Wild West 2016 Prize Guide: Act 2, Prize 1 Tumbleweed

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The Wild West is alive and well in our Springfields!  As the Wild West Event has hit our games and it’s full of old west inspired decorations, buildings & characters!

This Event is broken up into 3 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story.  To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act.  Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event.  For the Second Act you’re tasked with collecting Deputy Badges         (ico_wildwest_deputybadges_md) to unlock each prize!

The very first Act 2 prize (and first prize of the entire event) is awarded at 1,190ico_wildwest_deputybadges_md is the Tumbleweed, because every Old West town needs that Tumbleweed to roll by.

So let’s take a closer look at this first prize and just what happens when you unlock it in your Springfield…

Once you’ve collected 1,190 ico_wildwest_deputybadges_md you’ll automatically be awarded the Tumbleweed and you’ll see this message popup:

2016-05-03 20.06.38

The Tumbleweed will automatically enter into your Springfield.  You won’t have an option to store it.

Once it arrives in Springfield you’ll see it’s character unlock message (yes the Tumbleweed is a character…):

And it’s part of the Old West Partners Character Collection:

The Tumbleweed is an NPC.  It does not have tasks and will not earn you an additional currency.

It is animated, in that it rolls around your Springfield.  And when you tap on it it disappears…

You will get a task that pops up once you’ve won the Tumbleweed:

Rollin’ Rollin’ Rollin’ Pt. 1
Auto starts

Tap Tumbleweed- Tap the Tumbleweed and watch the animation..

And there you have it the details behind the Tumbleweed…the weed that tumbles.

What’s Next?
Well there is 1 prize after the Tumbleweed, 200 Guns.  I’m not going to do separate posts about them as it’s pretty basic.  Once you unlock it, more guns will be added to your gun total.

Here’s a quick breakdown…

100px-WW_Guns Awarded at 1,910ico_wildwest_deputybadges_md.  This will add 200 Guns to your total Gun count (found in the Event Hub).  This is not a tangible item for Springfield, it’s just 200 Guns added to your total on hand.

Next Tangible Prize for Springfield…

Ordnance_Express Ordnance Express- Awarded at 3,890ico_wildwest_deputybadges_md.  This will be the next prize we cover in a rundown post.

So that my friends is the full breakdown of the first (and second) Act 2 prize!

  1. Tumble weed ?
    More like dust bunny !

  2. So…are you doing a WDTCF for our little tumbling friend? (Lol) ; )

  3. Olay, so, apparently I’m the only one who likes my little tumbleweed (and I find it amusing to see it in a character group – Tot, I’m going to beat you to it and name it “Tiny Tumbleweed”). I give it a tap whenever I see it tumble by. I just hope my street sweeper doesn’t get it! 😉

    • No, you’re not alone. I love my little tumbleweed. I just wish i could get some friends for it….

    • I love my tumbleweed and give it a tap when I see it roll by too! I also give Chippy a tap whenever I see him, even if it’s not time for him to give me money 🙂

  4. I could have sworn I tapped my tumbleweed a couple of times and it gave something … money or maybe guns or shields. Only once though. Am I imagining things?

You are not imagining things. The very first time I tapped it, the Tumbleweed gave $100 and some XP, but since then it’s not given anything. Hopefully we’ll be able to get a few more (and not for donuts), because just one seems kinda silly.

  5. Cute. Nothing to write home about but cute

  6. Would be nice if it was a little bigger and stayed on the dirt roads.

    • Only problem with that is a lot of people don’t have the dirt roads. I’m about the only one in my neighborhood that seems to actually use them. I guess a lot of people don’t like how they look or maybe they are just waiting until they unlock everything to set it all up.

  7. Did anyone see a Gil’s deal or was it just me?

  8. I’m laughing at this being a character. Not keeping it around.

Can’t decide if I want Luke or not. So cute, and the building looks good but I’m still not sure.

  9. My tumbleweed wants to be located in Springfield Heights. I put it in my storage after it entered my town but when placed near the Old Western Springfield, it insists on being in the Heights.

  10. Has anyone noticed that when you go to Town Cencus the Tumbleweed is there and the status is ‘waiting for something to do’?

A glitch, do you think? Or a possible task for the Tumbleweed in the future?

    • A glitch…

    • I think “waiting for something to do” pretty much perfectly describes the existential situation of a tumbleweed.

    • The nice thing about it being in the Town Census is that if you want to find it, you can do that. It’s so small there’s really no other good way to find it. Why you’d want to find it is a different question. If I’m bored I’ll go tap it a couple times, for no good reason.

      • Good point, although I think that part of the charm of it is that I only catch a glimpse of out once in a while.. It a nice little, “oh, there you are!” moment. I feel kinda the same way about the street sweeper. I think if I noticed them all of the time, they’d lose some of their charm.
