Should I Spend Donuts On Moe’s House?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Gil’s back in Springfield!  This time he’s peddling premium items with a rebate.  Some old and some are new, but all are offered at a discount!  So bust open those piggy banks because Gil’s tempting us all with this deal.

Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Moe’s House to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding things barkeep’s hideaway to your town.

moeshouselarge

Building: Moe’s House
Donut Cost:
110 Donuts, with a 40 Donut Rebate.  So net cost 70 Donuts
Earns:
$135, 15xp/4hrs
Size:
8×5
Conform-O-Meter Impact:
Indolence +10

Leaves stores on Sunday April 17th, at 0800 GMT.

Pros
-A house for Moe.  Even the lonely ol’ barkeep needs a place to rest his head (you know one that’s not covered with bar rats 😉 )
-Fun animation when in use, a geyser spurts in the front yard
-Moe has a permanent 16hr task there, pays $750, 200xp
-Short 1 part questline associated with it

Cons
-At 70 donuts, it’s still a little pricey for a house with only a 1 part questline

Final Thought:
Premium:
Buy it.  It’s still a little high priced, but even poor Moe needs a home.  So if you’re a premium player, buy it.  At least that’s my two cents 😉

Freemium:
While it’s still a little high priced, even with the rebate, I do think it’s a fun buy.  It’s probably one of the better items you can get with this event, especially because it’s one of 3 new items you can get.  So freemium players, I would give this one a second look and think about it before time runs down.

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do.  And I can tell you I grabbed this one.  Like I said, even Moe needs a home. 🙂  Whatever you decide just make sure you do it before the house leaves our games on April 17th…or you might miss out on this one.

Here a look at the questline that comes with the house:

Black Moe’ld!
Moe starts

Moe: What’s this my house is sitting on?  It looks like an ancient burial site.  That’s probably why I’ve had such bad luck with the ladies!  Plus my face and personality.  Stupid cursed graves!  Time to bring in ghosts’ natural predator: TNT!
Make Moe Dig Out a Basement- 8hrs, Earns $420, 105xp
KABOOM!
Moe: Whoa! I’ve struck gold!  Liquid brown, lumpy gold!  I’m filthy rich!
Rich Texan: No, just filthy.  That ain’t oil, son — you hit a sewage line.
Moe: I know.  And now I can make jenkem!
Otto: Alright!  I’ve been hankem for some jenkem!

And there you have it, the details on Moe’s House!

What are your thoughts on Moe’s House?  Will you be picking it up?  Or did you already?  Where have you placed it in your town?  Thoughts on Gil’s rebate deal?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. I just noticed something. Does anyone else have Moe’s house in the men’s box? It says above it is suppose to be in the building box. Same price, just curious. 🙂

  2. I bought it, but the 16hr task is still locked. Is there something else other than the 8jr quest I have to do to unlock it?

  3. Whoops. With a day of reflection, I’m remorseful that I inflicted my own personal revulsion idiosyncrasies on my fellow blog commenters and Neighbor-eeno’s who got Moe’s house. Never would I want to detract from your enjoyment and I wish I’d kept my opinions to myself. Each to their own. Love and sprinkles to all.🍩💕🍩

  4. I just can’t decide on this one. In my head Moe lives at the bar, but I like the idea of a new house, but it’s kinda boring, but I’d put it neat Nelson’s house with my run down stuff, but it’s kids pricey… I actually kinda like the yard fountain, but I just think mud. Also not sure if use the 16 hour task so I may never see it in my town.
I’ll probably pass and regret it later.

  5. I know it is unimportant to most people, but I always like to know what sound comes from buildings… (Tapped on a neighbors) it creaks. I found it very unpleasant (the creaking), I’m going to pass (I was already leaning that way anyway).

  6. Was a no brainer for me, I definitely got it. When it comes to “buildings” I usually get it. Except for that ugly Cathedral they added. Any new buildings are usually pretty good keepers. Especially Moe’s house. But other than that, the cleaning items aren’t even cleaning items at all. I am saving my donuts for the Desert update….which is taking forever to show up.

    • I keep seeing people expecting the desert update to hit any day now. EA has hinted at many events that have taken years to come true. Some are still awaiting the sequel the Superheroes event that was teased. For me it’s the sunblocker/nighttime event. You never really know. It may be next week, it may be 2018

      • I’m in no hurry…a desert theme doesn’t appeal to me at all. Not sure why so many people are so excited by that prospect, to be honest.

        • I get the feeling EA drops these hints to what the reaction is then they start development. So maybe we’ll see it summer of 17. I agree something is about to drop but it’ll be something completely different.

  7. I bought it because even Moe needs a house 😁

  8. They should put lennys house.. Don’t tell anyone how I live…

    • I want every house from that episode. (One of my favorite episodes – Red Blazer Lionel Hutz) Great quotes and revelations (first time we learn Moe’s last name / along with where he lives, first time we met Gil and Cookie). The “Murder” House with Ned shrieking about the drapes… Lil’Bandit… Great episode. 🙂

  9. Instant buy for me. The quest was just a cherry on top. Never thought I would see jenkem mentioned in this game. If you don’t know what that is, Google it. You’re in for a treat. Just not at work. Your bosses probably won’t fire you, but they’ll definitely look at you kinda funny.

  10. I’m trying to decide between the nature bundle or Moe’s house…decisions, decisions!

  11. sorry, I see it now

  12. does moe’s house improve indolence? I could use a boost there

Moe’s house. At least he doesn’t have a far walk to the bar. 🙂

I’m definitely picking this one up. I agree Moe needs a home, plus it’s another unique house for town, which we don’t have enough of. I agree with Sandra that we need a few more freemium houses, and maybe some more character houses we’ve seen in the show (like Martin’s house or Lurleen’s trailer).

As far as his task is concerned, I’d find it more useful if the Unemployment Office would allow us to send characters on all times they have in tasks lists (10 and 30 min, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 10, and 16 hrs all come to mind). Sometimes I’d prefer to send as many characters as possible on a 10 or 16 hr task, and the rest on 8 or 12 hr tasks to maximize payout while I’m away from my game, but I have about 160 characters now and can’t remember who all has those odd lengthed tasks, and don’t really relish the thought of tapping through that many characters to find them all. I guess I’ve gotten lazy. 😉

    • I agree with you on the task options. It would be nice to send all characters with odd task times at once and that way their numbers would show up as well. I hate having to figure out if I got them all tapped out (when needed)when I have others doing oddball timed tasks.

  15. I’d love to get that house, but the price is too steep, even with the discount, for something that does nothing and doesn’t really stand out.

  16. It took a lot of rearranging but I finally made room on the border of my factory district and trash area, just where I wanted it.

  17. If I was feeling rich, I would have got it, but Moe doesn’t really need a house as he lives at the gym, making yoga mats, or sometimes at the glass recycling plant ♻
    😃

    • I was on the fence until I saw Roisinfarrel’s screenshot of what must be the animation of Moe hitting the sewer line. It hits way too close to my gag reflex for me. PASS.

  18. I always thought Moe lived in that little room to the side of the bar – the one with the ratty old cot and the hanging noose at the ready. I think they’ve made this right up, although I believe it will show up in an upcoming episode.

  19. Jungle cruise is shut down today? For how long?

  20. I do need some new houses for my towns, but 70 donuts is a bit high. Will have to give this a pass.

  21. I noticed when looking through Amir’s tasks he now has a task to “do a slanderous documentary on Lurleen” but it’s locked with the requires quest verbiage. Any thoughts on this one?

  22. More may need a home, but if he only uses it for a 16-hour task, I’m afraid he’ll never get to be there. (I can’t figure out in what scenario I’d use a 16-hour task.) I’ll probably pass, although I will feel a little sorry for Moe when I do. (Eh – he can live in one of the brown houses – got plenty of those right near where he works, so it would be a shorter commute for him anyway. 😉 )

I do wish they’d offer a new style of freemium house, though, so I could have a bit more diversity in my town…but spending 70 donuts for what would be in my town just a decoration, seems a bit steep.

    • Well said. I am still hemming and hawing on this one.

    • I am actually debating as I find 16 hour tasks quite useful. Like if I’m going out for the night (I get dates 🙁 ) and don’t expect I’ll be checking in on the game for a while, but don’t want to be locked into a full 24 hours.

    • Yeah….I’m with you on the “when am I ever going to do something for 16 hrs” thing… I’ve always thought that was a weird utterly useless length of time.

    • I can’t imagine you’d even want that animation in your town, I get ill just thinking about it, but I’ve got a weak stomach that way

  23. Good morning, I bought it last night, was gone most of yesterday, but soon as I saw it I picked it up. Before I read this post, unusual for me, I bought it cuz Moe needs a home too, only reason I bought it. I moved some things around and put it right next to tavern, that way he can just walk or crawl home.
Also have most other offerings and it wasn’t outrageously expensive.

  24. Hmmmm! Will pass on this one, I am a freemium player and tend to get tempted for characters when I have accumulated enough doughnuts. I would love the whale but even when it was on the rebate it was still too expensive for me. I wish I could have all the premium stuff, but I just can’t afford it. 😱☺️🤑

  25. What’s Jenkem?

  26. Hey Alissa I know that this is a short little Gil Deal, but are you going to have a Spring Cleaning Showoff or Caption This is because I’m not neighbors with everyone and I would love to see what everyone does with the new Flora in our games! (I know this seems like a unreasonable request since you can still submit images for the Firestation!)

  27. What I hate most about the rebate thing is that I can’t look how the building looks when placed. Usually with premium buildings I look where it could fit and then buy it if it’s a good size etc…
But with the rebate thing you have to buy it in order to look at it

    • I usually use my neighbors for that…if you have a lot of neighbors, chances are at least one of them will have almost any item you’re curious about seeing (although, granted, it’s not exactly the same as getting to see it in exactly the spot you’re considering it for in your own town). If you don’t have a lot of neighbors, here’s yet another reason to get them! 🙂

  28. I’m definitely getting this. It’s rare we get a new house that isn’t some mansion. It’ll fit in nicely in my “rural” section with Cletus’ and Nelson’s houses.

  29. I bought it, I agree with what Alissa said, ‘Moe needs a home too’ I like it, and I placed the green beer mug fountain out the front. ( feel free to copy/steal my idea) 🙂 so… Now I guess Moe owes me a free drink for buying him his house 😉
