Before we start off this week’s Open Thread, we want to take a minute to wish all of the moms out there a very Happy Mother’s Day! We hope you have a wonderful day filled with smiles, laughter, hugs and kids that aren’t fighting!
It was on this day last year that I shared with all of you that there would be a new addition joining my family…and 6 months later the Tiny Addict arrived! So I also wanted to take a moment to thank all of you, again, for all of your support, patience and well wishes over the last year! Y’all are the best and we consider you part of our extended family!
It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

So…it took me all blasted week to figure this out. Well, I hope it works…Jeremiah wanted to say hi to Miss Riley. He likes her feeties. Saw her picture and brought me his shoes. Nearly dropped the computer laughing. So….HI RILEY…💙 Jeremiah.

Absolutely adorable! Riley says hi back and dont worry she got new shoes the other day (although she still prefers barefoot..like her mamma) 😀
Anyone still sending their rocket off? I do it as I tap my buildings and such, so I’m just curious what other people are getting. For days and days I have gotten nothing but Hail Ant signs and debris. I seriously don’t need any more, so if this is likely to continue I think I’ll just let it rest.
I still send mine off in the hope of getting the warhead but so far only debris & signs – when it even takes off. I keep doing it because it does earn a little xp & there is a chance of donuts from the debris….
My yellow submarine does a much better job of retrieving boardwalk tiles then my rocket at retrieving anything!
I’m still doing it at least once a day, sometimes twice, depending on the timing. I don’t mind getting debris…cleaned some up yesterday that I had been storing and got two donuts! (And I still have 25 of each type in storage….don’t know how many more there might be in there, but I also want to keep some for future decorating.) The only thing that annoys me is when I get those frikkin Hail Ants signs. I’ve gotten three or four topiaries, though I still have yet to get a miniature nuclear warhead.
I was getting topiaries….I think I got four, which is plenty because I had gotten some with the nature bundle and also as prizes I think from a past event. So I have seven or eight of those now. I just wish they’d change it up a bit.

Anyone know what we should be saving for act three? Is it going to be like last time? Save prospectors and hats and pickaxes and guns but dont worry about badges after you get the donuts?
I’m spending minimum to earn General Store day 13 & 14 prizes but hoarding everything else.
Will send prospectors to neighbours who look like they need some help to make the final prize but otherwise clutching as much as possible…
I would strongly guess yes…that seems to be the way these things have always worked in past events and how it’s worked in this event so far, so there’s little reason to believe anything is likely to change for Act 3.
Got the prison bus this morning, seems like it was a lot of cash for a bus. Funny how they make a couple items so expensive.
Well, when you are at the last level, they have to do something to slow us down a bit. Plus it’s a lot easier to earn that much at level 59 than it was for earlier levels. But I agree it was kind of crazy to pay that much for a bus. Especially one that’s been in a wreck like that one!
I believe Tunnel of Love was a premium item at some point. Looked for it in the store and seems it is no longer available. Popular opinion is that KL is much ado about nothing…I believe it is underutilized. Brilliant minds at EA can get it going.
Agree, really haven’t bothered playin’ around with KL for years, once I had my layout and design sorted I’ve only added the small trickle of content EA provides…
I’ve mostly picked up the previous event content for KL like the Tunnel of Love because it was easily accessible.
Maybe EA will listen and do a KL only focused event, like maybe the “Carnivale” (rival event) comes to town 🙂
Talked to an EA rep myself about a different issue but inquired about the limited time KL rides. Basically told me it won’t happen unless we light up EA’s forum demand/requesting them back.

Ok, that is pretty awesome! Lol. Believe it or not even though I knew about Flickr I never had a desire to check it out….Now I need to figure out how to use it lol. For being someone under 30 I definitely am not with the trends😂
Question for anyone, trying to build my Krustyland, see some rides I am not able to get in other towns. Like the Tunnel of Love; any feedback n how that is put out?
Those were limited time items that may or may not come back someday for purchase in the online cash shop. Was talking to a rep few weeks ago about them coming back, basically told me highly unlikely, unless we light up the EA forums requesting lol.
Thanks for the information even though at level 59 still really new to the game & am glad I found this site especially after my game crashed at the beginning of the casino event.
They were probably limited-time items…for example, I think the Tunnel of Love was available during a couple of Valentine’s Day events.
If you want info on a particular item, this site has a great Google search engine built right into it…just go to the Search menu item in the top navigation bar (not the search box) and you can probably find the info you’re looking for. 🙂

I miss my Tunnel of Love from my old game. I really wish I could transfer the things in that game into my new game.
Hey everyone I’m trying to connect all of my monorail stations and keep getting this issue where the tracks don’t meet back up. Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone know how to solve it?
If you have a gap between two tracks in the circle, I find one or two short tracks fixes the issue. If you are trying to make the track look uniform, maybe hide the short tracks behind tall buildings.
Unfortunately you may have to move one of your stations in order to make the tracks line up. Are you trying to connect all of your monorail stations together? If so, I’d try to find one that has enough space to where you can shift it over by one or more spaces. Just connect all of your rails together until it leads back to that station and shift it accordingly so everything lines up the way you want it to. For my town I actually had to switch the direction one of my stations was facing because no matter how much I shifted things it still wouldn’t line up. Hope this helps:)
Forget my question about you connecting them all together. I’m naturally a blonde so sometimes I miss things lol.
I managed to connect all of my stations but it did involve a lot of shifting things around to get everything to connect into one circuit. Is this your aim? I used a lot of short pieces to begin with then when I got more straight pieces I was able to replace them with longer straight pieces.
(2 short pieces equals one long)
I also shuffled a lot of buildings to accommodate the monorail. I have one section that is all curves and s shapes. I had always intended to replace it with straight pieces once I got them but I quite like that section now. Hope this helps.😀
Hey everyone. Got some sad news today. At 10am today, Friday the 13th (of all days), my father was on the golf course, hole 9, and had a massive heart attack. First one he ever took, and lets just say he didn’t make it. My mother and I are fine, well, as fine as can be expected, but if I’m not around for a couple days wanted to let everyone know why. RIP Dad.
So sorry for your loss. If your Dad is anything like mine, as in a golf fanatic, I’m sure he’d be okay with going out on the greens. The site will still be here, you take care of you and yours. All the best friends.
Thanks Wookiee, and yeah, its true he died doing what he loved. Just wish we had a few more years, or even one more day to tell my dad I love him, but it is what it is I guess.

My condolences to you and the family. We just never know when something bad is going to happen. I hope he spent his last moments doing something he loved.
Silly games and blogs mean nothing compared to the real important stuff, and in time hopefully you can come back to it and have it provide as a momentary distraction to help ease your mind for a bit.

Such a terrible way to lose a parent. Worse is to watch them die for months or years fighting cancer. I am so sorry for your loss. Remember all the good times and tell mom you lover her every day.
Will do. You are right, it is harder to watch it happen to someone over time. He mentioned how peaceful today was weather wise, which is out of character for him, and as I mentioned passed on the golf course, so went doing what he loved.
I’m so sorry to hear this. Losing a loved one is never easy; I lost my husband 3 years ago Monday under similar circumstances. My condolences to you and your mom.

I will, thank you Sandra *Hugs back* It’s nothing we won’t get through, just takes time. Hardest part is the first few days, notifying family, setting up the service, we’ll be ok.

As I recall, Bing Crosby (who?) also died on the golf course, doing what he loved.

That, I don’t know. I assume so where the guy we talked to said he was so peaceful, enjoyed the weather of the day and everything, so he wasn’t upset. Just fainted on the golf course so they called an ambulance, and yeah you know the rest.
Sounds like a lovely passing for him.

I’m so sorry to hear of your father’s passing. It sounds like it was very quick and he was doing what he loved which is a great way for him to go but not so great for you and your Mum. So very sudden and, like you say, you didn’t get to tell him you loved him. Maybe he knew that anyway.
Thank you. I’m sure he knew, but y’know we kind of had a relationship where it didn’t need to be said, we just knew. He had his way of showing it, as did I, but never actually said the words to each other.
Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. And I firmly believe that the relationships we have where we don’t feel we need to say the words are those rooted in the deepest love. May your heart find peace knowing you had that love for one another.

Thank you, I think we are both over the innitial shock. The healing process has begun. Reminding each other of past history with him and stuff to each other seems to be helping.

Thank you, the healing process has begun. Obviously he is still in our thoughts, and hearts, that will never change. Both my mother and I are starting to come to an understanding of what happened. One day at a time.

They were and both were skins in the Stonecutter event.

I can find the info about a lot of items by searching for the individual items. But I’m wondering if anyone has put that info in one place to make it easier to compare.

Funny you should pipe up Awesome Dave. I was just stopping by to say that I have been working on updating my little Wild West motif in Springfield. Posted new Flickr screenshots if anyone want to see what I’ve done. Added some interesting items – created an outside “shooting range” with easter eggs behind the Ordinance Express. Expanded my horse corral and put Uncle Moe’s petting zoo next to my little Wild West honeymooners area with Shotgun Pete’s.
Continues to grow and change…..

Hi cube , gonna check it out later today, sounds good. Have you checked out my casino area yet? Took me ages to get around to it , but once I started , I lost a whole afternoon and only stopped because I ran out of materials , lol. Next on the agenda is the restaurants and the sports area , got to place the tapball stadium and some of the rather numerous tennis courts that are stuck in the heights area for want of anywhere else to put them. Airport and NARA are on the list too. 🙂

My current mission is to finish my “Wonka” factory, with the last of my aspirationals, the chockie tower. Managed to get back to around $10.7 million, after land splurging, waiting till I’m over $11-12 million before I buy.

I am having a problem with completing a task for a character. The check over the building is gone, but when I click on the building he is still inside. I click complete there and nothing happens. Any suggestions?
Try clearing it via town hall. Or Store the building the character came with and replace. That’ll knock the character out
What are the odds we will see patches for buildings & decos that can’t currently be placed on dirt? Little by little?
