Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
The Wild West is alive and well in our Springfields! As the Wild West Event has hit our games and it’s full of old west inspired decorations, buildings & characters!
This Event is broken up into 3 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story. To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act. Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event. For the First Act you’re tasked with collecting Clues (
) to unlock each prize!
The very fifth Act 1 prize is awarded at 7490 is Cowboy Homer, because the Cowboy hat helps Homer Cover up the Baldness!
So let’s take a closer look at this fifth prize and just what happens when you unlock him in your Springfield…
Once you’ve collected 7490you’ll automatically be awarded Cowboy Homer and you’ll see this message popup:
Cowboy Homer will automatically enter into your Springfield. You won’t have an option to store him
Once he arrives in Springfield you’ll see his character unlock message:
And he’s part of the Old West Simpsons Character Collection:
Cowboy Homer comes with his own questline, and it’ll start right up for you. However, I DO NOT recommend completing it immediately. You should continue to use Homer at the Town Plaza to grind for Event Currency. The questline will still be there…so ignore it for now and continue to use Homer get you event currency.

What’s Next?
Well there is 1 prize after Cowboy Homer, 800 Pickaxes. I’m not going to do separate posts about them as it’s pretty basic. Once you unlock it, more pickaxes will be added to your pickaxe total.
Here’s a quick breakdown…
Awarded at 11,360. This will add 800 Pickaxes to your total Pickaxe count (found in the Event Hub). This is not a tangible item for Springfield, it’s just 800 Pickaxes added to your total on hand.
Next Tangible Prize for Springfield…
Bank and Top Chop Barber Shop- Awarded at 15,860. This will be the next prize we cover in a rundown post.

Cowboy Homer has some of the funniest actions during his Tasks and Dialog when Tapped (singing about having an unholstered loaded gun (lol), so thumbs up EA for that 🙂
Any idea how long I can wait to do this questline? I hate to take Homer away from earning stuff…can I finish this questline once I’ve gotten everything from Act 3? (If not, then I guess I’ll do it between now and when Act 2 starts, since I’ve pretty much finished Act 1, except for the daily tasks and Wes Doobner’s questline.)

Hey, I know you said there are no bonuts for this event, but after my Rib Hut finished building I got a quest to get “More Clues” with a target of 1500 more clues. It sure looks like the normal bonuts quest with a counter (0/1500) and all, but you’re saying that it’s not? Or did you not get this quest?
I got the same quest, collected 1500, and got nothing! Not sure if it’s a glitch.
It’s not a glitch…it’s the way it was supposed to be. They never said you’d get donuts for that…they were just saying that if you keep making trades on the final day, you’ll get donuts. But I agree that they way they worded things was confusing.
The last prize for Act 1 is the Rib Hut, (not Rub Hut), right?
With this building, Wes Doobner is included, which many avid watchers will already know his background. I’m wondering if this character is just a skin, and more importantly, if it will remain after the event.
I admit I didn’t check the Sunday post for this but, I’m asking it here as it deals with the prize line.

I went ahead with the quest line and the one of him riding the horse is my favorite animation so far!
Now that I’m done with the quest line, I’ll keep grinding away at collecting hats & pickaxes til the cow(boy)s come home. 🙂
Of course-now we know we will be getting cowboy duds for Bart and Maggie too. EA gave that away when we won the cowboy Homer skin. OK. 👌

Hi, I was wondering if the pickaxes and hats will be around for act 2?
I believe so, but it doesn’t really matter. There’s no option for donuts once you’ve cleared the prize track, except for day 14 in the general store. So once you’ve unlocked all the prizes and done all of the trades to get those prizes, there’s no point in earning more clues. So at that point you just hoard resources anyway…
So do you think we should keep sending all characters to earn event currency after earning all of the act 1 prizes or is it ok to take them off to do questlines and/or help at the railyard?

Been running nice and smoothly so far for me. One question though: Once all of the main track prizes have been claimed in the act, will there be bonuts? (I know donuts are listed as a daily prize at the each of the daily prize track, which is also nice.)

Can anyone tell me what the unlock dialogue is for this? I read it was really funny but I had the volume off when it unlocked. Sigh…

I like costumes and now I have two costumes for Homer (Deep Space Homer and Cowboy Homer)! Still, I think the astronaut looks cooler than the cowboy (not a fan of wild west) so I will only use the astronaut… wait…. ain’t that the plot of Toy Story?
Been unable to turn in trades at the general store since day 2 of event. Needless to say until Ea resolves the issue the game is not going anywhere fast. They are supposedly aware of the problem – just haven’t done anything in a week to resolve it. Figure I won’t finish act 1 before act 2 starts. Everyday that goes by, I get farther behind.
Do you work at EA? That’s the only way you’d know they aren’t doing anything in a week to resolve it. Just means they can’t figure out the issue yet.
Have you tried re-installing the game? Or- Try logging out of your account, close the game, swipe the game away (Apple devices), turn off your device, turn your device back on, open the game again, and log in again. Good luck.
I just want to add that I have both a Samsung and HTC device, which are Android, and I too just swipe away … this is not only an Apple device feature
You shouldn’t be behind as long as you keep earning hats and pickaxes at the same rate. Then, as long as EA releases a patch by the time act 1 ends you can turn in all of your hats and pickaxes for clues, get all the prizes and be none the worse for wear. I know it’s frustrating, but as long as you keep tapping you shouldn’t miss out on anything because of it.
How fun, I won’t be happy until I have 1,000 Homer skins!

Can’t figure out the best combination of pick axes and hats to have at any point. The payout combo keeps changing . Does anyone have a strategy? At this point I do have cowboy homer, but I think I should be ahead.
Also plan to convert SH into desert area because SH is literally in the west with a range of mountains to separate it from the town.
I usually just see which one I’m lower in and then send Homer or Apu to earn that resource accordingly. If I’m down to almost zero on both I send Homer to go for hats since they generally seem to be harder to earn. I just got the bank and barber shop at lunch today and I only play every few hours, so my strategy seems to be working okay.
His visual tasks look like alot of fun!
They are but IMO he’s had funnier tasks with other costumes
