Started act 2, finished upgrading the gingerbread house in act 1, added a bunch of new neighbors (75-ish in total) but now, when I visit neighbors I only get FP for tapping Merrymakers instead of mistletoe. That can’t be right, can it? That’s frustrating!

Last night, less than 4 hours into Act 2, one neighbor had 10000 (or more, I can’t quite remember) mistletoe. I had 1000… They had all four of the construction buildings done, and pretty much everything else. I guess it bothered me because they didn’t even try to play the game before using donuts like they were Tictacs. Kinda the opposite of my other neighbors who weren’t seeming to be trying. They all had to go.
BTW, some of those neighbors seemed to have made a valiant effort. We’re all zeroed out again at the beginning of this act and all but five of my neighbors are amassing mistletoe. So far so good.
I noticed a couple of neighbours with 30,000 when everyone else has about 2,000-4,000 …..assumed they must have hacked games …..hope it all goes wrong for the cheating thieves 🙂

I’m trying to do Unfair Trade (w/#1) – Requires Fewer Lattes. What is Fewer Lattes, and how do I get it?
In Find Attraction, it says “You currently don’t own this attraction” – for Fortress of Lonelitude, Moonshine Shack, Reindeer Burger Truck. How do I get those things?
In act 1, I didn’t even get to start the Gingerbread Mansion questline, is there a way to get that item now?

Odd, I did that cse.google.com link, and searched for unfair trade, and then on the page that came up, I searched in that for “unfair” and it wasn’t found. Bizarre.
If you have the coffee shop for SH is where you need to go for fewer lattes. I brought something in SH with some coffees then number 1 can do his thing 😊
Has anyone else got characters ‘stuck’ in the gingerbread house after the Christmas event has moved into Act 2? I had some characters completing jobs during the changeover and now they are still on task but the time has stopped. Will I ever get them back?! Haha.

I’ve received 36 bonuts!!!
– Almost 24 hours ago, got my first 3 bonuts for collecting 4000 Santa Hats after unlocking Patches and Poor Violet.
– Finished the weekly monorail grind this morning for another 5 bonuts and have nearly maxed everything up in preparation for next weeks monorail grind.
– Filled up my XP bar once more, courtesy two rat trap trucks, this afternoon for another 3 bonuts.
– Got 2 bonuts visiting neighbours today.
– No bonuts, but finally got my Squishee station to level 20 this evening.
– Finally completed maxing up my gingerbread house to level 5 a couple hours ago and in the process collected another 4000 Santa Hats for a second round of bonuts.
– Completed my fifth daily challenge this week for another 20 bonuts few minutes ago.
36 bonuts in one day is definitely a record for me.
Overall since the event has started, I’ve received over 70 bonuts, whilst not spending a single donut. I have been quite tempted to get Sophie Krustofsky for 110 donuts. I think today’s 36 has pushed me to a “go for it” mentality and I might just take the plunge. Though in a couple hours, better options might be available in Act 2, so maybe wait.
Finish Act 1 with 36900 Santa Hats. Have a couple hundred more Santa Hats ready to be tapped, but holding off for a few hours to try for any jump in Act 2. Only three premium neighbours finished with more Santa Hats than me with 38000+, 40000+, 41000+. Therefore for Act 2, I plan to continue using the double time Hat maximizing technique I applied in Act 1, and would recommend it to those who can commit to checking in nearly every 4 hours. Though Simp7 didn’t use the double time method and had nearly as many hats as me, also without using any donuts. So maybe results would have been the same regardless. But I’ll still stick to my method in Act 2.
You beat me. I only had one round of bonuts. I was less than 1000 away from my second round. (Should have saved the merrymakers for Act 2.)
Did the squishee level 20 upgrade reward any hats?
I did use double time, but sparingly. So, I can’t say it wasn’t a factor.

Ha ha! My husband seems to think he can avoid the internet for a week – good luck with that 😉 Yes we will be going to Tower Park then back home with a family bucket from KFC. Since the kids are a bit older it has become our Christmas tradition to go to cinema and KFC on Boxing day, of course the last few years has been The Hobbit so it will be nice to have a change of film 😃

Unfortunately yes I do remember Icetrax. Tower Park was built when I was almost teenager and it was the place to go. That is how old I am!!! 😨 I also remember when there was a ice rink in Bournemouth!

They can be hard to find. Check your frozen rivers, behind buildings, Springfield Heights. I accidentally tapped one yesterday that was dropped three days ago. I had written it off as an erroneous message.

Pretty sure I’m not going to be able to get any bonuts (apart from the weekly challenge, of course) during this event. I got Patches and Poor Violet earlier tonight, and I just don’t see how I can tap enough Merrymakers to get 4000 more hats, let alone any more than that. Thank goodness for the weekly challenge!
Hey – you’re doing better than I am… I still haven’t even gotten Patches and Violet yet! I’ve never been this dish to the wire in a final prize before and I really don’t like it. Not 100% sure where I went wrong… It’s not like I haven’t been playing frequently or anything!
Weren’t you saying that you weren’t doubling up on the building tasks?
I was early on, but then at some point I learned about the big bonuses for completing phases and I seemed to be behind where I should be on construction (at that point, I think I was still working on the snowman, when lots of folks were well into the gingerbread house), so I switched tactics and started focusing on getting through the construction tasks (but sending as many folks to do them as I could, which was sometimes well in excess of the minimum).
At the rate I’m going, if I play until later than I usually do tonight, I should be able to be finished with the gingerbread house by the time I wake up tomorrow. I just hope that that also means that, by tomorrow, I’ll have all the Santa hats I need to get P&V. I’ve never been this close to the wire and I don’t like this feeling at all, especially given how frequently I’ve been playing since this event started. Bummed I won’t get to any bonut rounds (although the 20 a week for the daily tasks takes a bit of the sting out of that), but even more unhappy that I should have to worry at all about getting to the end in time!
Not really sure what I did wrong, other than not taking the building tasks seriously enough at the beginning and using resources to work at the rail yard that should have been put to building the snowman. (Oh, and not taking the Hot Squishee stand upgrading seriously enough soon enough either…I got a few levels in and decided I didn’t care about increasing my tap radius, so, again, I was using my kids for other things, until I saw people (and the belated post) pointing out the extra Santa hats for the upgrades. My bad for not realizing that myself, but I was so used to always being at least a couple of days ahead of the calendar just by playing most events “normally,” that I wasn’t really looking for ways to make sure I was maximizing my Santa hats. Guess I was a bit too complacent? But, still, with the amount of tapping that I do (clearing so, so many Merrymakers), I’m surprised that this is turning out to be such a close race. I did check the calendar early on and, once I saw that I was about half a day ahead (at one point), I assumed that I was heading on my normal trajectory of slowly continuing to get ahead of the calendar. (Still not sure why that didn’t happen, since the building tasks gave increasingly higher payouts, right?)

Not boring. Sad that it’s so worrying. Xmas should be a stress-free time….it never is, but it should be. 😒
I’m actually worried about keeping up next act. I might have to focus on celebrations and stuff. How will I keep up with tapping??!! lol
How many merrymakers are people getting in their town? I’m lucky to get 5 in an hour!!!
I believe you should be getting one every five minutes. But they do hide behind buildings and such sometimes, so try turning off the visibility for your buildings (and monorail) when you go hunting for them.
One of the good things when you’re at the part after Patches and Violet is that you can just tap on the Santa hat in your task bar and then tap the Do It button, and it will take you to a Merrymaker (or inform you if there are no more available right now). (But, sometimes, when it takes you to one, you can’t see it because it’s behind a building.) It makes finding and taking them so much easier!
If you’re really only getting one an hour, then there’s something wrong with your game and you should probably contact EA (preferably by phone today, if you can, before the weekend starts and that’s no longer an option).

I’m in the same boat. I’m an obsessive player. It’s annoying how much I check in (at least to my husband 😉). I went from being ahead of the calender in the beginning to worrying that I may not unlock the last prize in time. Not sure what went wrong. I’ve decided to stop doubling up on the upgrades and finish my gingerbread house by tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully that’ll give me the push I need. I played till 3am last night and was back up at 8…but it shouldn’t take that much game play. Something is off, idk if it’s that I’m only getting 50 total hats from neighbor visits or what it is but hopefully it’s straightened out by the second act.
The 2,000+ hats I got when I awakened this morning and tapped the gingerbread house to compete it got me Patches and Violet (as I had expected/hoped).
Don’t think there’s even a prayer of getting to 4,000 more hats in one day to get any bonuts, especially since I’ve completed the gingerbread house already. Has anyone else Manfred to get that many hats in one day without any “construction” going on?
I haven’t “Manfred” 4,000 in over a day so no bonuts this round for me. Also, I realize the Manfred was an autocorrect/swype? issue, but it really did give me a chuckle. 😊

I’m with you on that! I have an anonymous game which is on level 59 but since I only have 1 friend on fb I can’t get the hats quick enough and am struggling to get violet and patches :(. My daughter has just started an account where we have plenty of hats etc but not enough people to do the tasks it’s so frustrating!!!!
I wish I had that problem I’m going to be 900 short of the orphans. I’ve finished both buildings. Really annoyed I came up short. Seemed a little tight to get it this time.
I was just looking at the naughty and nice results for my town, and it says Anonymous was naughty.Obviously there is no one on my friends list with that name so how did someone hide their name? If anyone has any clues I would appreciate it!

I have that too but mine is a neighbor I removed. If you recently deleted a neighbor for being excessively naughty, or if someone removed you for whatever reason, they’ll show up as anonymous now instead of their username.
Thanks for commenting, otherwise I wouldn’t know as I haven’t deleted anyone who’s left a gift. Sorta related, Other Springfield doesn’t show up on the list at all, only in the pop up summary, where no one is named as it is.

An anonymous is someone whom you have dropped in this event. At least this is what is happening at my end.
Not sure this is already covered somewhere, and everything I can find seems to be older and not up to date.
I was interested in everyone’s thoughts one what are the best or must have premium items/buildings/characters etc. What are the must have things? What are the best deals?
Any and all information would be not only helpful to me, but I am sure others.

It’s really all about what you want for your town. Personally, there are so many buildings in my Springfield but not a lot of residences. I prefer to save my donuts for homes because there aren’t many. However, my 2 favorite character purchases were Squeaky Voiced Teen because he has lots of different tasks and because he’s used in all the big events and earns premium…and Sherri/Terri because I liked their questline and they are also used in all the big events and earn premium. You’ll feel better about your purchase if you have reasons to still use them after the quest. Oh and squeaky teen can be used in SH. He’s very useful.
Ah, but I think SVT can still be earned via the Mystery Box (during a non-event time), right? So it might not make sense to spend precious sprinklies on him (even though ITA that he’s very useful to have around).

I have a theory that the number of gifts you see at the landing site in your neighbor’s town, is the number of gifts they already have in their town (even though, in their town from their perspective, those gifts may be dispersed around the town).
Further, if the above is true, it would confirm that a town becomes “full” at 4 unopened gifts, not 5.
Does anyone have the spare resources (like having more than one town) to test this theory (and its correllary)?
Sorry, that wasn’t how it worked for me. I placed them exactly where I wanted, then on the other account, that’s where I see it. Even saw an actual neighbor’s gift and then in other account it’s in that exact same spot.

Safi (or others), have you won the final prize yet? Were you still going half-speed/double-payout with the Gingerbread build? I went about 3/4-speed. I won it, 2 days ahead of the calendar. Not bad. So, let me know how you did. Should I have kept back like you did?
I’m looking forward to adding nearly 2000 hats (from finishing the build) and another 200 (from upgrading the Squishee Stand) to my bonus quest.
Strangely, I got 2 daily play rewards today. The final one followed by the first one. I believe that happened 4 days ago, too. Anyone else experiencing this?
Oh, yeah, I can check hat totals in my neighborhood. Safi has not reached the final prize yet. Maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow, looks to me.

I have continued with the doubling method. I’m still just over 1000 Santa Hats shy of Patches and Poor Violet (1083 hats to go). I’m currently at 27767 Santa Hats, 1614 Baubles, and 3321 Bows. I anticipate unlocking them tonight I hope, though might be tomorrow morning if I fall asleep before the task ends.
My Snowman was maxed out already. My Hot Squishee Station is level 18. And my Gingerbread House is Level 3, I’m currently working on my second go at task # 2 of Level 3, 6 hour kooks. Sent 3 of the required 4 kooks while I was at work and have now sent 7 kooks this second go.
I should unlock Patches and Violet before getting the bonus for completing Level 3, and should have all further quest and level completion bonuses count towards the bonuts requirements. Really hoping to get 2 rounds of bonuts.
Again, I did not buy any premium buildings or the Burns skin. But I have probably 2/3 of the premium characters that can go on tasks, and more importantly play even more frequently than I post here (so you can imagine how frequently I play).

(I have no sense of time at this point, so it may be way too soon to be asking…) If it hasn’t, don’t get excited…it’s nothing much…just a little token to let y’all know that I’m thinking of you this holiday season. (Would have loved to have sent something…err…lucrative, like gift cards or something, but my one income supports two households, so there’s really nothing to spare this year. Not even exchanging gifts with my family (except for my new baby nephew, for whom I’m crocheting stuff with yarn that I got for free).
