Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Well here we are, in the most wonderful time of the year…Christmas in Springfield! The leaves on the trees have fallen, snow blankets the ground and there’s joy all around town!
This Event is broken up into 3 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story. To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act. Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event. For the First Act you’re tasked with collecting Santa Hats (
) to unlock each prize!
The second Act 1 prize awarded at 5,800 is the Springfield Orphanage, just in time for the holidays.
So let’s take a closer look at this second prize and just what happens when you unlock it in your Springfield…
Once you’ve collected 5,800 you’ll automatically be awarded the Orphanage and you’ll see this message popup:
You’ll have the ability to place the Orphanage in your Springfield immediately or place it in inventory for later (store). If you store it, remember you’ll have to go into your inventory to retrieve it..
If you decide to place it, it does have a 4hr build time. And there is a task associated with it for Ralph as part of the prize questline. But that is just a one time task.
Some of you have been asking what happens if you don’t have Ralph unlocked yet..the answer is nothing. The questline isn’t required to move on with the event, so it’ll just hang out in your task book until you unlock Ralph and can complete it. Again, it WILL NOT hinder your progress with the event.
And that’s really it to the Orphanage…no additional questline once placed and nothing to earn you more . Just unlock the prize and that’s basically it…

Any idea if Patch and Poor Violet will be available for donuts during act 2? I’m 800 hats short and only an hour left on the timer. Hope I can purchase them tomorrow because I don’t want to buy them until I absolutely have to buy.

It’s a Freemium Building (take what Freemium you can from EA this year cause you’re not getting much else (lol) … I thought the dialog between Ralphie Wiggum & Chief Wiggum was funny (maybe EA will offer a permanent Task with certain Characters later?) ….

Is it just me or is it really not easy to get the last price…. (Every time)
The last prize in every event, every act, etc is always the most challenging. I feel it is designed that way intentionally to truly reward the dedicated addict with a great prize, whilst keeping the casual player striving to become a more dedicated player.
If they made it so easy that even playing every other day would suffice to unlock all the prize, many of us hardcore addicts wouldn’t feel the pride we do in unlocking that last item.
Just keep trying your best and from personal experience I can tell you, that unlike another tapping game, you don’t need to buy the premium buildings or premium skins in every event to unlock all the prizes. Any dedicated freemium player can unlock all the prizes.
I know, I like having the occasional item the less dedicated players don’t have. A friend of mine is freemium and always complains he can’t play all day. I’m like Yr a smoker in the time you can smoke you can upgrade Yr snowman. If you want it that bad you can get it.
It’s a nice building. Haven’t figured out where to put it yet. I hope Patches and Violet live there when their questline ends..
P.S. Krusty’s daughter Sophie Krustofsky was just added to my game for 110 donuts. I bought her and she has tasks that earn hats, but only one hat per hour. She can’t be used at the Hot Squishee Station either. She’s cute though!
How would I go about getting 7000 festive hats before the end? Is this possible? My gingerbread house is almost max level, so I won’t be getting much from that
I got 7k+ over 2 days just clicking the people regularly and you should get 1k+ from the gingerbread house, plus the daily bonuses and and friend visits you should get there. I got them yesterday and already have over 2k+ extra since then.
I need 7000 hats before Friday, any way I can do that?
It’ll be rough. You really have to grind tapping Merrymakers and in neighbor’s towns. Plus make sure you finish the questline…
Ok, I will try that, the issue is I only have around 20 friends. I can’t understand why I am so behind, since I have played daily from the start, if there anything I might have missed?

I stop getting hats from visiting friends after only 17 Springfields, so your 20 should get you all the game allows. Good luck! You can make it! 🙂

So happy to have them, they are lovely but you kinda feel sad for them (oh yeah you know you’re addicted when you feel sorry for pixels…)
They can/do. Problem is they’re after this…so when you unlock it no one can use it.
Maybe they’ll adapt task lines again later on, who knows.

This may sound crazy but the dialogue of Patches and Violet made my eyes wet.
So I went to craft the ski chalet this morning, having just earned enough baubles yesterday, and I somehow crafted the clam sign instead. I won’t tell you how many swears came out of my mouth.
Yr not missing too much. I crafted it earlier and now I’ll be danged if u can find a spot for it. It’s too tall and it blocks too much. The only design I haven’t liked in this event. If it were smaller I’d have the perfect spot either next to my ski lift or mountain lodge
I need 3000 more santa hats to get the last prize, but I already finished the gingerbread house. What should I do? It’s very hard to earn currency in other way

I liked Ralph’s little interaction with it….I could just hear the exasperation in his dad’s voice at the end, lol!
Check out the character completion icon thing when you go to buy/move items. Ally of them are now not complete. Looks like we are going to get a bunch of characters for this event.

Amen to that! (Although I wouldn’t mind a nice Indian restaurant, perhaps…) But definitely no more coffee shops or bars!
I recall few years ago, the family went to an Indian restaurant when they were all into writing food blogs. Can’t remember the name of the restaurant, I’ll have to look it up. Any other Indian restaurants in Springfield?
Did anyone tap on the Act 3 tab yesterday? It said something special is coming January 2nd, now it just tells you to wait. The trophy looks a lot like Maggie…

I’m not even close (somewhere in the 600,000,000s), but I’m okay with that…taking Springfield Heights nice at whatever pace is convenient/fun at any given moment. So, I guess for the time being, I’ll have to just be your “plus one” to any billionaire-only events (if you’re looking for a wing-woman…I definitely would NOT qualify as any kind of “arm candy”!).
Nothing too exciting but I love the way the design blends in
