We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.
So…here is your Open Thread. All new episode of the Simpsons tonight…and it’s the season finale! Can you believe Season 27 is over already? What was your favorite episode of the season?
Level 60 hit last week…along with the announcement that it would be the end of Level updates. Have you been freaking out about it? Or excited about the next changes?
Act 3 of the Wild West Event hit last week as well. Are you remembering there’s still Wild West Bandits to capture? How are you doing with Act 3 so far? Ready for the end of the Wild West?

For me the game is over. I have all the characters, all the buildings, tons of cash etc. I am level 172 at the moment. I will not be visiting neighbors often. Maybe 2x a month. If you want to delete me, that is ok. I am still gonna play here and there to level up,but not much else. I am playing other things now. Happy Tapping everyone 🙂
So you’re not interested in getting the new characters and items that will be coming out via events?
Can’t say as I blame you. All the events are repetitive. Event currency (that always gets wasted toward the end of the event), acts & crafting, drop characters (nerds, fans, bandits, etc, etc) of some type in neighbor towns, tap them in your towns. Would it kill them to try something different? They peaked with The Stonecutters & that was 2 yrs ago. I’d be happy going back to tapping or vacuuming gremlins, ghosts, & zombies. Or zapping bunnies.
I hate the daily challenges that involve SH. I have to buy some POS item I don’t even want to spend lattes. yoga mats, etc to make create room under the cap to do the challenge.

There was no previous question & your initial response could also be construed as rude by pointing out the obvious as though I was oblivious to playing the game. Hence my statement that I am not an idiot.

Oh, I got your snide reference…and, yes, there had been a question I had said in my previous reply that I couldn’t answer because I didn’t have enough info about you, but your replies cleared that right up for me. (Think about it….)
There was absolutely nothing rude about my original reply – I was genuinely trying to be helpful (and, when doing so, I usually find it’s better to err on the side of telling someone something that they might already know, rather than take the chance that they didn’t, which most people seem to understand and appreciate).
But, don’t worry – I won’t ever be troubling you again with one of my “rude” replied to a problem/concern you’re having…. I’d rather spend the effort on people who know how to be appreciative for the attempt, rather than ungrateful and unpleasant.

Hey hey happy Friday, tappers!
Just got Carl’s Dad Caverns and I totally love it. I’m a huge fan of puns and word play so I’ll admit that I laughed way too hard when I first saw that particular episode. Debating on picking up Buck McCoy or prairie maggie…..buying luke stetson last act left me with just under 80 donuts so I might treat myself and replenish the stash a la google play card. Other than that, I’m just about ready to say “happy trails” to the wild west. I’m not a huge cowboy fan but the event was still fun and nicely paced. I’d love to see some kind of summer blowout event next with barbecues, water guns, and the return of ice cream man homer. Or maybe an animal themed event (but really I just want pinchy because of a special memory with my dad)
Non-simpsons wise: I’m the best big sister ever because I scored meet and greet tickets to an event with a guy my sister has a huge crush on for her 16th birthday. She’s over the moon right now and I’m happy because she’s happy. She totally deserves it. I also had a couple of good days this week health wise and managed to get a lot of school work done. So far I’m loving hamlet and have made good progress on a sculpture I’m working on.
But most of all, I really want to say thank you to everyone here in the comments (moderators included) for making me feel so welcome and for being so kind. I’ve had to take a hiatus from twitter due to some…..nastiness from “friends” and as a result I’ve been kind of down. But everyone here is so nice and I really appreciate all the thoughtfulness and positivity. So THANK YOU all for being so awesome ❤

I’ve missed getting friend visit donuts and event bonuts. 🙁 meh, bloooring.
I’ve been really busy in RL so it was a bit weird to have such an easy event.
I haven’t missed out on any of the prizes. Most days I’ve only had a chance to play once, usually in the evenings, and I got Carl’s Dad’s Cavern today.
After level 61 hit I’ve cleared about two levels a day by just collecting from buildings and jobs. It’ll still be a long while before I get to level 939 😀
Don’t know where best to put this, so I figured here might be good.
I would like to apologize to my neighbors and hope everyone will bear with me. (I’m canid88.) My tablet yesterday has gone on strike and refuses to power on. I have insurance on it but I have no idea if it can be fixed or how long it will be in the shop. In the meantime I’ve downloaded bluestacks so I can continue playing. (Working off a laptop instead of a touch screen tablet is hard and super slow going!)
Please neighbors, while appreciated, you do not need to drop off any prospectors in my town. Trying to tap prospectors when playing through bluestacks is almost near impossible, also it makes me shout a lot of unkind words at my laptop. LOL! I’ll do my best to unload my cached prospectors as soon as I can to help neighbors in need. Sorry and thanks neighbors.
I’m so frustrated by the loss of my tablet I’m really contemplating breaking down and buying a cheap-ish tablet to fill in while mine is out of commission. Grr!
So happy news of the week is that I have a teaching job finally. Had an interview today which went really well and I start after my teacher training course finishes on 1st July. TSTO got a bit abandoned this week as I’ve been frantically planning away for lessons and other pieces of work. Next week is half term so I can catch up a bit.

Thanks Sandra, I still haven’t come back down to Earth more than 9 hours after being told. Somehow I don’t think I’ll be sleeping well tonight- way too excited. At least I can have a tapped out session for a bit tonight.

the same items / cost which are from Act 2?
I had to look twice, nay, I had to look thrice to confirm (IMHO) they are exactly the same items – just named differently.

The following comment is not meant as a dig at anyone, it’s merely an observation, so please don’t let Homer lasso me & ride me out of town😊…..I will never understand why some players, before the current event is even over, are always hankering after ‘the next thing’. Wanting to know what we’re getting next & how long it’ll be til the next event. I much prefer to have at least a fortnight’s break or more between events. I use this time to decorate/incorporate some/all the new items in my Springfield, revisit some of the new tasks and, dare I say it……have a wee break from tapping😳🙊. I hope the aforementioned tappers are not the very same who rush everything through with Donuts then complain that they are bored. It really baffles me. Addicts take a deep breath, sit back and enjoy. Be a tortoise for a change. No need to always be the hare (look what happened to him anyway)…..💜X

I agree with you – I like getting a break between events to get caught up on the questlines, do some decorating with event items (although, for this event, having finished most of it already, I’ve already started with the decorating), etc.
I always want to know what’s next, I like speculating & hearing others speculation. I wouldn’t want to literally know exactly what’s coming bc it wouldn’t be as fun. But I can’t say I wouldn’t read it 😉 I (typically) get bored in between events. But I totally understand others wanting down time. As opposed to feeling like they have to play or they won’t get a prize or whatnot, also to redecorate. I rarely, extremely rarely, rush things with donuts & never to speed up an event. Only if I’ve barely missed the last prize (also rare). I’m done w/this event now, I’m not bored though. I’m just getting even more resources to get even more rocks. Like I don’t have enough 😂. I initially hated the rocks but now I’m rockin on. Using them for all sorts of things! Oh & btw I love the way you said “a fort night” I love saying that & never hear it said.

I don’t know where I first heard it, but it was sometime during primary school.
I haven’t been able to follow the TO sites as closely as usual this week, but I seem to be seeing a lot of backlash on the googolplex theater. I would just like to go on record as saying that I *adore* the googolplex theater. Finally, finally a way to “set and forget” SH supplies. Finally! I don’t have to send eight characters on teeny little inconvenient tasks just to make an advertisement or two. Finally!
Is it expensive? Sure, but I have in game cash coming out of my ears, I don’t care! Is the hourly production time a little low? Yeah, but way more than what I was producing before, which dropped rapidly to zero after I got to a billion.
Best part is, I can build a stockpile over the storage limit, now. Finally! The limit was one of the most frustrating things in the game. There’s no limit on the cash I can stockpile, so why these other currencies? Why?! I loathed having to stop halfway through building a fence because I burned through the measly 200 things I’m allowed to have. It might take a little while, but now I can save up and build my fencing all at once. Glorious day!
Okay, I’m done now. It’s been a terrible week, I just wanted to be positive about something.

I really think & hope they’ll re-release the Gil Deal & that’s the patch. I had this happen to me with president Nixon and I REALLY wanted him. But only me, so no resolution. With this issue, they’ve received many complaints, so many. I think they’ll do something. Granted only time will tell. I hope everyone who wants Duff Gardens can get it.

Haha! Well said. I hope they re-release it for you… and the massive amounts of other people who missed it. How hard can it be for them to re-release it! People are begging to give them money! Granted idk how it works behind the scenes…maybe it’s a long arduous process. Just seems like a pretty simple solution.
My guess is that maybe they’re waiting for the event takedown update, rather than push out a separate update, since people have been complaining that the updates during this event are so huge that each time it caused some people problems with space on their device to do the update.
But that’s just a guess! 🙂

As far as the Gil deal I contacted EA end of last week & they resolved it. They were very courteous & apologetic that it did not resolve the first time I contacted them. I called them twice in 24 hours & got the solution I wanted. Suggest one is proactive for themselves.
Is anyone else having problems getting the game to start?? All I get is a blank black screen & it never loads. Uninstalled & reinstalled & got the Fox EA Gracie mini-splash page a couple of times, but is back to just a blank black screen now. Android version. Bluestacks if giving me a bunch of Bart cannot connect to server screens. More of my bad luck or is it widespread?

Daily Challenge – I have noticed that I have a mystery surprise after 5 days of daily challenges? Anyone else?

I got a news vans today. At least it is a 2% multiplier.
Last one I received was a second Lard Lads, was mildly stunned, took ages to figure out where to put it, no complaints but I usually plan ahead 😉

Some big questions I’m hoping someone can answer.
1/ was anyone with the missing Gil deal glitch able to successfully get it back after contacting EA?
2/ is anyone getting donuts from daily neighbor visits ? I’ve tapped all 100 neighbors daily and haven’t got a single donut since the start of the Wild West event.
3/ I’ve read on a few posts here about the Springfield Heights buildings adding to the bonus XP multiplier? I’ve taken all my SH buildings out of storage and it doesn’t seem to make a difference to my bonus XP percentage. ?
Any answers would be greatly appreciated, many thanks.
Charles – No donuts for me either. I stopped visiting neighbors because of this. I only go there to dump my prospectors. You only get a dozen neighbors that give currency and then it switches back to money and xp which is very very time prohibitive. There is also a severe cut back on the daily challenge giving donuts VS. event currency.

The Springfield Heights buildings do add to your XP, but it will not be reflected in the number you see. You can always check by collecting one building that generates fast, say the Kwikemart or a brown house. Make a note of how much you got in XP. Then bring out your SH buildings and then collect the same building and note what you got. You will see it is more with the SH out.

3. That’s because it’s a *hidden* bonus XP-only multiplier. The bonus multiplier number that you normally see multiplies both XP *and* cash. If you want to see it in action, wait until you have two white houses ready to be tapped. Make a note of how much XP you have. Tap one house. See how much XP you earned. Then put a few SH modern mansions or business centers (or garages) in storage. Then tap the other white house and see how much XP you earned that time. (Go by the number on the meter, rather than by trying to read the floaty info.) You should see a definite difference between the yield on the two taps.
Just a heads up to all tappers that have Prarie Maggie.
Her 8-hour task “Befriend WIld Animals”, although it is an outside/visual task, she still becomes one with the house. After starting the task, I can click her, and it shows the task name and time, but if I go to store her, it will not let me. Just to see if I was just hitting the house and not her by mistake, I greyed out buildings. Surprisingly, Maggie was greyed out also, so she is considered inside the Simpson house even though it is an outside/visual task.
I just noticed that today. Other just-outside-of-buildings characters can be stored separately from their building, right?

OMG, so most of you know I’m planning on driving across country so been having jeep fixed up and checked out to make sure all is ok. Husband thought it would be good idea to have inside detailed, I didn’t think it necessary. Detailers are here at my house, I only have one key they were both told that, it’s never been a big deal and we talked about getting a second one, but very expensive. You cannot lock the jeep with key in ignition especially if it’s running, so I’ve never been concerned plus I’m a lil ocd so always check at least two times before closing. I called my insurance co and rep even said you can’t lock that vehicle. They are taking care of it at their expense, but jeep in driveway running locked!
Yikers! My Ford has a keypad on the driver’s side door for those occasions when your keys are unavailable – either in or out of your vehicle. It has come in handy more than once. At least you didn’t have a kid – or any dogs – in there!
Thank God for small miracles. Locksmith got door open in about 2 minutes after half hour wait. Went right down and got 2nd key made>
Nightmare! I have only the one key, but like jjleigh I kinda have a backup, the manual and plastic keys. Won’t start it but will still open it. They’re cheaper to replace than the full blown fob if you haven’t bought it already…
This is why I kinda dread having to get a new car at some point. I drive a 2001 Toyota Corolla, which has a nice old-fashioned regular key. Not only was it inexpensive to replace (about $5) when I lost my keys last summer, it’s small and doesn’t take up much room in my little fanny-pack purse or my pocket. With the new cars, I don’t even think getting just a regular, plain key is possible anymore, and I hear horror stories of people, paying hundreds of dollars for a replacement key fob.
Thanks for info, I did buy key, haven’t bought the fob yet as its $100. It sure would make it easier with dogs though as key only unlocks driver door so kind of hassle when u have two dogs, but there are worse things in life than having to walk back a forth around car.

It’s basically whenever they feel like it. Oftentimes you’ll get a sale around a holiday, like we recently did for Whacking Day. But as far as yard sales, Gil Deals, unless it’s a holiday, it’s random.
There is no set schedule and no way to know until EA decides to release one.
Upcoming possibilities include End-of-school (I’m pretty sure we got an option to buy re-released limited time characters last year), Pride (c’mon Julio and Grady!!!) and 4th of July (Presidents, fireworks and flags). If you’re looking for price breaks, EA is pretty good at getting us to dump donuts before a major event so us premium players will buy more, I expect a yard sale before the THOH event.
Ugh. I was tapping half-asleep and accidentally rushed the 152 eight-hour tasks I had just sent my characters on. Frantically tapped “cancel” a zillion times, but it was too late. Spent at least 600 donuts. Needless to say, I jumped right on my computer and started a ticket with EA. The guy in the live chat had to transfer my case to a “mobile specialist,” but seemed like he thought I could get them back. *whew* Talk about waking me up!
Hey, moderators – any advice you can give on increasing the odds of talking to someone from the USA when I’m on a call with EA? I just got off the phone with a nice lady in India, who basically told me that there was nothing they could do and even a roll back of 24 hours would not restore my donuts. I *know* the people in the US are more able to help than that. *bangs head against desk*
What really irritates me is I *always* have my donut confirmation on. ALWAYS. But with this constant leveling up lately, it must have reset to off. Really upset right now. I’ve spent a lot of money on this game, and now I feel like I’m getting the shaft from EA. They’ve got it set up that they randomly turn off my confirmation button, and then they say, “Sorry you lost the real world equivalent of $25-30 because of how we set up the game. You should probably turn that back on.”
I just hang up and call again…usually as long as it’s between 9-8 on the East Coast you have a shot at a US rep. But I generally just hang up and keep trying…
I’m actually on the phone with someone named Dean right now. Sounds Irish. Basically, I’m screwed out of them completely. Pretty sucky, honestly. Doing my best not to be rude to him because it’s really, truly, not his fault. But it still sucks.
At least I’ve got the QuickThoughts survey money so I can replace them eventually. This fiasco left me with 13 donuts in my account.
Note to self, never play when very tired and twitchy again. 🙁

Upside of it is that back in September a the end of the Monorail event, I had that glitch where buildings were resetting without paying income, so I had a 20 donut credit sitting there that I was able to get. (Originally, the rep didn’t want to credit my account immediately in case EA rolled out a widespread credit to all affected players.)
Oh, and my spend donut confirmation button was on, so my finger twitched twice, apparently. *sigh*

I know we already have Hugo as a character but next THOH it could be cool if they had him chained up somewhere as a decoration… maybe an animated task?
It looks like I missed out on the free leveling donuts everybody got…I’m still on level 60 needing over a million to get to 61…and I had previously leveled past the max a few times….
Once you get past 60 it is not hard to level up provided you have a good amount of in-game cash. I used the XP multiplier without the glitch and have climbed past Level 300 already.
Once you get to level 61, the XP requirements drop to only 40k, until level 100.
Sometimes, in the morning when everyone is waiting to be cleared off of their overnight tasks and most of my buildings are waiting to be collected, I’ll go clear my whole town and level up twice. (I’ve got a really high bonus multiplier, lots of buildings, and most of the characters. *clearsthroat* I’m not addicted…)
Don’t fret. Like Wookie and Sandra have said, once you get to Level 61, you’ll find it a lot easier to level up because the requirements drop. 🙂
So anxious. Just 220 TNT away from getting Carl’s Dad’s Cavern but hit the limit for today. There is that 20 doughnut button haunting me to push it and finish. I know I CAN wait 12 hours, but I am not sure if my thumb will let me.

I just found that on my Homer (now that he’s not being assigned from the Plaza). It’s my guess that it’s related to Level 60, but I haven’t placed that building yet.
Just wondering if anyone has any news on the missing Gil deal? Hasn’t reappeared for me and I’d really like it!
The patch will hit when it does. Nobody here has that foresight. I feel confident that EA will rerelease the offer with a new timer because of the beaucoup donuts they will reap from it. Actually, I think Duff Gardens would be donuts well spent.
As it is, I think it will be, well, donuts not spent.
It’s shaping up to be a Donut Day. I’ve leveled up 6 times, finally hitting level 101. With the XP requirement bumped up to 500k that will slow down my leveling, for now. I got 5 from Sideshow You and my daily challenge, after switching, is for 6 donuts to broadcast the hour long program at KBBL. Those 6 more than double my total output of donuts, from the daily challenges, during this event. 🍩🙂
I got the Sideshow You donuts today too! And the 6 donuts yesterday for a 1 hr task.
