Wild West 2016 Prize Guide: Act 1, Prize 7 Bank & Top Chop Barber Shop

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The Wild West is alive and well in our Springfields!  As the Wild West Event has hit our games and it’s full of old west inspired decorations, buildings & characters!

This Event is broken up into 3 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story.  To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act.  Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event.  For the First Act you’re tasked with collecting Clues (ico_wildwest_clue_md) to unlock each prize!

The seventh Act 1 prize is awarded at 15,860ico_wildwest_clue_md is the Bank and Top Chop Barber Shop, because Wells Fargo had to start somewhere…

So let’s take a closer look at this seventh prize and just what happens when you unlock them in your Springfield…

Once you’ve collected 15,860ico_wildwest_clue_mdyou’ll automatically be awarded the Bank and Top Chop Barber Shop.  They are two separate buildings though, so you will see two separate messages popup:

2016-04-25 11.32.13 2016-04-25 11.32.23

And you’ll have the option to Place the buildings in your Springfield immediately or store it for later.  Remember if you store it you’ll have to go into your inventory to retrieve it…

While these two buildings don’t have a tremendous impact on our towns for this event, they do come with a short questline for Homer.  My advice is to ignore this for now, until you’ve completed the Act 1 Prize track. Continue to use Homer for currency grinding at the Town Plaza

Homer starts

Homer: Woo-hoo! There’s a new bank in town!  Another precious opportunity to open checking accounts and get free junk!
Marge: Homer, are you saying we have MORE than one checking account?
Homer: Oh, dozens! How do you think I filled up our storage locker with junk with the names of banks on it?
Marge: We have a storage locker, too?
Homer: Yup. But don’t worry — the stuff inside it was FREE.
Marge: And how much are we paying for the locker?
Homer: $200 a month. What’s your point?
Build the Bank- 4hrs
Make Homer Open Checking Account for Free Stuff- 6hrs, Earns $225, 55xp

What’s Next?
Well there is 1 prize after the Stage Coach, 400 Cowboy Hats.  I’m not going to do separate posts about it as it’s pretty basic.  Once you unlock it, more hats will be added to your hat total.

indicator_townplaza_cowboyhats Awarded at 20,720ico_wildwest_clue_md.  This will add 400 Hats to your total Hat count (found in the Event Hub).  This is not a tangible item for Springfield, it’s just 400 Hats added to your total on hand.

Next Tangible Prize for Springfield…

charactersets_sideshowbob_doobnerwesdoobnerribhuts_menu  Wes Doobner’s Rib Hut- Awarded at 25,580ico_wildwest_clue_md This will be the next prize we cover in a rundown post.

  1. The main concern I have about the game is, at the end of Every Act that I’ve reached in Act 1 and in Act 2, I was on the last price for that Act, however the clock Runs Out at the same time that the last price is OFFERED. What’s up with that?!?! The developers have made it IMPOSSIBLE to get the last prize in each Act . How fare is it to work hard to get all the way to the end and the developers take the last price away from you!! Just saying.

    • I’ve all the prices from Act 1 and 2 with days to spare, so your game tactics need some serious adjustments.

    • Which last prize? The ones on the prize track? I had no problem getting those a couple of days ahead of the end of the event. Not sure why some people had such difficulty. EA made this event pretty easy (much easier than most), in my eyes.

  2. After I got Wes Doobner I was given a quest to get 1500 clues. I traded in resources to do this and then the quest just disappeared without giving me any sign of completion. I have exited my game, gone to Krustyland, gone to a friend’s town,…nothing. Was this a glitch?

In previous events the event currency changes after that phase is over. Does anyone know if pick axes and hats will continue to be used?

Bye the way. I continued to get clues and did have the three boxes open up. On my second try I got three bonuts.

  4. Is there a way to increase the generating of hats? I’m sending Homer and everyone in that way, but I’ve got over about 20 times more axes than hats, and I need a lot more hats to trade in for clues.

    • Not that’s it. Hats are earned at a lesser rate than axes..intentionally.

    • I’m hurtin’ for hats as well. I think I made it worse for myself because at first I didn’t realize the difference between Rile people up and Sell overpriced supplies, so I ended up earning a whole bunch of axes at first. Now I have like 7000 axes, but I’m living hat paycheck to hat paycheck… 🙁

  5. Love that they aren’t huge

  6. I have all of the Act I prizes and 10k+ of the axes and hats, each. Is there a thread explaining what to do while waiting for Act 2? I see donuts on Day 14 at the store, but are there other incentives to gain even more donuts, or do we just keep on piling up the clues as much as possible?
    Thanks

    • No thread on that yet, because it’s still a little early. No incentives to get even more donuts. But don’t trade resources in for Clues. Just get Axes and hats and do 4 trades/day at the store to get your prizes. Once that’s done…do not continue to trade for Clues. Clues will be worthless once Act 2 starts.

  7. I liked getting two free buildings (with another one yet to come, just this act alone) and that they weren’t very big (since I’m not super into the whole wild west thing and would rather keep that section of town from taking up too much land space

  8. Wolfcastle has a 2hr task at the barbershop – “Get to a Choppa”

  9. The TopChop Barber Shop makes me think of Doctor Barber from the Misadventures of Flapjack (maybe after the event I might place it on Squidport) 🙂

  10. It is nice we got two buildings at once, I think even EA knew that they were pretty underwhelming prizes 🙂

  11. I know it’s just a cartoon but I don’t like the image of the guy on the TopChop sign. I would cover it up but than I loose the cigar-store-Indian (picked my battles and thus it is all seen) 😐

    • Then you don’t like the Itchy&Scratchy cartoons too. My dear departed mother used to say if there was something scary on the television: “It’s only a movie.” (in very reassuring voice)

    • I don’t like it either. It isn’t the violence, it’s the image of someone being scalped with a feathered tomahawk. I know it’s just a game, but seriously?

  12. Any idea if the caps and pickaxes will roll over to Act 2? Should I churn and accumulate them after I’ve gotten the Rib Hut?

I’m not there yet but should be able to get it by Sat and just wanna plan ahead.

    Thanks! 🙂

  13. Hi, yesterday I unlocked the Bank and Top Chop Barber Shop….but at the time I was placing it in my Springfield, the game lost connection…..When I back to the game, the Bank and Top Chop Barber Shop wasn’t there.
I looked in all Springfield, on the inventory…but nothing.
Do you have any idea for recover this building?
