Daily Challenges Rundown

2/8/16 Note About Krustyland/Sideshow You Daily Challenge: If you get this challenge, it’s not working.  A TON of players are having issues with it.  My best suggestion is to skip it.  I know it may pay out a donut, but you’re still better off skipping it for today and moving on.  If you’ve already skipped today’s task and this is your second task…best thing I can tell you to do is contact EA.  The good news is not completing the task won’t prevent you from moving on in the challenges, it’ll just hang out in the challenge box until it’s resolved.

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

So Daily Challenges have hit our games!  A fun replacement for the Daily Combo…tasks to do each day for the opportunity to earn donuts!  And who doesn’t love free donuts?

While we broke down the basics of the Daily Challenges in the rundown post and the Turbo Tappin’ post, now’s the time to break everything down in more detail.  Since I know you guys are all about the details…

So let’s take a look and the finer details of the Daily Challenges…

HOW DO I FIND THE DAILY CHALLENGES? 

There are two ways you can access the Daily Challenges.  First you can access it by tapping on the Daily Challenge Icon in the top right corner of your main Springfield screen.

And if you see an ! on the Icon that means you have a new Challenge Available:

You can also access the Daily Challenge Screen via the Big Box Store.  Simply tap on it and the screen will come up

HOW DO I COMPLETE THE DAILY TASKS?

Well it’s pretty simple, just do what it says 😉  However, I would suggest hitting the Go To button next to the days task, it’ll quickly bring you to the character or task.  It’ll also help ensure that the task counts towards the Daily Challenge Task.  So just be sure to hit Go To and you’ll be golden 🙂

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE TASKS?

A new task will appear each day, which means every single day including Saturday and Sunday.  (this is different than my initial assessment on the rundown post)

I believe you will have as much time as you need to complete a task, in other words skipping a day won’t prevent the next day’s tasks from unlocking.  But it looks like you can’t let more than 3 stack up, from what I’m understanding.  And that’s (the 3 stack up) based on this:

The wording at the bottom has changed from the timer to the next task to complete the current challenges for more.

However, I can’t be 100% sure until tomorrow (Saturday) morning when a new task unlocks.  I’m testing this out in my “B” game, intentionally skipping today’s task, to see what happens.  Once I have the answer I’ll update this section of the post.

So stay tuned to tomorrow morning for a definite answer on this one.

Update: Yes you can skip a day (or two) and still do the previous days tasks.  Just remember you an only have 3 showing at once….

Also, it appears there is a cap on the number of days you’ll have to complete the challenge (ie to win the bonus prize..).  It looks like it’s 40+ days if you’re level 16 and up…

HOW LONG ARE THE DAILY TASKS?

The task times will vary.  There are some tasks that will take 1m and others that will take 8hrs.  Just depends on the day and if you’ve swapped a task out or not.

The good news is the longest task time is 8hrs…so no crazy long tasks.

WHAT ARE THE TASKS FOR EACH DAY?

The tasks are not the same for each person. They will vary each day based on where you are in the game and some random factors.  So I’m not going to post a list of tasks…since it wouldn’t make sense to as you won’t know what will appear tomorrow.

However, I will tell you the tasks can range from a character task to collecting items in Springfield Heights.  Varying from collecting 5 items in Springfield Heights to collecting 15 items in Springfield Heights.  So be prepared for some potential Springfield Heights grinding for Daily Challenges as well…

ARE ALL THE DAILY PAYOUTS CASH/DONUTS OR CAN I WIN OTHER STUFF?

The vast majority of the payouts for the daily challenges are donuts or cash.  That that varies if the task is Easy, Medium or Hard.

In general daily donut or cash payouts will range from $1,000-$3,000 cash.  Or 1-6 donuts.

There are a couple of hard payouts where you can earn the Tire Fire or Squeaky Voiced Teen, if you don’t have them.  Or 15 donuts.

In addition a day refill for the XP Collider is also a potential prize.

Update: You can also win SH Currency.

Don’t get to caught up on if a task is easy, medium or hard.  Just know that you can win donuts, cash and a couple of other potential prizes at times.  So just watch to see what you’re earning for that day.

HOW DO I TRADE/SWAP A TASK?

So this is a neat feature of these Daily Challenges….you have the ability to swap tasks.  Which means if you don’t like the task you’re being asking to complete you can trade it for a different (random) task.

You can only switch ONE per day.  Which means if you don’t like the task it’s replaced with, you’re stuck with it.  This also means that if you can “stack” challenges and skip a day, you will only be able to swap one of those tasks.  

The game explains how to switch a task.  But for those who missed it here’s the breakdown:

When you’re in the Challenge Screen an X appears next to the open challenges.  If you want to switch out the task you’re working on simply tap on that X:

And it will trade the current task for another one.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I CANCEL A TASK? DO I LOSE IT? DOES IT GET REPLACED? WILL I STILL GET MY PRIZE?

So when you cancel a task it just switches it out for another task.  So you don’t lose the task for the day.  It just changes it do a different one, it gets replaced.  And doing the new task still counts towards your bonus total.

WHAT IS THE BEST STRATEGY FOR TRADING TASKS?

So, there’s no perfect strategy for trading tasks.  Generally I will say that if the task you’re seeing pays out donuts, like this one:

Keep it!  Don’t trade it away.  You won’t get a better payout than donuts.

But if a task is paying out cash, like this:

That’s one that you may want to swap, to see if you can get a donut payout instead.

However, I will caution you…be careful what you swap!  It’s not a guarantee that if you swap a cash payout you’ll get a donut payout in return.  You could end up with a harder or longer task, and still have a cash payout. Here’s an example…

This morning my task was to collect Krustyland Tickets, it paid out cash.  I promptly switched it thinking it was easy and the next task for sure would pay out donuts.  Nope.  Instead I got an 8hr task for Krusty to complete and it still paid out cash.

So be careful what you switch.

But in general, it’s not a bad strategy to switch out cash payout tasks to try for a donut payout task.  Just keep in mind it’s not guaranteed that  swapping a cash task will give you a donut task.

WHAT IS THE BONUS PRIZE?

To see you bonus prize and requirements just look at the top of the Daily Challenge Menu, it’ll tell you how many Challenges you need to complete and what the prize will be for completing them:

So this one is complete 5 tasks to earn 3 donuts.

And this one is complete 10 challenges to earn 6 donuts.

The prizes are random and different for everyone.  They’re based on your current level…but they will be different for everyone.  Do don’t go crazy if yours is 6 donuts and your fellow Addict’s is 15 donuts.  They’ll balance out.

Here’s a look at all of the potential bouns payouts:

If you’re between Levels 8 and 15

And it’s completely random as to which one you’ll get to work on next…but at least it’s free donuts if you complete them!

I COMPLETED MY SET OF TASKS.  HOW DO I GET MY BONUS PRIZE?  

To claim your bonus donuts (bonuts) you’ll have to go into your Daily Challenge Screen and hit claim (this goes for the reward for each daily task as well…not hitting claim could prevent them from clearing…and you can’t have more than 3 at once).  You’ll see the bonus claim at the top of the screen if it’s cleared:

Just tap the Blue Claim Button and they’ll be awarded to you.

And for the daily tasks, just hit the claim button with those once you’ve completed the task:

And you’ll be awarded the daily payout…

So, if you haven’t received the payout check your Daily Challenge screen and make sure you’ve hit the blue Claim button…

And I hope that answers all of your burning Daily Challenge questions!  As well as helps you out if you’re still confused on it.

Now I know there are some of you who need to know all of the details so you can try to assess it yourself. You’ll want to know exactly what jobs are available, what payouts are available exactly.  Honestly, it won’t make a difference if you know or don’t know.  It’s random as to what you’re going to get.  So just relax with it and don’t stress.  If you see something you don’t like, switch it for a different task.  This is meant to be fun…so have fun with it! 🙂

Oh and I also know there are some of you who are wondering if all these free donuts means the end of TSTO….just relax.  You guys have been asking for more ways to get free donuts for years and now EA’s giving them to you.  Enjoy it for what it is and don’t stress.  It’s a game.  Games are meant to be fun.
