Where Did THAT Come From – Leftorium Express

Just hear those sleigh bells ring-a-ling, jing jing jing-a-ling too… Yes Addicts it’s lovely weather for an origin together with you!

In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where Did THAT Come From?

Woo hoo! It’s holiday time in TSTO and with the first Act of goodness comes all sorts of different items.  I took my first look at everything and smiled big. Snowmen, merrymakers, holiday facades… so cool.  I could probably gush and gush about everything but that’s not what I’m supposed to be doing… it’s time again for me to dip into my noggin of Simpsons info and write about specific stuff.  For this post I will be going over the first prize that came with Act I of the 2015 TSTO Holiday Event… the Leftorium Express.  But what does this decoration earned for 2200 Santa Hats have to do with the Best. Show. Ever.? Didn’t Ned have a whole store?  You ever notice how many southpaws Springfield actually has?  What’s the deal?  Well.. let’s take a look at the TV Series to find out.

“White Christmas Blues” (S25:E8)

Springfield winds up as the only town with snow for Christmas.  There’s lots of money to be made by the residents.  The Simpson family takes in boarders, Bart spanges for money and earns tips, Grampa gets tips playing carols on the piano, Nelson’s Mom is the star of North Pole Dancing: Santa sits on your lap for $200.  But that’s not what Christmas is all about.  Lisa is off to buy presents with a purpose such as patches to help Maggie kick her binkie addiction, radishes for Homer and a book for Bart.  Only one place to do that apparently… the Towne Centre at Springfielde Glenne.  You can go to Abercrombie & Rich, meet Santa, or pick up a left-handed doodad at Ned Flander’s Leftorium Express kiosk.

His store was apparently put out of business by the Southpaw Superstore.  Now he’s down to half a kiosk.  The other half has make-up and a clerk named Nasrine.  “No cream is finer than mall kiosk cream.  J Lo use it.”

We see the Leftorium Express again in “I Won’t Be Home for Christmas” (S26:E9) when Homer is alone on Christmas Eve after ticking off Marge. Christmas is Ned’s busy season aka selling three left-handed scissors and only two being returned.  Ned and Homer have a sweet moment when Homer buys a left-handed eyelash curler to be nice.  “Unto us this day a neighbor is born” or in Homer’s words… “Jerk@$$ Homer has become @$$jerk Homer.”

So there you go friends.  The origin of the new kiosk which would go great in any mall set-up you come up with.  Poor Ned got downgraded from a whole store in the mall to a one-sided kiosk sharing program.  WHat do you think of the first prize?  Where’d you put it?  Sound off and happy jolly tapping.
