Now that it is April, the first full month of Spring, I thought I should stop and smell the roses (which was stupid because they aren’t in bloom here yet). Since April also contains Earth Day (and without trashing Earth Day), I thought I’d celebrate it with one of it’s greatest gifts “Rain”. Yes, Rain, after all April showers brings May flowers. So join me in a little rain dance (unless you’re in the UK or someplace that rains all the time, for you folks just read along anyway) :p even if you Hate Rain or may feel under the weather.
With the mini-(firefighter) event behind us/nearing it’s end, I can get Alissa to post this (which I’ve written the day prior to the start of the mini-event, during all our speculations about a desert update). So here it goes –>
What started as an attempt to discuss all weather patterns, with the giant “L”s and “H”s just ended up trickling into a single drop of rain. I’m not going to talk about flooding or whatever horrible (displacing and life ruining) natural disasters that are probably taking place somewhere on this giant marble of a planet. Just keeping things simple and Simpsons (without the stuff I just mentioned). Here is a brief look at Winter and Summer heat…
A couple of my neighbors know that I use the Best Snowman Ever facades as a way to share what my weather is like on my end. Smallest form (means it’s warm), Full B.S.E. form means it’s very very cold or snowing but the carrot nose dangling means it is Rainy (fun fact… when I remember to change it). Anyway, the snow is gone from Springfield for now, so lets Make it Rain. Songs and kid poems, come to my head (as rain drops keep falling on it). I was thinking back at the good old days when I can jump in a big muddy puddle and not having to say “oh man, I got to go to work like this because I have nothing to chance into” and thus the Springfielders also enjoy and dislike the rain.
I’m not sure if this is event worthy but I thought of some requested characters that may fit in with such a dreary Theme. So here comes the Lightning Round.

And for People whom never got Sherry Bobbins, they could get another chance, after all she has her own Umbrella-ella-ella-ella (another song stuck in my head, sorry)

Like most awkward conversation starters “what’s the weather like where you are?” Is it raining where you are? Anything Special you like to do on rainy days? Do you use your “Best Snowman Ever” to tell your neighbor how you weather is? Do you have a favorite rain themed song or poem? Did this talk of rain make you sleepy or have you running to the restroom? Any of these one hit wonder characters you’d like? It’s ok to get a little wet and wild, sound off in the comments with your thoughts. Just don’t be too wild… Or to wet… Leave a comment, we’ll put some towels down 🙂

Hmmm…maybe we’ll have our first TSTO Addicts marriage? I figure that some folks here have spent more time talking together about stuff (and sometimes stuff of more substance) than they do on The Bachelor! 😉 😉

Thanks for a great post, Totbox. 🙂 I will definitely keep an eye out for your snowman! We are full on into spring here in sunny Alabama. I just need more flowering trees in my Springfield to show it. I love all the seasons in Springfield!

That doesn’t look anything like James Earl Jones… show that drawing to a hundred people and ask whether it looks more like JEJ or HK and I’ll bet 90 say Kissinger. Of course I probably should’ve been able to figure it out by context (even though I didn’t know he voiced Mustafa and am pretty sure he didn’t voice Bleeding Gums)… Also, I probably should’ve remembered the episode, so, yeah, fair point.
Great post neighboreeno! It’s always nice to hear a fresh or different perspective. Now I’ll be checking out your snowman for the weather report. Where are you from? It’s raining today in my neck of the woods in CA. Of course, was hoping to do some gardening today, but a good excuse to stay indoors.
How about for next year a one day pi day event? The addicts have their contest every year. Krusty could throw pies. We could “pie” our neighbors. Homer could eat pies. It could rain pies. Are there any pie related episodes? Who doesn’t like pie? Yum!
Lol, I did a quick search, and of course there is Pie Man (Homer skin) we got for the Superhero event, there really isn’t much else to work with other than Marge having Pies that peeked the interest of the Southern Gentelman that Homer glove-slapped in the Tomacco episode. 🙂

Why distract me with the ribwich guy, ……..now I want a Krusty burger event, with fries 🍟 for currency, they could re-launch the Laffy meal…..with better prizes, we could collect ingredients, then make orders, send characters to Krustyburger for different orders, visit neighbours and instead of a handshake, they would get cheese slices or pickles or onion rings. Shoot beanbags at Jesse when he’s protesting on the roof.

Interesting concept, but it needs a little meat (characters, buildings), so figured The Krusty Burglar (little Hungarian actor), Kentucky Fried Panda (and other fast food pun restaurants), but two other things crossed my mind… Krusty Sponsored the Olympics (could tie it with an Olympic event) but the Rib-wich seemed to have some Hippie-like followers maybe Seth and Munchy help Krusty, offering Special Burgers with Special sauce and get more people get the munchies from those burgers and Homer calls them sellouts as he Freaks out some squares with his Jester Hat and Poncho. 🙂

I watched on news that US central West is having drought problem and grasslands and farms are catching fire. I thought it was not long ago that many were commenting about very thick snow. Quite amazing weather changes.
Billy Connolly once said (and I paraphrase here): “There’s no such thing as bad weather; just the wrong clothes.”
1) As always, I will happily go along with any of Totbox’s ideas
2) It is not always raining here
3) seeing the rib-wich guy makes me think of a Krusty burger/fast food/limited availability type event. In the episode, didn’t Homer travel around to visit different Krustyburger stores where the rib-wich was available for a limited time? we all like food right? and it would give the developers the opportunity to make fun of McDonald’s and Burger King

I would love a weather event great idea Totbox! Maybe with tasks like “prepare for the hurricane (at Moe’s) or “stock up on beer for the hurricane” “have a hurricane party” new skins for the party, just please make homers free since I’ve got like 15. “Make homer try to walk in 100mph wind” maybe to get more beer? Or because he thinks he can? “Go tornado chasing” “Fix hurricane damage” we could have a premium purchase of a tornado that constantly blows around Springfield. Maybe we could have a task “make springfielders enjoy the eye of the hurricane.” I live in Lousiana so I know a lot about hurricanes. They could give us a free “build the weather shelter” task and some weather proof skins for houses. Throw in some hail. Maybe even a discount on duff brewery for all the alcohol to be consumed (by the barflies) and for those who have duff already a new outfit for him which comes with a super awesome decoration. My minds racing. But, contrary to what you’d think, I love bad weather. I just can’t stand the devastation that follows Hurricanes, luckily it’s been a while since a bad one hit us, Isaac 2012 was the last one I remember being rough, I remember it was my “sons first hurricane” and he got to watch the wind. The first one for me was Andrew I think 1992. Gotta love Louisiana. Luckily it’s just a silly little game and that devastation could be fixed in an 8 hour task. I’m all for it. There could be mini tornadoes around town we tap on to get currency. Currency could be in the form of beer. I’m done now cause I could go all day long with this, it would be my favorite event for sure.

Haha Yes I did mix them, only bc I chose a hurricane themed event to fantasize about. Well first you have to know I’ve been in so many hurricanes I’ve lost count. So I based it off my experience mixed with some TSTO humor. Some people in Louisiana drink during hurricanes after hoarding food water and finding someone’s house to go to that’s bigger, better, & has a generator. For me that’s my dads house. For my dad that’s his own house. Power is down for who knows how long after. It’s hot. Its obviously horrible after. So drinking is what some do while the winds roar, then we start fixing everything in our power to fix. I just thought homer & the barflies could have an over the top “hurricane party” and that could be part of a fun theme. I had to mix weather with something other than weather right? 😉 Why not duff, “the beer that makes the days fly by”
Marge: “Homie where’s all the food & water you were supposed to buy?”
Home: *holding a beer, Panics as he glances at the other 20 cases of beer he bought….. a cow flies by the view of the window

I had a very short-lived glitch the other day where it looked like it was raining in my Springfield. No pic, but it sure was awesome. 🙂
I would love to see a dark and stormy night with lots of creepy noises that get Homer freaking out and running for his life.

You were right it is Mrs. (Stephanie) Brockman ; I apologize for the correction before; I thought she was simply the weather girl, I personally failed knowing her marriage status with Kent upon the time of responding those many years ago (2016) wow, time flies when tapping I guess
Great warning at the end. I did get too wet with one of my comments. Warning heeded. The right amount of wetness is like when the drops of rain fall off of a stand of hair onto the ground. Not too wet, but wet enough to identify as wet.
Rain might be cool in the game. Easy to do just like other weather but maybe require an app store update?
I’d prefer we get nighttime first, so we can enjoy the vegas strip animations better…

Nope, nothin, I’m enclined to think the benches count for a point or two on one of the stats (not income percentage) but otherwise nadda, just a space taker-upper aside from I think Homer still has a task he can do at the main stadium box.

I actually really like my casino area…while I dearly wish we could still play the games (even if it was only for cash, like the racetrack), I’m very happy with the design elements it brought to my town. I’m still on the fence about whether to keep Cletus’ dice shack and Woodstock, though.
Yes, that Woodstock doesn’t seem to fit in with anything else in the game, also I think it looks a bit silly as it’s supposed to be a casino but it’s a field, haven’t stored it just yet, but the other building you mention, Springfield Downs has always been in storage in my town unless needed for a task, for two reasons…..doesn’t pay rent and tempts one to gamble

It’s funny…in all this time, I’ve only gambled at Springfield Downs maybe three or four times, and one of those was to complete a daily task. I like the building….it has a different look. I’m not as fussed about something not earning money…I kept my tap ball stadium, too, just because I liked it.
You might prefer it, but if that’s a switchable night then that might mean my last day of playing since that will take up a lot of space (that I don’t have). If it’s just an app store update, like the snow, that’s fine.
Yeah, I’m just not a fan of the snow or anything falling, since it seems to be a resource hog, takes up RAM or something idk.

Was just thinking (yeah I know, doesn’t happen very often lol), but the whole “nighttime” idea, could be time specific, so if its officially nighttime in your area, then its nighttime in Springfield. So primarily during most people’s tap time it would be considered daytime anyway.
That is the best implementation of the idea, with “night” being a solid 12h block, regardless of season. But that’s the same idea that bloats the game to double in size as each building and decoration would need a night version. Unless they figure out how to set some kind of filter….or even to program the images to begin with, allowing all kinds of manipulation.
Not necessarily, could just darken the sky, roads, grass and the buildings with a Neon sign (Casino), and leave the neon sign lights normal color.
Can’t the people who want night time mode just turn down the screen brightness on their device, until they can just about see what they’re tapping, 😃

Always a good read, and definitely would like a weather themed event, my only problem however, I find whenever they make the rain/leaves/snow whatever falls from the sky, it lags my TSTO even more than usual since there’s more graphics running at once. So if it is weather themed, keep my TSTO sunny please 😀

We got six inches in my Massachusetts town, and it was pretty much gone within two days. Even with the April snow, this has been hands down the Best. Winter. Ever. I only wish they’d all be like this one from now on.

I would love to have Karl! He is one of the characters that I thought I would have seen already. That or Amber Dempsey.
Weather would be a great update! Also if you could control your towns weather by the weather station (eg. Make it rain, or snow and change the seasons as you see fit (since not everyone lives in the northern hemisphere or experience the warm weather as soon)).

This is probably THE one day a year it won’t rain , lol .There are people in the village wailing and moaning because of the big yellow hot glowy thing that has appeared in the sky and they are threatening to sacrifice something to ward off the portent of impending doom 🙂

When I took my one and only trip to Europe, I spent a little over a week of it in England and Wales. Miraculously, we had lovely sunny weather the whole (our almost the whole) time! The locals kept commenting on how lucky we were.

I like being under water (scuba diving swimming, etc) and looking at the surface from below. Have not been diving in years, and even then didnt head out if weather looked bad, but it is a special treat when it happens.
