The End Of Level Updates and What it All Means…

Update: Guys I’ve said this in many places on the site, including this post.  You MUST FINISH THE LEVEL 60 QUESTLINE TO GET THE HOMER MOUNTAIN.  Just because you’re at Level 156…or anything over Level 60, literally means NOTHING for this.  You HAVE TO FINISH THE QUESTLINE.  You can see the questline here.
Not to be a pain about this, but I’ve literally explained this in several places.  Including this post…and I’m still seeing many of you ask where yours is.

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

So a couple of days ago we saw Level 60 hit our games.  After 6+ months of waiting since Level 59 hit (when Level 59 hit the Tiny Addict wasn’t even born yet (it hit the day before she was born)…so Riley’s literally be waiting her WHOLE life for Level 60 to hit…crazy huh?)…EA finally dropped a new Level update in our laps.

And then dropped a bombshell…

Wha?! The FINAL Level!?  What the heck is going on?!

Naturally many of you started to freak out about the end of TSTO….

Thanks for the images Totbox!

But we’re here to tell you to STOP FREAKING OUT!  TSTO isn’t over…it’s only just getting warmed up. 🙂

So let’s break down the ins, the outs, the whys and the hows of this new way of playing…and what it all means for us..

The Basics…

Level 60 hit our games.  In true Level update fashion it arrived with a new Freemium Character, new Freemium Building, some premium selections and a new questline. (you can view the whole rundown here)

2016-05-18 11.28.28

Level 60 is just like every other level in TSTO.  You play it, you move through it and you move on.  The content will be in the game for as long as the game is running.  So you have FOR-EV-ER (in TSTO world) to finish it.

And the XP requirements to fill the bar are still pretty high, over 1 million.  So your typical Level Update.

It’s what happens AFTER level 60 where things get interesting.

Now onto your questions…

email complaints

And now I’ll try to do a better job of answering your questions than old Homie did….

What happens after Level 60?  Is That The End of Levels?

No.  After Level 60 you’ll be able to continue to Level Up to Level 61 and beyond.  There’s just nothing, character/building wise associated with those Levels.  So when you hit Level 61 you won’t get a new character to unlock.  You just hit Level 61.

There are some “Easter Eggs” at various Levels..we’ll cover them below

In other words you no longer have to wait for EA to release an update to move onto the next Level.  You’ll be able to do so as soon as you fill your XP Bar.

XP requirements are:
Levels 61-100 you need 40,000 XP for each Level
Levels 101-939 you need 500,000 XP for each level
Levels 939  you’ll need 1,000,000 XP to hit the Bonus Level Up

After My Level 60 Popup, My Level Popups Look Different Than Yours, Why?

The popups are just a template in the game.  So they will vary from player to player.  Doesn’t mean anything…

What’s The Max Level?

The current Max Level is Level 939.

Why 939?

939 is the area code for Springfield, in the Simpsons.  In the episode A Tale of Two Springfields, it’s revealed that Springfield is split into two Area Codes….636 and 939.  The Simpsons are in the 939 camp.

S12E2-area-code-residents

What Happens When I Reach 939?

When you’ve reached the Max Level you’ll be able to play for more donuts.  The Bonus Level Up! Game reappears for you.  And every time you fill your XP meter (1 million XP) you’ll get a shot at 1, 2 or 3 donuts.

If you need more info on Bonus Level Up! Check out this post.

So How Are People Getting Thousands Of Donuts for Free?

XP_Collider

They’re Donut Farming…which we’ve covered extensively in this post:

Farming for Free Donuts

They’re also enhancing it by turning on their XP Collider (more info about the XP Collider in this post).

Each time you hit a New Level (after Level 60) you get 1 donut.  So you’ll get 879 donuts just for reaching the Max Level.  Then at Level 939 you can play Bonus Level Up for every 1 million XP you get….

So they’re paying 5 donuts to turn on the Collider for 24hrs…then they’re using their in game cash to buy as many Rat Trap Delivery Trucks, Blood Mobiles or other decorations (i’ve seen people say they’re using the Wood Chipper or Tiki Bars…) to get a TON of XP.  Then they sell back the Rat Trap Trucks or Blood Mobiles.  (or other item)

They’re then left with Leveling up a TON all at once and earning donuts for it.

It’s the best way to turn your game cash into donuts.

Isn’t That Cheating?

No.  It’s playing the game as it’s intended to be played.  Why else would EA give you an item that’s meant to give you significantly more XP?  What else would you do with the XP…other than Leveling Up?

They even have a Blood Mobile Easter Egg coded in the files (I haven’t actually gotten this to popup for me in my game…so not sure if it’s still in there, but it was coded like this when Level 60 hit..).

bloodmobile_menu

Once you purchase 100 Blood Mobiles you get Rex Banner popping up with some dialogue:

Rex: That’s A LOT of Bloodmobiles you’ve been purchasing.  Just what kind of bloody foul play are you up to?

So I’m fairly confident EA knows what’s going on with this one…

So Then I Should Level Up ASAP And Get All My Donuts, Right?

Yes and no.  Personally…I think you should wait until you’ve finished the Level 60 questline to go crazy Leveling up.  (Obviously you’ll level up quickly with normal game play, but don’t force it until you’ve finished the Level 60 questline)

Here’s why…

At the end of Level 60 you’re given a prize…

2016-05-18 22.43.44

homermountain

And as you Level Up you’ll unlock more members of the family to have in the mountain range.

lisahomermountainLisa unlocks at level 138
bartlisahomermountainBart at 223
margebartlisahomermountainMarge at 419
simpsonfamilymountainMaggie at 742

So I suggest waiting until you at least have Homer before leveling up super fast…

And yes, they did patch the lockout bug so it is safe to Level up.  (so i’ve been told)

What Are Some of the Other Level Up Easter Eggs?

At various Levels you’ll get dialogue popups or quests to complete…

Level 89- 2016-05-18 22.50.52

Level 97- Dialogue and Task for Gina and Bart (4hrs)

Level 100- Dialogue Popup with Mr. Burns…

Level 138- Lisa upgrade on Homerlayas

Level 200- Dialogue with Homer…I’ll let you read it for yourself..

Level 223- Bart upgrade on Homerlayas (again funny dialogue)

Level 300- Dialogue with Homer

Level 419- Marge upgrade on Homerlayas

Level 742- Maggie Upgrade on Homerlayas

Level 939- End of Levels…

And that’s it on the Level Up Easter Eggs…

Are You SURE This Isn’t The End of TSTO?

Yes.

How do You Know?

Because Bart told me so..

2016-05-18 11.29.09

So Why Is This Happening?

Lots of games have Levels like this…Family Guy, Disney Magic Kingdoms…other games…

But Why Is EA Doing This?

For that…you can read the game dialogue….

Of course:

Been playing for years and years…. All my characters are stuck doing same job for last 2 years. Many times I have email for help …. No reply! 😳 stuck at 939 last 3 years. Glitch in system! I call Bull#%¥#! No help! At least I’m glad to find out it’s on their end not my phone.

    • Simply store the building where you tap to collect.
Store any item where tasks are located and it ends all tasks there.
Don’t forget to put the stored building back after you fixed it.

    • PS – levels end at 939 then it’s just Donuts every million XP

  2. Which one gives you more XP rat trap trucks or blood mobile

    • They both work out at a basic 1 XP for every 10 $$s plus your bonus and if the collider has been fed
( before the 25% $$s you get back selling ’em , so it’s up to you )

    • As Graham said, they work out to be the same but, back when I used to farm, I preferred using RTTs, because they took up less room.

  3. Came Back & Still love The game…..Hope U all a Good Tapping Time….

  4. What about the items and characters that cost donuts? If there are no more levels to graduate to, wouldn’t it then be more difficult to purchase them because you can’t sell anything for donuts? In order to get everything that costs donuts, it costs more than 2,000 and even if we got donuts from level 1, that would be less than 1,000 donuts.

  5. My game must have glitched, when I hit level 60 it was 500k to get to level 61. Then it went back down to 40k like it should be. That’s 12.5 levels I should have. Oh well.

  6. I finally reached lvl 200, but my iPad crapped out as I was reading the dialogue. Anyone know what it says? I know it’s not important, but I earned the 200 the long way so I’d like to know lol.

  7. I just found this thread b/c I’ve got Mt. Homer and I was wondering when the other Mt’s show. Thanks as always for the info!
But now I’m wondering why people in this thread were leveling up with Bloodmobiles, but more recent posts mostly use Kwik E Mart
    Did something change?
Do KEM’s have a better return?
    Wassup wit dat?

    • Bloodmobiles allow you to level up quickly, but you spend a lot of cash. With KEM farming, there’s an “optimal” number to farm that doesn’t technically cost you anything. Safi has a whole post on it here: https://tstoaddicts.com/2016/09/28/from-the-mouths-of-addicts-kwik-e-mart-farming-for-free-donuts/. But as an example, I make enough every 4 hours to afford to build 40 KEMs. With my bonus multiplier and Frink’s XP booster on for 10 days, I make about 9 bonuts every 4 hours. I try to visit every 4 hours at least 4 times a day, so for my 25 donut investment in the XP booster, I make about 360 bonuts and I don’t lose a dime. (Of course, I don’t make any money for 10 days either, but it’s worth it!) Safi’s post explains how to calculate everything. It’s awesome!

  8. ive hit the lvl 60 today..didnt get the homer monument and sadly the duff gardens.. :(((

  9. I started playing in the end of January, in the middle of the Heretic event, and I’m level 50 already. I’m still on the level 37 questline though.

I figured from the start that what would matter were the events.

  10. I just reached 939. What a way to start the new year 🙂

  11. Is hitting level 100/101 why Googolplex price dropped to ~300k from ~1,7M? Also other unique buildings I hadn’t bought yet.
