Should I Spend Donuts on the Vegas Sign, Limo & Casino Tokens?

Special thanks to Kim (kimberlyah794) for helping out with this post.  Y’all may know Kim from the comments and from some guest posts during the Winter Event.  Thanks for the help, again, Kim!

Hey, hey, Tappers!  We’re neck-deep in poker chips here in Springfield and our friends at EA are tempting us to spend something else that is small and round – DONUTS!

There are several new (and one returning) items in the store to tempt you, including the Welcome to Springfield Sign, Limo, and Casino Tokens.  Wanting to know if these items are worth spending your precious donuts?  Never fear, we are here to give you the run-down on these items!

Tapped_Out_Welcome_To_Springfield_Sign

Decoration: Welcome to Springfield Sign
Donut Price: 35 Donuts
Bonus %: 1% on all cash and XP
Conform-O-Meter:Vanity +400
Unique: Yes, only 1 per Springfield
Club Card Bonus: 240ico_mhub_casino_eventlevel when placed.

Premium or Freemium:  Honestly, it’s not a bad buy.  It’s not terribly expensive and it looks nice with the other casino-themed items.  Like any other decoration, if you like it, get it.

Tapped_Out_Limo

Decoration: Limo
Donut Price: 40 Donuts
Bonus %: 2.00% on all cash and XP
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +400
Size: 3X6
Unique: Nope.  Buy as many as you like

This is a returning premium item originally introduced way, way back in the spring of 2013 during an episode tie-in.

Pros:
-Another car for Springfield
Respectable Moe has a 1-hour task there (Fun in the Limo)

Cons:
-Without the Respectable Moe skin it’s just another decoration

Premium or Freemium:  Honestly, this one is also not a bad buy, even without Respectable Moe.  It’s not terribly expensive and it looks nice with the other casino-themed items, plus it’s another fun car for your town.  Like any other decoration, if you like it, get it.  Sure, there are better deals for the bonus percentage (like the Turbo Bike), but it’s still a decent bonus for the price.

ico_casino_gametoken_pack02_lg

Item:  Casino Tokens (a form of event currency)
Donut Price:  10 Tokens for 20 Donuts, 25 Tokens for 40 Donuts
Purpose:  Used to play casino games (like at Gaming Moe’s)
Unique:  No, can be purchased as often as desired

Premium or Freemium:  Stay away – far, far away – from this one.  It’s a complete waste of your donuts.  You can obtain the tokens for FREE by tapping on Gamblers and when you complete tasks at Burns’ Casino (1 token/4hrs per character that has a task there).

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do…and I can tell you I bought the sign and limo, but will pass on the tokens.   However, these ARE limited-time items.  So if you’re thinking about getting them make sure you make your final decision before they leave our games!

What are your thoughts on these items?  Will you be spending the donuts to bring them your Springfield (or did you already)? Where have you placed them?  Thoughts on the event? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

Again thanks to Kim (kimberlyah794) for her input on this post!

  1. Should i spend donuts on the peacock lounge?

  2. Do tokens carry over to the next act????

  3. <3 my Springfield Vegas Sign

I may get the Limousine later (as I do have the Respectable Moe Skin) 😉

  4. I got the sign because I thought it was a nice substitute for the giant Springfield sign.

  5. Cletus Dice Den just dropped 🙂

  6. “Loosest craps in town”. Ha

  7. So my WiFi went out the other day which sent me to my iPhone to play TSTO and I noticed a couple differences between the game on iOS and the game on Android/Kindle. For one when I tap a gambler in my town they move much faster in iOS than Kindle. Also, when playing slots at Moe’s there’s a cup from the Burns Casino next to the slot machine in the Kindle version, but not on iOS. Anyone else notice any differences in the game when playing on different platforms?

    • I have a cup next to mine in Iso

    • I play mostly on a 2 and 1/2 year old iPad, but I also have a few months old iPhone that I use mainly for friend visits, because it’s so much faster. On the iPad, I can see the Burns cup while playing slots, but not on the phone, I guess just because of the screen size. The gamblers move much faster, after tapped, on the phone, like everything else does. Could just be an old/new thing versus a difference in platforms.

Ahh Respectable Moe, one of the only things I don’t have

  9. IF YOU ARE A PREMIUM PLAYER READ THIS

There is a glitch with the golden scratch-rs. When I bought a golden scratch-r I scratched it (without closing the scratch-r) then closed the game and opened a different app and came back I got a second scratch-r FREE!

If you are a premium player get a few golden scratch-rs it will be worth it trust me.

    • I had this happen to me once, buying couldn’t reproduce it. Sadly only got 9 donuts each time but was still a nice double dip!

    • You got mine! I bought one yesterday, was charged, but never got the ticket. So far, EA hasn’t gotten back to me.

      • I purchased multiple but if what your saying is true that means a ton of people are going to be contacting ea…

  10. Does anyone know if the Casino Tokens carry over in each act? I just finished Act 1 and feel like I should be saving my tokens until Act 2 starts. Thanks!

    • I assume they will from what I see, however we never know 100% what EA will do each Act until it actually goes live and we can see it play out.

  11. I have a serious question to ask that concerns many of us now in the bonut round. Should I spend my tokens or save them for act 2? I’m on my way to my first round of bonuts, but I think I would like to save my tokens if they’re going to be used in the second and third acts.

Follow up questions: if we save tokens for act 2, will they carry over to act 2, or will the counter go back to zero? I would hate to save them all for act 2 only to lose them when the act starts.

    Thank you addicts.

    • I assume they will from what I see, however we never know 100% what EA will do each Act until it actually goes live and we can see it play out.

    • I’m planning on spending the tokens until I’m able to level up to level 2 of crafting (very close now, I think only 1 more slot, come on keychains). Then I will probably save them up for the next 3 or so days.

  12. So, in summary, “if you like it, get it”.

  13. For some strange reason I am now seeing an untappable game token hovering over Burns’s Casino when gamers are idle and can be assigned casino jobs. Anyone else?

    • It came with the update today. It means there are jobs available at the casino. When you send everyone back to work, it’ll go away.

  14. Thanks Kim,
I probably want it all ….
the best way to not spend d🍩nuts is to not have any!
I know that as soon as I get a truckload, I’ll spend most of them
    🍩 🍩 🍩 🍩 🙂

  15. I have finished act 1 prizes, does anyone know if it’s a good idea to bulk up on casino tokens for act 2 and 3. I am not able to play act 3 for many days due to a trip, so the tokens would be helpful to complete act 3 prizes

    • Up to you honestly. I see others storing some up too just for Act 2 jump starts. We never know 100% how it will play out til it all goes live, so we can only make assumptions of what is to come by the information currently available to us. 🙂

  16. Sorry I’ve been in my own lil world! Wanted to hop in here and thank Kim for helping out!
I’m sure Alissa appreciates it as much or more than we do.

  17. Slightly off topic (& apologies if it has been mentioned elsewhere and I have missed it) but has anyone else had any Springfield heights mansions reset back to level one. I only just noticed today as they are tucked away on my town outskirts. I moved them using the new cut and paste system a few days back to make room for my casino ghetto! I still have the real estate money and Paris Texan so I’m not too bothered (will make it easier to earn more real estate cash if they release more SH content! 😀) I just find those floating update icons a bit annoying!

    • You may have changed its facade accidentally? If you fully upgraded them, you can now changed its facade to different levels.

      • No it’s my mansions (all the moderns and one classic), they are back at level 1 when I tap on them and have the icon floating over them, weird but not a biggie.

  18. Also, I feel like i have to spend money on tokens so I can get more crafting currency.

  19. Since I have finished collecting Act prizes, I feel like the slot machine has been paying out more crafting currency.

    • Interesting because I feel the payouts of chips and crafting currency is way down!!!

    • Figures, right? 🃏

    • Way down for me as well. 37 tokens gave me about 3000 chips. Not many key chains nor coasters popping up. Those bonuts are getting to be hard to get.

Also hard at work at the Rail Yard for those 5 bonuts. But for the last day and a half, asking for metal cans almost all the time. Plastic and glass bottles not in high demand it seems….

      • I just got my 2nd round of bonuts since completing the prize track yesterday morning and was thinking chips were way up LOL Keychains and coasters do seem to have slowed down though, but that may just be because I want them so much and don’t have chip accumulation to distract me.

I also got 3 donuts from the Maggie game this morning and 2 from my friends.

    • Towards the end my slot machine was paying out more than usual but I am still struggling to even complete level 1. I bought all the stars and one fountain before I started focussing on levelling up but even then (of which the totals for those items would buy one bar) I’ve only managed to get 6 bars over this whole week.

I’m finished with Act 1 now so can mainly focus on the levelling but I’m kind of annoyed that I will have to waste my tokens to play the slots to get the levels when I could have been hoarding tokens for use in the next act as it’s been hinted at hoarding them.

      • Second ya on that one. Kind of a bummer I crafted all possible for the event days ago, and since I’ve just been levelling up with the chance to unlock next weeks crafting prizes, which will be unlocked by next week at this rate, so not unlocking them early, yay gave us a reason to tap more, if we want to craft anything next week lol Kinda prefer it the way it used to be, time is up, new stuff is unlocked, not here’s what you will someday be able to craft, but first you have to mindlessly tap to level yourself up in bars.

      • If you’re not gonna reach level 2 until after act 2 starts anyway, why not just save them and then use them all then? I’m sure they’ll still pay out crafting currency. Although I agree there is something psychologically comforting about actually seeing that bar gradually fill up.

  20. I might pick up a limo. I mean buy one, I’m not that strong. 😉 I’m sure I could find somewhere to put it, but I’ll hold off for now and see how many donuts I spend first. I already got Miss Springfield.

  21. Does anyone know what the update that I just got did? Fingers crossed it was EA increasing the payout of crafting currency…

    • Delivering your new building that will become available tomorrow
      🎲 🎲 🎲 🎲 🙂

    • A couple things I’ve noticed from the update: a token icon above the Burns Casino when there are jobs available and Sea Captain’s task at La Belle Frottage now has a name “Try to sail away”.

  22. I love cars in the game and wound up buying 2 of the limos. I placed one at the drive through of the krazy kraut and am trying to make the other look like it’s pulling up in front of the prep school 🙂

    • Don’t forget Burns needs a limo, so could add one for his Mansion or the Power Plant 😀

      • I was thinking about getting the Burns limo before the event, maybe I’ll get one of these instead. His mansion needs something!

      • I have Burns’ blue limo parked in his driveway, but may be tempted in the end to get another of these to park outside the casino or by the plant – will have to see what the donut and $$$ situation is 😉
