It’s time to get our space on, as Deep Space Homer has hit our Springfields! Like all events, it’s not without it’s share of premium content and characters. Of course those premium characters wouldn’t be complete without a questline!
Astronaut Barney is a premium skin for Barney that you can pick up during the Deep Space Homer Event. He comes with a fun 4 part questline, that you may want to hold off on doing until the Event is over…since it’ll stick around for a while.
Let’s take a look at the Turbo Tappin’ version of Astronaut Barney’s questline…

I never thought I would own barney so was so glad to finally pick him up at bargain basement price!! Even if I did have to cave in and spend real money on him! Now I just need ea to bring back the Guinea pig rescue centre with the little Guinea pig npc and my life would be complete
I finally broke down and spent real cash on this game for the very first time to get Barney, the bowl R Rama and space Barney. It was 250 donuts and I was about 100 short. So I paid for donuts. I did get an in game rebate of 130 donuts for making this purchase, which forced me to do it. Will I pay real money again? Probably not until we get Uncle Moe’s Family Feedbag or anything from the Bart Sells his Soul episode.
Also in love the Barney doing back flips animation.
Ugh… Would really love to have Barney, and have enough if it was just discounted – but can’t afford the cost before discount to get it… Ugh, and can’t gain donuts quick enough to get his before he is gone….. Ugh Ugh Ugh.
Holy cow…i just bought barney and it dropped my Righteousness from 5 stars to a half a star! Not cool😦
I really like Astronaut Barney. Off-topic, why didn’t you guys ever continue “Build Bunny’s Town”? There was one post, and then it never continued.
Lack of response. We then just switched to simple design posts, which went over better.
I was saving up for Barney for many months. When the update hit, I had 242. Got the 5 from gathering space food, 3 more for finding Maggie and Barney was mine at a huge discount. I couldn’t be happier.
..except that the chips are gone, now that I finished the main questline.
Not started the questline yet but is it just me or do they all seem to be getting shorter and shorter. Almost like EA is getting lazy with its individual character story writing so they can churn out more events to get random stuff with and people to throw donuts at.

Think the opposite. Instead of having weeks to a month down time between major events, they’ve been filling the gaps with little mini-events. I think we’re getting more this way, not less.
Don’t get me wrong, I personally think this one was mostly a major cash grab (not that many new items introduced, trying to sell previously released items, and manipulating it where everyone had to pay the same price for the new Barney skin whether they had him or not), but it was still a decent time killer and the rocket ship is going to be a nice, permanent bonus game. Plus they’ve found a way to provide us with trash to scatter around town again (if you want, or a slight chance at bonuts if you don’t).
It didn’t knock my socks off, but I would have rather had the mini-event than not have had it.

instabuy for Astronaut Barney. So happy EA let us have the opportunity to earn those extra donuts during the last couple of holiday events. Totally loved this mini event. Deep Space Homer and Astronuat Barney have some great quotes and this was one of my favorite Simpsons episodes.
I got him, would of been nice to have barney and astro homer to have a together job, but was enjoyable.

I really liked Astronaut Barney. I think he’s been sort of overlooked in the franchise lately. I noticed he also had some lines in one of the recent episodes too. Hopefully he’ll start appearing more.
