It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.
So…here is your Open Thread. No new episode of the Simpsons tonight, but Christmas Act 2 is in full swing..and MAGGIE arrived in our games this week! Thoughts on it all?
Christmas just happened! Did you enjoy your day? What did you do? How was your weekend? Do anything fun and exciting? Gearing up for the New Year celebration? How will you be celebrating it?

Ciara, your Moe’s Zoo area looks great now! (Even though there’s still snow) you’ve found a great design that makes the 3 additions look intended. I was only able to buy one of them (the bird-pig). I’ll try not to be jealous that I can never do what you did with it. 😛 😉 🙂

Did the Police Station ever have a payout? Now I can’t remember if it ever did and I haven’t been able to collect from mine, but I don’t really have a time frame since the IRS building allows me to collect so many taxes at once. I didn’t notice it until I accidentally clicked the building itself and it doesn’t have a pop up with the timer like the rest of the taxable buildings.

The police station only pays out if someone vandalizes it for you.

Question: I added someone as a Friend who pledged not to vandalize – and then they did within a couple weeks. Is there any way to send them a note reminding them not to do that, or do I have to just Hide them (or Unfriend them)?
Not via the game itself…
I wouldn’t get rid of that neighbor just yet…there’s a lot of accidental vandalism going around because of the bears (as you can see if you read the tons of comments here from people apologizing for it).
BTW, “hiding” a neighbor won’t keep them from visiting your town…it just means you won’t see them in your list. The only way to keep someone from visiting your town is to unfriend them.
Also, if you can afford to buy a bunch of training walls, I’d recommend doing that and hiding them around town (or use them as walls, with a tree or other decoration covering the doors). Once you have enough training walls, being vandalized won’t hurt your Conform-o-Meter at all, so it won’t really matter (unless you just dislike it aesthetically).
It’s just a matter of aesthetics… but I’ll take your advice for now and see if things get better as the bears go away.
I accidentally vandalized some neighbors also trying to tap on a bear. I take my time now and wait until the bears are clear of any buildings.
Am I wrong in assuming the outfit Homer is wearing on the splash screen, would be his Mr. Plow attire? Or just a random snow outfit? Having missed it the last time since I wasn’t playing back then, that’s one skin and/or vehicle I wouldn’t mind getting in Springfield, even though Homer is the master of disguises in TSTO. Just strange how if it is the Mr Plow outfit, it isn’t offered yet, that i know of. Don’t want to get my hopes up since we all know what happened at Halloween with 75% of the items they could have released but didn’t, and we didn’t even get Claus Co. for Xmas. Don’t get me wrong, definitely enjoy what we did get, but newer players want the old items also (At least I hope I’m not the only one)
I think it’s just a random snow outfit. The Mr. Plow outfit is blue with red trim. Similar style I suppose but different colors.
Darn and here I got my hopes up for finally getting that skin (and maybe truck lol)

I want to send out an apology to my neighbors. I’ve been in my game a lot less this past week because my 3 year old gave me a mild concussion. She’s fine, thank goodness – has a head like a brick, apparently. 😉 It was a tickling incident resulting in Mommy getting a nearly broken nose and a week-long headache and nausea. Feeling much better now, but had to limit my screen and concentration time. I tried to get gifts out daily, but I know I missed a few days here and there.
Hopefully everyone is doing well and enjoying the first day of the new year!

I feel your pain neighboreeno, the other week my 2 year old hopped up suddenly and cracked me above my right eye with the top of his head. No orbital fracture or concussion or anything like that, but it was sore and bruised for days.
We spend so much time looking out for threats to our kids, that we often overlook the threat from within! 😉
What’s hilarious is I feel like my family is out to get me sometimes. Back in August, my BIL accidentally stepped on my hand and broke a finger, then my daughter brained me. 😉

haha i hear you on the family being out to get us. i grew up playing soccer all my life, wreaking havoc on the pitch, and never took as many shots to the crotch as i’ve taken from my two boys in their relatively short time wreaking havoc on this planet….

I didn’t mean to laugh, because it’s not really funny when a guy gets hit in the family jewels, but I confess I still did. My husband has experienced similar problems in fatherhood. 🙂
We are conditioned or born to laugh at these things. Remember, it’s only funny until someone really gets hurt…then it’s hilarious, as the saying goes. 😉
Personally, I don’t find it very funny anymore. When you experience it yourself then you will know why not. BDSM people exist, so not everyone may agree.
I’ve made my share of mistakes. The typos being the least of them. Breaking my tablet still not being too high. Here’s to our mistakes being forgiven and to, uh…. let’s just drink.

I’m happy for the free new year themed free gift in game today. Nice little surprise to wake up to this morning. I’m looking forward to Act 3 and see what that brings us. I think I have one rouge present somewhere in my town still, no idea where. Oh well .. Be safe and happy tapping.
So, I got the crystal ball for NYE, and being curious, tapped it. The ball descended and began to burn.
I’m really hoping it will reset at some point. Putting it in storage didn’t restore it.

I just it a Notification message about a free item in the game, but didn’t get one.what is it and how do I get it?
Also I notice that Maggie has locked quests and another locked quest under Marge to carry Maggie.
How do I unlock them?
I think that the starting Cutscene of the game is based on Season 23’s 6th episode, where Homer gets a MyPad and it gets broken when he falls in a sewer, and he meets a pet crocodile/alligator, which has a clearly visible label that reminds that it was a gift for Bart, but just looking at him, afterwards that, here comes a tree with a sap writing that reads “Hope”, which is noticed by Ned as a miracle.
In a cut, the Plant is shown, a croak from a crow, then Homer shown playing with his MyPad, which is interrupted by Mr Burns, and Homer quickly launches a translation app, which translates to old language to new language, then switched.
I think that is the base of the “Kaboom” Cutscene.
Did anyone else’s New Year’s quest disappear?
Is it only me that got a questline with the title ” Out with the Old Pt 1″ which requires Homer to do some 30 min tasks….😕
Nope, I got that too, hoping its leading up to some sort of New Years theme event. Only time will tell.
I’m enjoying Maggie. She’s adorable and her tasks are fun! She is my favorite part of the Christmas event! I can’t imagine anything better in Act 3.

I’m not exactly sure. She popped up while I was on Level 2 of Cletus task in Act 2. I was pleasantly surprised. I thought I had to finish the end of the task.
Hi guys. I was just wondering if the payout time on buildings such as Krusty burger and Pink house has increased for anybody? The last time I checked, the next payout on these buildings was 20 days for me. Apologies if this has already been answered in a previous post.
Sounds like you may be glitching, mine still shows the normal times for both buildings.

That I don’t know personally, as I never had it happen yet. Short of the usual troubleshooting, may want to wait for a response from one of the Addicts hosts, as I don’t know half as much as they would.

Totally second this sentiment! IT IS AWESOME. I will confess when I first saw it I almost spent 2 donuts just to see her do it again. Had it not been an hour task I probably would have. Cute little balloon!!!! So sweet!
Unlocked festivus last night and started his quest, woohoo!!
And thanks to all my lovely neighbours I’ve crafted a second ski chalet and a second fireplace, but I’m all good with bows now! I have over 1000 with nothing to spend them on, so thanks very much but please give to the less fortunate 😊
I’m also trying to give to those lower on my list who are only playing nice to give them a little boost before the end of the act.
Also sent ALL Springfeilders on the carolling task. It’s gonna look awesome when it’s ready for payout.
And started what I think is the new years quest with Homer. I wonder where this one leads…
