In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where did THAT Come From?
Howdy and Yeehaw Cowboy and Cowgirleenos! How in tarnation are y’all doing? Liking the 2016 TSTO Wild West Event? It’s Act Three in this darn-tootin’ new event and with every new imagining by the designers comes new items. This of course means the wild gang here at Addicts gets to dive into the Best. Show. Ever. and find new critters like the outlaws they are. For this post, I checked out the wanted posters and decided to ride down the origins for Sneed’s Feed & Seed… a premium building for 90 donuts. Let’s check out the TV series to find out.
“E-I-E-I-(Annoyed Grunt)” (S11:E5)
Homer is inspired by a historically inaccurate Zorro movie to start challenging people to duels by slapping them with a glove. It’s fun until he challenges the wrong person… a Southern Gentleman who loves dueling. Homer and the family are forced to flee and when a Habitat for Humanity built by Jimmy Carter isn’t an option, they head to the old Simpson farm where Homer grew up.
Homer’s plan is to become a farmer. “Let the agriculture begin!” The local store for everything he would need is Sneed’s Feed & Seed (Formerly Chuck’s).
Not much more that needs to be said about Sneed’s. I definitely want one of those old style trucks I always think of in connection with Cletus. There are locals outside who heckle Homer for his “fancy” ways and a nice enough pragmatic fellar who runs it.
This store is where Homer got his Tobacco and Tomato seeds which led to Tomacco. Leave it to Homer to just plant different seeds together and actually grow something on land which had been infertile for ages by using plutonium. I just wish the candy corn and gummy bears had yielded something.
I consider this building to be one of the most hilarious, risqué jokes that the writers have ever done on the show. It’s always been one of those items I thought would never make it into the game but I’m glad I was wrong. What do you think of it? Did you buy it? Tomacco seeds! 🙂 I got Sneed’s because I liked the look of the building, not because of the joke. Kinda wish the old dudes would’ve come with it. When it’s animated there’s a chicken on the porch. I’m with Wookie – it’d be great to get an old fashioned pick-up truck for the game.
I’m only tempted now, after reading this WDTCF, because it is the source of Cletus’ Farm’s Tomacco. I could put the building near the farm.

I have to admit the first time I saw this sign I didn’t get the joke. “So the store used to be called Chuck’s? Or Chuck’s Feed and Seed?” Lol, someone had to explain the gag to me!

Once they establish the rhyming name, they’re banking on people automatically altering it mentally to rhyme again with “Chuck’s.”
