Where Did THAT Come From: Street Cleaner

In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. That is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where did THAT Come From?

So I know Bunny and Wookiee usually handle the WDTCF posts, but with Wookiee working on finals and some other stuff..and Bunny busy with work and her family, I thought I’d try my hand at a couple of these…any excuse to re-watch old Simpsons episodes 😉

This post I will be going over the Origin of the Street Cleaner Why is it in our games? What does it have to do with Springfield? Let’s dive into the Simpsons TV Series to find out more.

Bart Sells His Soul: Season 7, Episode 4

Probably one of the more memorable episodes of The Simpsons, in this one Bart believes that no one really has a soul, and it’s just useless mumbo jumbo that Rev Lovejoy says to scare people.  So to prove his point he sells his soul to Milhouse, for $5.

Of course Bart soon realizes that his soul is a pretty important part of him, and decides he has to get it back from Milhouse.  While there’s a lot more to this story, we’ll kind of speed up until we reach the part with the Street Cleaner.

Bart’s on his way to Milhouse’s Grandma’s house, where Milhouse’s family is staying while their home is being treated for Potato Bugs, to get his soul back.  He’s looking at a map trying to figure out how to get to 257th street and he comes face to face with…the street cleaner.

Narrowly getting out of the way, Bart manages to escape harm.  Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for his bike…

As the cleaner runs right over his bike…and the driver rides away with an evil grin, almost Willie like.

There you have it, another little blip in the Simpsons that’s made it’s way into our games!  While I think it’s awesome that the Street Cleaner drives around the streets of Springfield, I think it’d be even better if it ran over Bart’s bike….but that’s just me.

Incidently this is also the episode where Uncle Moe’s Family Feedbag appears.  Am I the only one that would love an Uncle Moe’s skin for TSTO?

Did you remember this episode?  Remember how Bart eventually gets his soul back?  Do you remember what Milhouse exchanges Bart’s soul for?  Did you purchase the Street Cleaner in your town?  Why or why not?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. I’ve been asking for an Uncle Moe’s event for a long time.

Couple of things: The street cleaner crashes into what looks for all the world like a subway station entrance. I guess the Monorail wasn’t enough!

Also, this episode is one where you can’t really stop and think for a moment, else you realize how incredibly negligent Homer and Marge are for letting Bart run screaming out of the restaurant, and letting him roam the streets of Springfield ALL FRIGGIN NIGHT without so much as a panicked search.

  2. Wish it had animations or something cool about it… Not much to it…at least i got aome donuts back!!!

  3. Okay now every man in town has the 6s. Quest

  4. “Lord, have mercy on my SOUL, and mom’s SOUL, and dad’s SOUL, and Maggie’s SOUL..”

    You are in luck, Alissa.
This is an artist’s impression of how the feedbag skin might look if it came to our games, I think the image was saved from the trash by the garbage man at some artist’s office, who took it home and ironed out the crumpled paper, then he sold it to a collector in Europe,
it has been in my local gallery since last year
    😃

    • Now all it needs is an Uncle Moe costume, complete with a task that puts a basket of fries on his head

  6. Alf Pogs! Remember Alf! He’s back! In Pog Form!
I actually collected Pogs, but never played. Never had any Alf ones though. I think they’re all gone now. My son would probably love them.
