Where Did THAT Come From – The Wooly Bully

Just hear those sleigh bells ring-a-ling, jing jing jing-a-ling too… Yes Addicts it’s lovely weather for an origin together with you!

In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where Did THAT Come From?

Woo hoo! It’s holiday time in TSTO and with the first Act of goodness comes all sorts of different items. I took my first look at everything and smiled big. Snowmen, merrymakers, holiday facades… so cool. I could probably gush and gush about everything but that’s not what I’m supposed to be doing… it’s time again for me to dip into my noggin of Simpsons info and write about specific stuff. For this post I will be going over one of the crafting prizes from Act I of the 2015 TSTO Holiday Event… The Wooly Bully. But what does this building have to do with the Best. Show. Ever. and Christmas?  Let’s take a look at the TV Series to find out.

“Poppa’s got a Brand New Badge” (S13:E22)

So not everything for the 2015 TSTO Holiday Event was picked from Christmas episodes but that’s ok. A store that sells beanies fits right in. This episode starts with a heat wave. Literally so hot that when Homer gets out of bed, Marge is stuck to his backside. The old folks try to hide in the city morgue just to get some A/C. The whole town is overrunning their air conditioners. Leave it to Homer to cause a blackout by plugging in a dancing Santa decoration. “Every time Santa and I get together it’s a disaster.”

After a resulting “explosion of pent up rage” and looting, the town is out of control and a complete mess. I mean seriously… people steal from the Tire Fire. After Homer finds out that someone stole Lisa’s Malibu Stacey collection during the riot, the problem finally has a human face and he’s off to find the culprit. He finds a cap from the Wooly Bully at the scene of the crime.

Heading to the store, the beatnik who runs it is hilarious but not as great as Homer’s line of questioning. “Do you sell caps? To people? People with heads?” Jimbo shows up capless to get a new beanie and the crime is solved. In Dolph’s defense, he stole them because they demean women.

So there you go. The easiest to complete crafting prize comes from an episode with the opposite of snow that vaguely relates to the 2015 TSTO Holiday Event via a dancing Santa. It does make sense though since wooly caps would warm up folks in the snow, right? What do you think? I crafted this one immediately so I’m guessing a lot of folks did too. Where’d you place it? So now you know how the building connects to the TV series. Sound off in the comments and happy snowman-making.

TTFN… Wookiee out!

  1. Wooly Bully was the name of Sam (of Sam and the Pharoahs) cat.

  2. maybe i am missing it, but is there a link for the new years quest “out with the old”

  3. Anything exciting at the end of Homer’s New Year’s quest? Right now he’s stealing ice sculptures. I’m always hoping for free donuts at the end of quests. 😉

  4. Why these type of articles and not Maggie?

  5. Im pretty sure it was Jimbo the one that lost his cap.

  6. The “Wooly Bully” is a song that came out in the 1960s by Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs. I love that song! And that’s why I was so eager to get this prize. I was stoked when I saw it! If you haven’t heard this song, look it up. It’s awesome.

  7. Hate to be picky, but shouldn’t that be Jimbo, not Dolph…?
