Hey, hey, hey, fellow Tappers!
Viva Las Springfield! The Casino Event has arrived in Springfield…and it’s full of Vegas inspired decorations, buildings and games!
This Event is broken up into 3 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story. To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act. Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event. For the Third Act you’re tasked with collecting Blue Chips (
) to unlock each prize!
The fourth Act 3 prize awarded at 70,900 (or +15,750 from Reclusive Mr. Burns) is the Chinese Acrobatic Theater, where the show ain’t over ‘til the thin man in drag shrieks.
So let’s take a closer look at this fourth prize and just what happens when you unlock it in your Springfield…
Once you’ve collected 70,900 (or +15,750 from Reclusive Mr. Burns), you’ll automatically be awarded the Chinese Acrobatic Theater and you’ll see this message popup:
And you’ll have the option to place it in your Springfield immediately or store it in your inventory for later. Remember, if you store it, you’ll have to go into your inventory to place it in Springfield later…
REALLY IMPORTANT: Chinese Acrobat Theater awards 240
. However, you MUST place it in your Springfield in order to get credit for 240. If you store it in your inventory immediately and don’t place in Springfield you won’t get credit for the Club Cards. You’ll get credit once you place it. So don’t think just because you stored it you’ll never get the Club Card Points. Just place it in Springfield and the points will be awarded to you.
Once placed in Springfield the casino has some dialogue that pops up:
Mayor Quimby: Finally, entertainment I can get into. “Exotic contortionism.” Exactly how I defend my decisions as a mayor.

I found this very difficult to place. It didn’t fit into my strip, so I dragged it all over town looking for a good spot. It ended up next to the businessman’s social club and I think it looks okay there, although it’s a smidge taller than I would like. (My bf asked me if that meant my acrobatic theater was a front for the Chinese mafia. That wasn’t my initial intent, but I said “sure, why not.”)

Maybe too much gangster and mafia movies depict the Chinese restaurant as a front for criminal activities back end.
So an update from the crazy tapper who had 5 days to get all the prizes. I’ve got 3 days and 12ish hours (give or take a few hours) left and I’m about to head to bed.
I’m 10,000 chips from Prize #3. I’ve finally managed to upgrade all my crafting levels and have gotten both signs and most of the smaller items. I’m contemplating saving for the Safari Casino (as I have no decorative need for the Spruce Moose) but am trying to mine Casino Card Points so am trying to clear all of the points for the smaller items.
Hopefully I get Mr Burns tomorrow so I have 2 days to hopefully get the Chinese theatre- it’s looking pretty confirmed that Gabbo is out of reach.

Updated info on the storing of crafting items to get more Club Cards – this trick will only work if you are at Level 3 for crafting. I just tried my store and craft trick with my other lower level game which is only at Level 2 for crafting and the trick didn’t work.
Just noticed that if you store some of the items that you crafted, you can get more of the Club Cards when you craft more of the items you want. I stored some of my fountains and spotlights and now it shows I can earn more Club Cards, which is does when crafted and placed. This will only work with those items you can craft muliple times. Items that you are allowed only one of do not give you the option of crafting again if stored.
My friend has a second option to spend their coins on the slots (5x win for 5 tokens), we’re both at the same stage in the game (completed everything) yet its not showing up on mine. Any thoughts as to why?
Also in relation to this section, I like the theatre, good looking building and will fit nice into my mini vegas/reno areas where I place it.

Probably because it’s not a casino, it’s a place where people perform. Or that’s how I took it. Positive about it being an ‘acrobatic theater’ is you can put it elsewhere and have it not so out of place.

For me, this is one of the more unique building with Chinese architecture. And also the only one with Chinese characters. I like it.
I’ve been looking at it lot lately. I really do like it but it doesn’t fit in. I have the Buddhist temple but something doesn’t feel right about mixing the two. I would like to have my own Korean area, Chinese, Japanese, Thai areas. Maybe I’m being too specific. If you look at my town very closely there are lots of hidden political messages hidden. My close friends get them right away, I often wonder if anyone else does. That’s my issue with the idea of a Zen Buddhist temple next to an acrobat theater which reminds me of the controlled lives children are sometimes forced into at a young age.
Wow. So much planning. I understand where you coming from. Buddhist temple is supposed to be a place of serenity. But it can also be very vibrant. It depends on the type of the temples. Those that conduct serious Buddhism study tends to be serene. Then there are those that are more for the common people where they just want to pray with joss sticks and asked for prayers to be answered. I do agree that it seemed a bit difficult to fit in. I wish there could be more Chinatown buildings.

You know, it’s funny. When I wrote the post about them, I intentionally left out the fact that I found Gabbo creepy, because I didn’t want to offend or confuse people. I even had something typed up about him being creepy, but deleted it. But now I sort of think I should’ve left it in… 😉

The four large Chinese characters say Chao Yang Theater. Beijing has a Chao Yang district, and there is an acrobatic theater within it (on the East Third Ring Road). Here’s their website:
