Christmas may be over, but the fun is just beginning! Snow still covers the ground and Maggie and friends have arrived in town! So break out those Christmas gift cards and stock up on donuts because there are brand new premium items in our stores! Now I know you may be trying to decide if these are worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it! We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add the Slide Factory to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this Factory of highs and lows to your town!
Building: Slide Factory
Donut Price: 100 Donuts
Earns: 135

Conform-O-Meter: Consumerism +10
Size: 8×11
Unique: Yes, only 1 per Springfield
Pros:
-Earns a decent amount of event currency every 6hrs.
-Fun looking building for Springfield
-Short questline associated with it
-Bart will have a 4hr task there
-Animated when in use.
Cons:
-Pricey for just a building (Happy Sumo is also 100 donuts and comes with Akira)
-Once the event is over the big benefit, it paying out event currency, is worthless as it’ll just pay out cash
Final Thought:
Premium:
I like it. Sure 100 donuts is a little pricey for it, but it has a character task and pays out event currency until the 19th. Plus it looks cool. As a premium player I’d pick this up…and grab it ASAP so you can maximize the benefit of the currency payout.
Freemium:
There’s really only 1 big reason to get this…you need the event currency. And personally I don’t think it’s worth 100 hard earned freemium donuts for what it is/does. You’re much better off spending the 100 donuts on the Happy Sumo and Akira. I don’t think you’ll have trouble earning enough event currency to earn all of the prizes along as you tap diligently.
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do…and I can tell I’ll be grabbing this one (I just really like the look of it). However, this is one of those the earlier you get it the better. So if you’re thinking about grabbing it do so ASAP to make the most out of the event currency payouts.

Bart: Oh cool, a slide factory! Finally we get some fun places in Springfield.
Quimby: A recent survey of citizens made it clear that we have a 45% deficit of fun activities in Springfield. My staff has determined slides are the safest city improvement a mayor an make to achieve re-election.
Bart: Awesome, can we get other stuff besides slides? A helter skelter…A ski hill…a bobsled run?
Quimby: Ahmm, I don’t know. I’m afraid that would be a, ah, slippery slope to go down.

I like this building, but if I get it I won’t be able to afford Ling (assuming the price posted for her elsewhere is accurate) so I won’t be getting it. Unless it turns out Ling is not being released, or her tasks are terrible.
I think it’s the only time I’ve paid donuts for a building without a character. Not disappointed.
Slide Factory –
You would have to not be playing this game enough to not earn enough Pacifiers (I’m playing and earning enough to reach my goals). I guess this is another Building for campers who need the extra event currency …. 😉

Well, tapping on a menu icon over a restaurant building doesn’t pay out in menus, either! 😉
But does it make sense for the Slide Factory to have a Pacifier icon if the person that uses it is Bart? I know it pays out in Pacifiers, so that’s why the icon. Is that clearer on how it teased me?
I was just kidding that it would work. I thought it was interesting and only marginally actually hoped it would be true. Cuz, why not.
I absolutely could not pass on this one, I love it! Looks so unique and goes great in my new kids area complete with moe’s petting zoo, the play dough factory, rubber baby buggy bumpers, toy factory and stone cutters day care centre! May have gone a little over board on spending this year but I figured what the hell, I am loving this event and all the baby stuff!
On the downside, had to go back to work today 🙁 getting in the habit of tapping all the Bears when I get up in the morning, then around lunch time when they’ve re spawned then shortly after finishing work, so I don’t think I’m missing out on too much event currency.
Not sure if it works the way I’m thinking, but while I’m at work…… if any neighbour sees my slide factory ready to pay out please tap it to reset the clock,

I bought it because I like the way it looks and how it pairs together with the Playdough Factory.
I’m thinking I’ll pass on this one. My heart is set on Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers and the Babysitter Bandit. One of my favorite episodes. Of course I have to wait for the Should I buy post first!

In my opinion this act seems a little too babyish 😛
I got it because I really love the episode its from. Season 5 is so great and I was rewatching it all last week. I do have to quit acquiring buildings while more than half my town is still a disaster though. I still really like it aside from the weak animation.
Can anyone other than Maggie and kearneys other son earn pacifiers?

I’m pretty sure Kearney’s other son doesn’t earn pacifiers. I’d be all over that if it were true.
Have you finished his questline? I’ve been assuming that the folks who have been saying that have, and that’s when it becomes available. I don’t think Maggie started earning pacifiers right away, although I could be mistaken about that.
I agree, that might be true at the end. Yes, Maggie did earn pacifiers from the beginning, in act 3 obviously, but not in act 2. Well, I have spoiler blinders on, so I don’t know what is up ahead lin terms of pacifiers, only what is happening now.
I think it looks great. I am a freemium player. I bought cuz it’s available only for a limited time. I like it with the new playdough factory. Happy Sumo is also on my wish list, but it’s a much smaller building – less impact on the landscape.
Just wondering where i look on the site for what other characters do, ive save up 400 donuts and thinking i should spend it on characters. 🙂

I’d love to get the extra pacifiers, but I make it a policy never to get a premium item *just* to get additional event currency. And, unfortunately, I don’t really feel like this building fits into the “aesthetic” of my Springfield and the animation doesn’t sound all that exciting (thank you, Tot, for the heads up on that). Plus, I’d prefer to spend money on characters over buildings (unless the building really excites me), because we get a lot of freemium buildings and, even though I still have land available to buy, I’m mindful of the land that each new building requires.
So, for me, as a freemium player, this is a “no.” Gonna have to hope that just regular tapping will suffice to get me to where I need to for this act!
I like the factory, but I’m also waiting for them to make the Box Factory. XD This and the Firework shop would be great with that for recreating that street in their debut episode.
Who cares about pacifiers? They’re so easy to get. It’s just one of the most awesome looking buildings ever. Trying to decide if it looks better by the Fireworks and Puppydogs Store or next to the Blocko store.
Just bought it, and glad I did. It is a very unique and cool building. May seem symmetrical but is not. Pairs great with Playdough Factory, which is why I placed the two next to each other. Great addition to “industrial buildings” because it is a factory.
I got it straight away for the pacifier payout …..as I said on another thread……it could make all the difference when we get to the last prize, 🐻 🎈 🍩 🙂

as always, I’m reading plenty of comments from people who think everybody can play the game all day while at work, well when I go to work, I can’t play till 10 hours later, so I might struggle and fall behind
being Animated should be removed from the Pro category because it is just chimney smoke (no kids/people sliding down it)
But before this post I had the assumption that there would be people sliding, but even with them not, the building is pretty cool and if it wasn’t for the event currency I wouldn’t have gotten it. Weeeeeeeee!!
There should have been an episode of Slider’s where In a parallel universe/earth there would be nothing but Slide factories.. (Yeah, I used to watch that show. Wasn’t the best but at the time better than infomercials or whatever else was on back then)

no it doesn’t… unlike the slide factory, it doesn’t say “Generates Event Currency” under the thumbnail in the store menu……..
The building doesn’t, but the character does.
Personally I think the slide factory is definitely worth the doughnuts it costs, at 135 pacifiers every 6 hours it’s a huge help.
Could you tell us how it is animated? Do you see kids slide?

I don’t remember the exact final tally but:
12 bears per hour at 8 pacifiers = 96 per hour
96 per hour at 24 hours per day = 2300+ earned in a day
Bunny’s calendar number is 1700 needed every day.
With friend visits and task rewards, you can earn all the prizes without this purchase.

What if I need to work 10 hours per day and can’t tap, then after tapping I need to sleep 8 hours ….approximately how many pacifiers will I miss out on ? 🙂
Well, sleep 8 hours wake up,to 60 bears (20 banked 40 free) = 480
Same thing on re turning from 10 hours of work = 480
Play 5 or 6 hours before leaving for work and before bed and there’s another 400 or 480.
Toss in a daily bonus, some friend visits and 1700 should be achievable.
Or you could forgo work, sleep, family, friends and devote 24/7 to this game like some of us. I’m joking…I think. 8 hours of sleep? #jealous #seriously #sleepdeprivationismakingmelosemymind #icantstophashtagging #enoughsenough 😜

i am lucky at my work because we get a half hour lunch break, a morning 10 min break and an afternoon 10 min break – in which i tap like crazy! not to mention the half hour train ride to and from work each day…

I immediatly bought because it looks so great in my Factories district. Plus, it’s our only chance to get it while Akira is permanently available.
