It’s time to get our space on, as Deep Space Homer has hit our Springfields! A fun new mini event that’s a “blast”!
Of course, as with all events, a questline comes with it to help move us through the ins and outs of the event…and unlock all of the prizes. As was mentioned on the rundown post this mini event is similar to the Thanksgiving 2015 Event, in that you’ve got to complete various tasks to unlock the prizes.
So let’s take a look at the questline to see just how to unlock all the fun space themed prizes and take your game to infinity and beyond!

At this point you’ll be able to make the Rocket “Blast Off” to potentially earn prizes. We’ll break this down in another fully detailed post.

Make Frink Host Observatory Event- 5hrs, Earns $300, 75xp
Completing this will unlock a new 5hr task for Skinner and Frink at the Observatory (earns $300, 75xp)
And that my friends completes the main questline of the Deep Space Homer Event!

This just popped for me and I am already on part 5 … I have a couple more days of KEM farming to get enough donuts to get the barney at a discount … if i complete this questline before i get the donuts will i miss out on the deal? should i hold off a day before i complete it?
As this is a permanent addition to the game is it still possible to trigger this quest and get the rocket?

The Deep Space Homer event has just triggered for me?! 🤔 Wasn’t playing TSTO yet when it originally launched; am still at the last stage of the Season tie-in questline and was waiting for Halloween to kick in, so I’m a bit surprised 😮
It triggered for me as well. I am a regular Tapped Out player but the last couple of years I got a little burnt out and come back in time for the major events like Halloween and Christmas. This even triggered for me and last night I had a HUGE content update which I figured were the Halloween files. I just don’t want to miss the Halloween event but so glad I am getting this content.
Bring back the Narobics tasks!!!!
Long after the event has ended, my Marge and Ms. Hoover still have a three hour task of Do Narobics which is forced to the top of their task lists (out of sequence) as though it was still part of a quest or something. Am I the only one this is happening to?

Ugh, yes! I keep accidentally sending them on that instead of the 8, 12, or 24 hour tasks I usually want.
So I have the rocket launch pad, but Homer won’t build the atomic missiles. It only says “Do it” when he’s doing another task. The event is almost over, so I guess I’m just stuck here :/
Contact EA and let them know what’s happening, see if they can clear it out for you
If I buy the observatory but don’t have Frink, will I be able to unlock and play the extra quest?
The post doent mention I need Frink as well as the Obstvatory?

I’ve noticed Marge has 2 unlocked quests, ‘write a smear article’s 24hrs and ‘do a load of laundry’ 1d 12hrs. How or when are theses unlocked?
They’re part of lurleens questline
I have Lurleen. I can’t work out why these 2 quests are locked. I’m pretty sure marge did them as part of the questline. Have I missed something?
Just a bug in the coding. Caused them not to disappear from the list after completing lurleens questline
If you have earned all the stars for the current part of the quest you cannot keep collecting for the next part. I found this out because I had Homer on another task (playing some catch up) and had to wait to complete his deep space job. I knew I’d need more stars so kept doing those jobs and none of them carried over. Just thought that’d be good info.
Towards the end of the xmas/winter event I had a small stockpile of donuts. There wasn’t any premium holiday items I just had to have so I bit the bullet and spent 250 on Barney. Now a couple of weeks later, Barney is available with a huge discount. I feel if you already had Barney when this event hit there should have been some kind of reward. As much as I enjoy this game (I’m a daily tapper since 2013), it seems like loyal longtime players get screwed.
Now if I want Astronaut Barney I gotta shell out another 100+ donuts. WTF.
I also bought Barney just before the discount. I had been saving donuts forever to get him. I guess I should have waited another week. Ah well.
Help. Cheap space Homer pt.7 won’t start. Tried putting all my space stuff in storage, reinstalling the game and it won’t give me a start button to launch the space ship. Any ideas anyone? Please.
You probably got locked up with the Rocket ship. It’s going around for some players. My best suggestion is to contact EA

I’ve completed the cheap space homer part 4. But can’t seem to view the animation. Is it just the dialogue our is it an actual animation?
Nearly complete with cheap space homer part 5, but if there is an animation to go along with that part of the mission any help to view would be appreciated
The animation is the next task that he’s required to do. It’s just an outdoor task…
I am torn between spending Donuts on the Springfield Observatory or Barney with the Bowl A Rama (free Astronaut Skin) ….. this was a fun Weekend Event (that’s all it took for me to complete this), now I am waiting for Level 60 (I’ve cycled thru Level 59 three times) 😉

Did you place the NARA training center?
New 5-hour jobs at the observatory for Frink and Skinner… both of which already had 6-hour jobs there. Really, EA? Was that the best you could come up with?
Anyone else have been having problems with this event? Cause I cant complete the 3rd part, my characters have finished their chores but when I try to end it to earn the stars it sends me to krustyland, do I need something there? (Sorry for my english)
No you shouldn’t. You may want to contact EA to see what’s going on
If your rocket crashes on take-off, you can then put the launch pad into your inventory and then take it straight out to have another go.
Cool! Pity it’ll be patched in the next update.
Mine crashed so I put in in storage then out then it launched !!! Thank You. I only have the launch pad & can’t do any jobs. They’ll do the patch the day before its to end with my luck. Happy Tapping !!!

I’m also trying to find out which intellectuals can go meet at the observatory. So far, just Lisa and CBG. Not Martin?! I have a lot of chars on a 24hr cycle and don’t know which chars to store and replace to pull them out. Thanks!

i was awarded debris multiple times, but only the first time was it in my inventory. now every time it says I won debri, it isnt anywhere in my inventory, i got the kang topirary, hail ants sign, but only 1 set of debris … weird.
Same thing happened 2 me. I also can’t do any jobs with my launch pad til they come up with a patch & my luck it’ll be the day before this game ends. Happy Tapping !!!
I am awaiting mynRocket to return. Is there a Part 2 to this Quest Line? Or, can I start sending characters on 8 &12 hour tasks?
Am I simply character rich, or free time rich, or was this an “easy” story line?

I need HELP !!! I went through all the quests & my rocket launched & will launch again. I have the Springfield Observatory so I should have another quest. It says new jobs 4 Lisa & others plus it said Skinner & Frink now have new jobs but NONE of the characters are showing any stars anymore. They also are not showing any quest 4 the characters. My observatory obviously isn’t working. I put it in storage then back in place & it did nothing but start my time all over. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also all my characters were free at the time even Quimby. Are the collecting stars over with now. I get the rocket & that’s it ??? Happy Tapping & thank you 4 reading this & helping. Once you get the rocket you have no need for stars, which is why you don’t seec anyone with star earning tasks
Thanks for clarifying. Oddly I still have star-earning tasks for Marge, miss Hoover and Luann (do narobics, except their task has moved to the launch pad). Are these permanent tasks?
Is the Astronaut Barney questline under the same time limits as the main questline? I’m trying to figure out whether to keep using him to earn stars or intersperse that with making more progress on his own quesline.
Funny that the prize window doesn’t even show an end date for the event, too, like it usually does.

Well, this is interesting. I just finished the first rocket launch, and it hadn’t occurred to me that the “debris” would be actual “blown-up Springfield debris!” Since someone said that they’d heard that “Where’s Maggie?” is aimed at encouraging people to tidy up their towns, I wonder if this is more of the same (assuming that what they heard is correct) as I’ve got plenty of neighboreenos who’ve been hoarding all of their debris instead of cleaning it up. I’ve always presumed it was because they couldn’t get any more and would rather hold on to it; well, now they *can* get more, so perhaps they won’t feel so attached to their collections. I suddenly feel the need to go buy some tinfoil…
So Springfielders can now go to space but we still don’t have an airport? Why
EA, why? Just one airport. It doesn’t have to be big or have a lot of planes.
Can NARA stars be collected in Friends towns ? I couldn’t tell if tapping them added to my total . I know I’ve tapped boardwalks and don’t get any ?

I love this mini event. Something to always keep me tapping. I just finished putting all my Christmas buildings together (they’re in a corner of my Springfield) now I have to figure where to put these mini buildings. I’m thinking somewhere by the mountains. And an off topic, when I got my mystery box this morning I received Lard Lad Donuts 😬. Meanwhile I’m happy I got it, the timing is off since I had gotten the Christmas skin for it in 2014. Oh well next Christmas I can actually use it 😁😁

Can anyone tell me what is supposed to happen once you launch the rocket? Do we now wait 12 hours to find out if the rocket crashes or if we get debris or one of the other prizes?

I can’t believe that I just tore down my makeshift NASA base because it looked worse than I hoped. Now 3 days later (literally) I get an official space base, WOOHOO!!
(I used rail corners to create launchpads (empty ones tho) etc and it was not bad, just not good enough to keep permanentely)

Is anyone else having trouble keeping the event going in their game. My game has updated and unupdated twice now. I keep losing progress. I’m on Android by the way. Are there any ways to fix this issue?
Sounds like possible device or connection issue. All we can offer is basic troubleshooting…
Like make more room on device for app.
Use wifi instead of data to ensure download
Make sure the game syncs by visiting a neighbor before exiting out
Clear cache & data/ Uninstall / restart device/ reinstall app… if your game is account linked.
