Should I Spend Donuts on the Valentine’s Cooling Towers?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s Valentine’s Day in Springfield!  Time to stock up on those sweet donuts…and no not for your sweetie!  But for all the new Valentine’s Day themed items in our stores! Now I know you might be wondering if this is worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it!  We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Valentine’s Cooling Towers to your Valentine’s celebration?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding these heart towers to your Springfield!

Facade: Valentine’s Cooling Towers
Donut Price: 25 donuts
Earns: Nothing…a skin for the Cooling Towers

Leaves Our Games on February 17th

-Looks cool
-Fun animation when in use, towers blow pink

-It’s a facade for the Cooling Towers, absolutely no benefit to it other than looking cool.

Final Thought:
Premium Or Freemium:
This is one of those..if you like it get it items.  25 donuts isn’t a ton, but it really adds no benefit to your Springfield.  So if you think it looks cool and want the pink coming out of the cooling towers pick it up.  🙂

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do…and I can tell you I’ll most likely be picking this one up.  However, this IS a limited-time item.  So if you’re thinking about getting it make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games on the 17th.

Here’s a look at the dialogue that appears when you buy the towers…

Mr. Burns: Smithers, why are people snickering at our giant hearts on the cooling towers?  Can’t anyone get into the spirit of Valentine’s Day?
Smithers: I’m afraid it’s my fault, Mr. Burns.  Because of my…orientation.
Mr. Burns: No sense of direction, eh?  We’ll just bring in some brawny mountain men to teach you.
Smithers: *gulp* As enticing as that sounds, I mean I’m…not quite straight.
Mr. Burns: Can’t have a crooked employee on my watch!  We’ll get a few muscled men masseuses to straighten you out.
Smithers: *double gulp*

What are your thoughts on the Valentine’s Cooling Towers?  Will you be spending the donuts to bring it to your Springfield (or did you already)? Thoughts on the Valentine’s Day update in general? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Incidentally, the cooling towers emit steam, not smoke.

…at least they’re supposed to. This *is* Springfield, after all!

  2. Couldn’t resist picking this up. Absolutely hilarious!! Tickled me… pink!

  3. Well I bought them! Here’s a picture of the smoke:

I’ve decided that Ruth is going to be my permanent building animator for this one since she’s never used for anything anyway. I did see she’s a part of the lounge questline but sadly I can’t afford another pink building. Jay is doing the same thing for me with El Chemistri.

Is anyone else’s town becoming a mess?? I was all caught up with designing during Christmas but since the space event hit I’m just throwing everything down. I’m having a really hard time finding inspiration for the space stuff. I’m gonna have to take some time on my days off for a design clean up 🛠🖇📝

    • I have the opposite problem: totally out of land. I have one little patch of green left for one more building, then I’m spent. Why do I have this compulsion to provide adequate parking spaces for every single building?

  4. I was wondering this the other day, and I know this has nothing to do with this post, but what will happen to the game tsto once the Simpson gets cancelled?

    • Well the Simpsons won’t get canceled. At this point they’ll let the show creators stop when they’re ready. (Probably season 30) But the game will keep going until it no longer makes EA money

      • I get the sense that they’re kind of bracing for that already by implementing so many new do-it-yourself projects, like Heights, Monorail, Money Mountain, Find Maggie, Daily Challenges, etc. — basically quests that don’t require level updates (didn’t they say as much in one of the recent update dialogues, something to the effect of trying to slow players down so EA didn’t have to keep churning out new content?). If Season 30 is the end, there will likely be plenty left to keep players occupied in TSTO that won’t involve new content.

        • I missed the dialogue you are referring to. Any transcript of it anywhere?

          • Finally found it. It was just a passing comment from the XP Collider update, but it did get me thinking about the truth behind it.

Homer: Rebuilding Springfield used to happen so fast–five minute jobs, hour-long build time– but now it’s taking forever.
Lisa: Maybe it has something to do with escalating lumber costs…
Homer: Yeah, or maybe the game designers are trying to slow us down because they’re running out of content.

    • I played a Muppets freemium game, and when that game was shut down, it was no longer playable because the actual content was hosted on the server. I imagine the same would happen with Tapped Out when that day eventually comes.

  5. i was also considering this until i saw it in a neighbor’s town… pink smoke not being transparent at all was a deal breaker for me.

  6. I already have the Candy Cooling Tower, but can you put a print or a video of Valentine’s Cooling Towers with the towers in use?

  7. smithers really needs to move on from mr. burns. it’ll never happen.

  8. Just a fun item. And it’s cheap so why not

  9. Don’t have the tower facade tho loving the dialog.

  10. The dialogue is hilarious.

  11. I’ve seen it in neighbors towns (not a fan). Wish the smoke was heart shaped (puffing a little at a time).

But thanks for the post, the dialog made me laugh 🙂

  12. good building decorated for tie-in

  13. I got them. ..super pink and fluffy ♡
