Addicts Open Thread

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread!  So, let’s get the conversation going!  Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long.  This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!

Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING.  Just no Add me requests…those should go here.  We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

So…here is your Open Thread. All new episode of the Simpsons tonight…and it’s time for Homer Live!!!

Here are the details if you’d like to call in and talk to Homie…888) 726-6660.  Note: the number will only work between 8-8:30pm tonight on the East Coast and West Coast.
More info on it can be found here.

NOTE: During Homer Live East Coast (well the whole episode) I’ll be right here moderating the open thread as it happens, so let’s make sure we get the conversation going.   I’ll try to the West Coast viewing as well.

How do you think the whole live event will play out?  What would you ask Homie?

Act 2 of the Wild West Event wraps up on Tuesday.   Are you ready for Act 3?

How was your weekend? Do anything fun and exciting?  Did warm weather finally hit your area?

So chat about the Simpsons, TSTO, Update fun, or anything else you can think of!  Can’t wait to chat with you all, you know we love hearing from you!

Have Fun!  And happy Sunday!

  1. So after searching every key word I can think of I still haven’t found what I’m looking for. Wasn’t there a post once upon a time about the hidden XP multiplier for Springfield Heights buildings? Basically, I hate those buildings but I figured it would be a good idea to have them out when I activate my XP collider and trade in rat trap trucks. The key thing I want to know is…1. What ugly buildings do I have to keep out? 2. What level do they have to be? 3. If it’s the top level and I have it leveled up will it still work if I have it on the level one building facade? Thanks in advance. P.s. I know this has been covered over and over again. I’m a blonde with a short memory. I’m sorry in advance.

  2. Haven’t seen this anywhere myself, so forgive me if it was mentioned somewhere, but just found out once you upgrade the Homerlayas to level 2 or higher, if you click it, can change the facade to whichever one you want.

  3. I don’t know if this was posted by anyone else or not. It is so funny and I wish I could give this to Wookiee as a belated birthday present. The video will have to do. I hope the link works.

  4. Hey Sandra, wasn’t able to hit reply**********grrrr so hopefully you see this. My sciatica causes leg pain all way down to foot sometimes my knee is only thing that hurts. Probably a stupid question but have you tried laying on your side at night with a pillow between knees? I thought this suggestion was crazy but it does help align back and alleviate that pain.
I worry about your temp being so high though, have you had that checked out?
Take care my friend, hope you start feeling better soon. Btw I’m sure you know this but stress will make sciatica worse.
All the whining about level 60 and new way to level is driving me crazy too and yes I’m grumpier than usual right now. Guess we are in good company😉 💐🌺🌹🌷

    • Went to the doctor’s today…awaiting some test results, but the current thinking is the flu, which is likely unrelated to the sciatica pain. The pain that I thought was in my esophagus is not that…apparently, it’s something cause costochondritis, which is an inflammation of the cartilage of the rib cage. Apparently, it can be caused by a cold or the flu, and it can also just happen on its own. I was just relieved to find out it wasn’t a problem with my lungs, which is what I was most concerned about.

      • Hi Sandra, costochondritis can also be caused from wearing underwire bras not kidding. I hate chest pain for years. We were on vacation on year in the Upper Peninsula, only one small hospital and it was late at night. I was lucky I was only one in there so doc said I’m not letting you leave till we figure this out. He knew at time I lived in big city, I would go to hospital they would check me for heart attack and say your heart is fine you can go home. I kept asking well what’s causing pain? Got a lot of we don’t know.

        • Interesting!

I’ve actually never worn an underwire bra (too uncomfortable)…actually, when I go out, I rarely wear a bra at all (I prefer a camisole), unless I’m going to the office, in which case I’ll usually wear a cloth-only bra. And, since most of the time I’m at home, working in bed, I’m usually not wearing any kind of undergarment.

Apparently, colds or flu are a common cause of costchondritis, so, since I have the flu, that’s what I’m assuming caused it.

      • Continued iPad acting up…. Had pain did hate it lol. Anywho if not for the visit I would never have found out. My goddaughter had same problem told her quit the under wires, we both have and pain is gone.
Hope that flu gets under control soon. Take care of yourself. Sorry you have so much going on at one time. Try to limit stress(yes I know easier said than done). Sounds like your body is on overload.
        ❤️🎈🌷💐🌺🌹

  5. @ 0ne_Wysliss . Hi I did answer your question about a drawing of Dunceman, it’s right at the bottom of this open thread , I gave you my interpretation of how he looks, and I think that it would be great if you did do a drawing of him. Thanks . 🙂

  6. I have a very heavy heart tonight. I found out today that one of the regular customers at the store I work at died of suicide. This just a week after losing another regular to the same cause. RIP my friends, you will be missed!

    • Dj, I’m so sorry suicide is such a horrific thing to deal with, I lost someone I loved dearly in Sept. & my uncle’s bday was 2 days ago he committed suicide two years ago, so believe me I know how hard this is to deal with. Wish I could help or do more than saying how sorry I am.
Please don’t beat yourself up over it, I had a long talk with my doc last week, she said once a person reaches that stage mentally there is nothing you can do. I felt with both of people maybe I should have done more maybe if………. Just know the suffering is over for them. Hold them in your heart and try to remember the good things, that will come in time.
      Sending you hugs and compassion.

      • Thank you! I do know there is nothing I could have done for them. I’ve lost 5 people to this in the past 3 years. I go to The Out Of Darkness walk every September. My friend runs this chapter, she lost her 15 year old daughter 7 years ago and is a huge advocate for suicide prevention. My uncle was committed several years ago for threats of it and thankfully they were able to get him on the right meds. I talk to my teen daughter about it and make sure she knows to tell someone if she or her friends ever feel this way. I walk for suicide prevention because I’ve been in that dark place where it seems to be the only option. I’ve made the plan and then I made a promise to myself that no matter how bad I feel, I will not take my life.

        • I’ve been in same place, what stops me is my dogs, silly reason but I look at them and wonder what they would do. My vet is a great listener and he is actually the one that said you have to stay, you save so many dogs. He suffers from depression also which is major reason he is a vet. He has hard time dealing with people and how mean they can be, he prefers the company of animals. Boy does he have a lot of them, he bought a big parcel of land and turns no animal away.
I’ve lost more then the two I told you about, which is also a good reason not to commit suicide, you see what it does to everyone around the family. It’s horrific some family and friends never recover from the loss and never loose the guilt.
The out of darkness walks sounds like an awesome program. Also happy to hear you have talks with your daughter about it.
Fl is the number 1 state in country for suicide! The way they deal with chronic depression here is shameful.
Like you I have promised to never take my life either. I’m glad you responded and talked to me about it. I feel better knowing you have a good support group. Take some time to go outside, go for a walk and just enjoy being able to walk another day, try a funny movie or anything that makes you smile.😊

          • I’m glad you have made the promise to yourself also! I am in IN now but lived in FL in the late 90’s. I remember a news story about a man jumping off a bridge and taking his dog. The dog survived! That’s how they found him. If you are interested in the out of darkness walks, look it up online, they have chapters all over the USA. I have been making myself get out more, do more and trying to get in the sun when it shines! Thanks for talking to me about it!! It’s a big issue for me!

            • You are very welcome, you can write me anytime. I’m usually better at answering. Yesterday was my Dad’s bday & he is no longer on this planet so took some time away and went down to beach, it’s a little difficult with my back but was well worth it (except very crowded forget holiday weekend coming up) water was crystal clear and Aqua, found a few small shark teeth and small fossils. Made me feel so much better mentally getting out, back not so much. Thanks for talking back and forth it’s nice to have a person who understands.😀
