Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add Frink’s Mechano Spider to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this Wild Wild West Spider to your town.

-Pretty pointless to add unless you have Frink
For those asking, it does not move around your town. It is stationary, even when Frink is using it. It’s animated, but does not move around the town.
Final Thought:
Premium or Freemium:
Honestly, I’m not a fan of this one. While it comes with a questline, has a decent bonus & a fun animation for Frink…in my opinion it’s just not worth it. 130 donuts is too much to pay for a hunk of metal in your Springfield, freemium or premium. I’d avoid this one..Of course I know there are premium players out there (*cough cough* Ryan *cough cough* ;)) who will say this is awesome…and that’s ok. But honestly, my opinion is to save your donuts for something better and completely pass on this one.
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do. And I can tell you I’m completely passing on this one. Just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games on May 3rd.

I didn’t get this when it was first available, but now that it’s a Black Friday deal, I’ve written myself a note to make sure I hit Springfield when it’s available. It’s just too cool for me to pass up again!
It’s my favorite thing from this event so far. I wish the animation was a bit more interesting. No regrets though. I am big fan of Frink and his contraptions, so I didn’t I got it before this post was put up on this site.
Bought it, regretted it, got over it, accepted it. Haven’t found the right place for it yet.

So, without Frink does it not animate at all!? Like, even from a tap.
Not really. On tap smoke comes out of it, but it doesn’t move.

Bought it immediately, as I had carved out a huge swath of land in my Heights area for a desert area and was eager to populate it. It is pretty lame, but it does fill out the area nicely.
After reading majority of the comments about this (even before this blog) I’m glad I passed on this.
FWIW, and I see reflected in the comments here, too, in the comments section of recent posts, I’ve seen a lot of people expressing buyer’s remorse on this one. So I would suggest not buying it, unless it really, really appeals to you as essentially a decoration.
For me, there was never any question if getting out, even before I started seeing those comments…WAY to pricey for what it is (plus, I don’t have Frink yet).
HHy, I resemble that remark. And it is awesome. I have it being chased by Truckasaurus and nothing you say can take away from my enjoyment of Frink at the controls trying to get away from my firebreathing metal Dinosaur.

I really should know that.i have no clue which of my characters are premium or not. All I know is I never have to worry about game play.

I wasn’t really even tempted by this one, especially once I saw it in a neighbor’s town. Was not hard to pass up. Still considering the Wilted Rose, though.

Very easy no for me. I don’t have Frink anyway, and I only saw snippets of Wild Wild West and couldn’t see why anybody would watch something so ridiculously stupid – the mechano spider being one of the stupidest aspects of an incredibly stupid film. So yeah…..no. 🙂
The film was crazy steam punk….but the spider was still pretty cool looking. I guess, if they had a better script and casting then it might have worked.
Yeah, I got the idea. It was just still too stupid for me. And I’m not really that picky about what movies I find entertaining.
I haven’t seen it in a while but I remember it losing me. I just think the creations are nice if not connected to the movie.

Eh, this was a big fat “no” for me.
I’ve seen a player with Frink controlling the spider and a Frink playing with the UFO. So this person has 2 Frinks in his/her town. Is this a cheat, a glitch, or is it what makes spending $10 on this thing worth it?
I’m going to give the benefit of the doubt and say it’s a glitch….
In the past I used to frequently see 2 Homers in neighbor’s towns. I haven’t lately, but I haven’t been looking, either. 🙂

I saw the same thing.
No he’s got online one Frink. If I visit my A-Springfield from my B- Springfield, I see Two Frinks when I sent my Frink to contril the Mechano Spider. It is however very weird.
Probably a view only neighbors get. The game must not recognize Frink with the spider as an animation (does anyone?) and therefore kicks him out to have a “real” animation. So, the spider animation is akin to a house animation.
I have a little buyers remorse on this one. I debated for days and then on an impulse picked it up. It’s huge and takes up a ton of space. It’s got a cute little animation but I also thought it would move around a little, not nessarly walk around town, but more than just bounce up and down a little.
My advise would be pass. I kinda wish I did. Now I will have to buy more sprinkles for any characters that pop up in Act 2 & 3.

I was on a brink too, but waited for first suck…buyers and their impressions. When they said it doesn’t move even in a little circle it was one big fat NOPE.
I bought it right away and I regret it. It’s pretty lame for the donuts spent. 🙁
Too much and I don’t have Frink. Nice bonus though. I’m going to pass.

Yeah I’m going to pass. Too bad this doesn’t move around town. I was really excited when this showed up. I’ve seen it in a friends town. It just sort of walks or moves in place. Really disappointing.

I bought it, and even tho I am a premium player, I still think I wasted my donuts on it 😕 It definitely does not look as good as I had thought. I think the quick sand or film set are both much better options (they both look nice in the desert) the quick sand is animated when you tap it. And buck Mcckoy has interactive tasks at the film set.
I love the quick sand. The wilted rose is also better than the spider. Great animations and less donuts. 🙂

I haven’t bought the Wilted Rose, I think I’ll wait to see if any other items become available (so I don’t waste anymore sprinkles)
I really thought the Spider would walk around the town (now I feel silly for thinking that) 😛
I’m a little disappointed in the Mechano Spider tbh. The animation is just lazy and I think they missed a perfect opportunity to have a visual task of Snake assaulting the spider.
That being said, I still love the look of it and I don’t regret buying it.
