freemium:
Stay away from it.  Stay far, far away.  I know it’s tempting because it’s shiny and it’s new, but when those donuts are hard to come by…this just isn’t the kind of item you want to drop them on.  Complete freemium pass in my mind…just way to expensive.

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do…and I can tell you I probably won’t be getting this one.  Just take your time with your thought process, there’s no rush to get it.  You may want to hold off for now and see what the next event brings…

Here’s a look at the questline that comes with it..

When purchased and placed…

Homer: What the heck is that?
Lisa: It’s the Opera House!  You were featured in several performances there!
Homer: If I remembered every amazing thing I did, I’d have no room to remember the important stuff like your beautiful name, Lisorb.
Lisa: It’s Lisa, Dad.
Homer: Tell that to your brother, Bort. Well, it’s all come back, Lisorb.  I hate it here.  Everyone would look at me after saying it’s not over until the fat lady sings. Just because I was in a hospital gown..and wig. And I was blocking the fire exit demanding to sing.

The Phantom Opera
Marge starts

Marge: Homie, I’m using the coupon for “A Date to Anywhere” you gave me for Valentine’s.  We’re going to the Opera!
Homer: Oh.  The whole point of giving out lame coupons is you’re not supposed to use them.
Marge: You used that coupon I gave you last Valentine’s.
Homer: That’s because it was for something dirty.  But the “Free Hug” is somewhere in the trash.
Marge: Get your coat.  We’re going!
Make Marge Take Homer to the Opera- 4hrs, Earns $520, 140xp
Marge: I can’t believe we waited 4 hours to get in, and the star didn’t even show up.
Homer: Wait, I just remembered I was scheduled to perform tonight.
Marge: *annoyed murmur*
Homer: I gues I could pull some strings and get you some free opera tickets for another show.

At this point you’ll unlock the task for Marge to watch the Opera…Alone.

  1. Can we have a Springfield Showoff post sometime soon there hasn’t been one since Terwilligers 🙂

  2. I got it. Great episode and love the look. Nice animation during the task, wish it stayed with homer in the tux. Not sure why they didn’t leave that.

It’s easier for the more canon stuff to buy. I really need to buy powell’s motors next.

  3. I just bought the Clamphitheater on sale, and it’s actually on my Heights beach, so this would just be redundant. And expensive.

  4. As a freemium Australian, I’ll be saving for it.

  5. Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi
    Had to have it 🙂

  6. Game & EA donut loading screen appear then everything goes black. Game will not load, despite clear cache, force stop, uninstall etc. Back to the usual omnishambles with updates are we EA?

    • first, are you playing on wifi or a data connection? sometimes when i load the game when i’m using a data connection (lte) on my android phone, there’s a black screen after the fox and ea initial splash, and it can take a while, sometimes up to a minute, before moving along to the login screen.

second, are you playing on an amazon device? i picked up one of those $35 fire tablets on black friday (which tapped out plays like a champ on!) and occasionally i’ll get the same black screen when trying to load up the game. this one doesn’t appear to resolve itself though, as i left it on the black screen for over 5 minutes with no change. i was, however, able to find a workaround by swiping down the notification window and tapping the wifi button, which takes you to the wifi settings on your device. turn off the wifi, then go back to the game, and it will quickly show the login screen before giving you the connection error window, giving you the option to retry or go to settings. hit settings, turn the wifi back on, then open your recents and clear tapped out. relaunch tapped out and it should go through this time.

if neither of the above apply, or work for you, try loading your game on a different (and hopefully more powerful) device than you usually play on. if it works fine on there, and afterwards you are still not able to get past the black screen on yours, it may be an issue with your particular device. or you may have to contact ea….

      • I knew I should have bought one of those, even though I really didn’t need it. But I thought TSTO didn’t pay on the newest Kindles, and that was one reason I don’t get it. Oh well…when I decided not to get it, I rationalized it by the fact that it was really only $15 off, which, if I decided I really need it down the road, isn’t really a deal-breaker.

        • i rationalized it the other way, that if it was a piece of crap it’d just be 35 bucks out of pocket, and i could give it to the kids to mess with. it’s far from a turd though, and my decision to impulsively purchase a second paid off, as i will definitely be keeping one for myself (other will go to my oldest as an xmas gift).

  7. Looks really cool but for the same price I could get Belle or Molloy (both on my wish list) and their respective buildings so it’s a pass for now. Maybe sometime down the road.

  8. Does anyone else’s game display seem different? Its not my phone…

  9. This is on my long-term buy list, I really like it (a lot more than any of the previous SH premiums) but at that price it’s not an insta-buy.

  10. Does look good though, …….bet our Australian friends can’t resist 🐨 🙂

    • Tapebelt that is one of my favorite movies! “I had an awful dream. I was poor and nobody liked me.” Did you ever see Coming to America where Eddie Murphy’s character gives the two homeless men on the bench a boatload of cash and it turns out to be a cameo of Ralph Bellamy and Don Amache playing Mortimer and Randolph Duke? Thanks for the neighborino bonut today!

      • yesssss trading places is so classic! it’s one of my favorite movies, and quite possibly my favorite comedy of all time. also must be included on any short list of best christmas flicks of all time!

loved the dukes cameo in coming to america! another movie i’m very familiar with, having seen it many many times growing up. and by it, i mean that bath scene at the beginning… 😉

  11. Hmm I’m on part 13 of the quest and it hasn’t been offered. Of course I’ll cough up the sprinkles but where is it?

  12. I think the SH premium items are supposed to be for rich people. That’s why they’re all overpriced. Maybe if we all start thinking like rich people we’ll find they’re actually a bargain. 😉

By the way… premium 4-hour task for Marge? Maybe I’d take it, if she weren’t so busy speeding up crops.

Personally I think one premium task for a freemium character is the very least we should get from ALL premium buildings. Preferably premium tasks for more than one character, plus a questline. Is that too much to ask?

  13. Bought it and love it. Especially the task from the mini questline. Too bad it’s a one-off.

  14. Anyone else have all the sh2 itemsand characters removed?
