Should I Spend Donuts on the Northern Irish Leprechaun?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

So St. Easter hit our games recently…and really it’s just St. Patrick’s Day stuff, for now.  And with it arrived several new St. Patrick’s Day inspired premium items.

Now with the new content I know you may be trying to if any of it is worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it!  We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Northern Irish Leprechaun to your Springfield?  Well before you hit the confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this combo to your Springfield!

Pride_Of_Ulster_Banner N._Irish_Lepracaun

Decoration: Pride Of Ulster Banner
Character: Northern Irish Leprechaun
Donut Price: 80 donuts
Bonus %: .25% on all cash and XP
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +150

Leaves Stores on March 23rd

Pros:
-One of the few new items for this year’s St. Patrick’s Day
-Banner is small in size, so it can easily fit anywhere in Springfield
-Comes with a character.  When you tap the Leprechaun he’ll run away BUT first he’ll spit out extra cash!  And if you follow him as he’s running once he stops you can tap him again, and again and again!  Unlike the others he also has a bit of dialogue that comes up when you tap

Cons:
-Pricey!
-No tasks or questline associated with adding the Leprechaun to your town
-No Animation
-Leprechaun is hard to find in your town (so tiny!), so it’s hard to Tap (initially to earn the extra $)

Final Thought:
Premium
If you already have the Leprechaun and Yupprechaun, why not complete the Leprechaun trifecta and grab this one too!  It’s a fun little character, but there’s no practical reason to get it other than liking it.

Freemium
Normally I’d say pass…BUT if you really like the Leprechauns and want one, this is probably your best bet to get.  He’s the least expensive and does the same thing the others do as well…although the bonus % isn’t that great (or there’s no payout as with the Yupprechaun’s Shamrock Cafe).

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do…and I can tell you personally I’m on the fence with this one.  However, whatever you decide just make sure you do so before he leaves our games on March 23rd.

Here’s a look at a couple of the dialogue boxes that popup when you tap him…

  1. If you find him in someone else’s town, he also spits out money! 🙂

  2. i bought this one, and have yet to find him in my town. I got the dialogue , i see mt other leppys every day, havent seen this yella fella yet

  3. I’m sorry I think I found my answer looking a little bit harder. Thanks anyway. Also I got to say that I love this event right behind the super heroes event. I’m hoping that we can still play at the casinos, when it’s over.

  4. Hey guys I have a question for you, I’ve read a lot of your posts but couldn’t find any information on how much does the little guy give you when you tap on him and how often can you get the money from him? I’d like to have one if not all of the leprechauns just curious which. Thanks.

  5. I’ve been playing for about a year now as a semi-premium player. Seeing other towns with leprechauns and really wanted one I decided to go for it. I call him my buget leprechaun, I can’t justify spending over 100 dounuts on the others. It’s fun to find him and watch him run off!

  6. In ny game it says hes leaving in 9 days not the 23rd like the others?!!

  7. I would buy it if it poops out Donuts with each tap!

  8. I’m literally in love with this guy! And the banner!! Wee norn iron love! Have been showing all my friends my “pride of ulster” banners!

  9. Bought him 2 days ago and managed to tap him a few times. The dialogue boxes only come up the first few times you tap him, I think there’s 5 or 6 of them. Now I no longer get any dialogue, just the audio. I like him though, and I’m considering getting one of the other leprechauns, or even both of them. Are they voiced as well?

  10. I totally passed on him. Took one look at the price, then saw how tiny the multiplier was. It was dead easy to decide on NOT picking that one up. I truly felt like EA was insulting my intelligence. Seriously…80 donuts for just .25%!!! Donuts might be a little more available now, but I’m not dropping any on something so wimpy. (For the first time ever, I actually won 5 donuts on the ballon pop game in Krustyland. I had absolutely no idea that particular game even paid out donuts.)

  11. Got all 3 Leprechauns, patriotism and all that.

    A waste TBH.

  12. I bought him but he’s disappeared. storing the banner doesn’t store him as well like the yupprechaun and leprechaun.

    • I know in can’t stand that part of this NPC bc if you can’t find him, there’s no way to store him. Happened to me too. I think it’s bc you can purchase additional banners for 5 donuts, so he must not be associated with the banner itself. Either way I wish he was stored with it.

    • Try going into move mode, and hide buildings, he’s possibly behind one of them.

  13. I’m on the fence on all of the leprechaun’s. Currently I have very little for St. Patrick’s day and I don’t have any of the leprechauns. I’m really tempted to get at least one of them, but as a freemium player, I’m wondering if there is going to be Easter items available soon that I might want more. Is this update it, so far as Easter goes?

  14. Might wait till a few hours till they leave and see how many donuts I have then!

  15. Um not certain if the dialogue that pops up is permanent. He said a couple lines for me as well, then I sent Ned on a task, tapped the guy again, and he did spit out money and a soundbite and run away, but ho dialogue anymore. Hasn’t been doing it since I sent Ned on that quest. Almost like there’s a questline that was supposed to start but hasn’t maybe?

  16. I have been so tempted I still can’t decide. I have the Yuperchaun but passed on the wishing well leprechaun because didn’t really want to spend that much on a wishing well. I am tempted for this because his price isn’t really that bad compared to other NPC and it brings back to my childhood when I had to wear Orange on St. Paddy’s day because we were protestant and my Family originated from Northern Ireland. I think I will see how many bonuts I get between now and when it leaves and if I get enough I will buy him.

  17. I don’t need the extra gamecash ( nine digit number without leading zeros), so i’ll pass on all three the leprechauns.

  18. I would strongly advice against it. It literally does nothing in town, its exactly like the other, all it does is drop a tiny bit of exp and runs around for no reason. No tasks of any kind. The banner for Ulster is pretty cool though. A nice shout out to Northern Ireland.

  19. Tempted…

  20. I got him even though he’s somewhat overpriced IMO. I regretted not getting any of the St. Patrick’s stuff when it came up in 2015 so I picked up all the leprechauns and the castle this year .

  21. I’m holding off. I have a feeling next St. Patrick’s day there will be Gil standing there with a bundle for all 3 Leprechauns.

Definitely not. Do NOT purchase Northern Irish Leprechaun. Keep the Northern Free and Separate.
Time for a little black light, Black Sabbath and mind altering substances (if you can remember this stuff, you weren’t there)

The trouble is, my sense of humor is completely warped and obtuse.

What does EA think I’m an idiot. Well there l they’re right. I bought this thing but could have lived without it

  25. When you buy the NI leprechaun, this message comes up for him: “Go ndéana on diabhal dréimire de cnámh do dhroma ag piocadh úll i ngairdín Ifrinn.”

In Irish, that very roughly translates to “May the devil use your backbone as a ladder for picking apples in the garden of Hell.”

    So that’s a bonus.
