Hello Happy Tappers!
Well, I certainly hope we are all happy tappers. It has been some time (weeks?) since I’ve browsed around but had some down time at 10:59 pm here in New Mex, so I thought I’d say Hola!
What’s up you may ask? Donuts for tapping FRIENDS! Yes! Finally. You’ll be seeing my handshakes, and I look forward to seeing who’s browsing around my little joyful corner of the universe.
So….synopsis. My mother got me a fitbit alta for Mother’s Day. I think that’s how long it’s been since I’ve been around. 🙁
I am now officially insane. Do you know you can scan food labels, measure your food and track calorie intake versus output? Apparently, not the most accurate, but let’s just say I have yet to eat much ice cream at all. And that’s saying a lot for someone who would put down a pint in one sitting. We are also doing an exercise challenge together – 10k a Day. We walk/jog for 10km per day. This crazy thing actually counts your steps (again, somewhat unsure on the accuracy because sometimes I can walk across the house and it counts nothing, but….hey, walking down the hall isn’t exactly exercise). Anyway…..putting in 15-17,000 steps a day. This lame excuse is why I haven’t been on the site. I take the kids to the park every morning and then we walk the neighborhood every night and then I run after putting them to bed. So far – lost 14 pounds…..and I wasn’t even trying to do that….I just wanted to win the challenge. (I’m just a bit competitive…a bit…teensy bit).
Other than that……TOTALLY LOVED DONUT DAY! Took my three little knee biters to Rita’s (a custom donut shop) where you pic your glaze and toppings just the way you like it. They got vanilla with gummy bears, and dare I say, the one bite I took….was damn good.
Speaking of donuts….I SPLURGED, I tell you. Got the donut shop, donut truck, DONUT BOAT!!! I think the fact that tapping the donut boat makes it rain donuts worth every sprinkle I spent. Actually, I have to ignore how many sprinkles I spent for that ridiculous thing, but gosh darnit. I just love it. Now I have a cute little boardwalk area completely dedicated to all things donuts. Put the donut tray along the walkway with benches and a coffee kart out in front of the shoppe, with the boat at the end waiting to unload yummy bits of sugary goodness to blissful Springfielders.
Hope this post finds you all well. I’ve been wondering how things have been going for everyone, so just wanted to take a minute….while I had one.
AND….I bought a car. Totally forgot. This might be the most practically important news of all. About a year ago my car got torched. Nope, not kidding. Literally burned to the ground. It was CRAZY. In 30 minutes the entire inside of my vehicle melted to a glob of metal. (If anyone has ever melted a pot on the stove, you will know what I’m talking about on a small scale….just multiply that by like….1,000). So, car gone.
My gracious mother had a little Ranger truck she’s kept to help friends move and haul stuff and such, so for about a YEAR, me and my THREE kids have been riding around in this little ranger. After searching FOREVER….because cars, well, they are damn expensive. I found a beautiful little cheap Volvo….now are you ready? It’s old, I mean not classic, but old…2002….and are you ready for it? 69.5k miles. YES. That is NOT a typo.
One more time….sixty nine thousand five hundred ORIGINAL ACTUAL MILES. The thing is like brand spanking new. So I found the steal of the century, my kids now don’t have to climb in the truck…and it has a sunroof people.
So, I’m out 4k, no longer have to drive a truck with all the kids, have lost almost 15 pounds, have bought up boatloads of premium items (literally, a BOAT!) and that’s my $0.02 contribution for this week.
Plus, being from New Mexico – I just gotta say – Red or Green? It is the Chiliad afterall. SBGIBBS…..you know you love growing chile on the farm!

Yikes on the torched car, but congrats on the new one! My husband and I both drive 2001 Toyotas (mine’s a Corolla, his an Echo), each worth about 75,000 miles on them. We did buy them new, though…we’re both the kind if people who buy cars and then drive them until they’re “done.”
Congrats on all of the fitness stuff…I haven’t seen the inside of my fitness club in about a month, thanks to the flu I had and all of the weekend time I’ve had to spend in the office purging and packing stuff. I’m hoping to finally get there today, but it’s so nasty and rainy out that I kinda just want to burrow in my bed and not go anywhere… So, we’ll see.
Time to go see if the new Open Thread is open yet…hope to see you there! 😉
Oh, and the idea of a vanilla donut with gummy bears on it makes my teeth ache! Not sure that sounds like a winning combination to me…I like gummy bears, but on a donut? Ummmm….no, thanks. 😛
Happy Donut Day y’all! And let me tell you, the name did. not. lie. Opened my game to a daily challenge for 6 donuts, then the free 15 popped up, I finished the bloaters at the squidport quest I’d put off for another 5, then bought a tray of 132, followed by a stack of 60. I had my sister scratch the scratch-rs because she’s luckier than me and got 12, 9, and 9 sprinklies respectively. Grand total: up 237 donuts…….mmmmmmmmm *drool*

Well, bit of a Cube update…
I finally made the Billionaire club (congrats to all recent members, Brit, Swiss, Sliq, an’ all ;)!
Minor shuffling and placing and I’ve managed to fit the “playground” where I wanted it, and now have the mammoth task of making SH look vaguely part of Springfield…
After 3 years or so, finally feel like I’ve caught up after managing all aspirationals, no longer having to cash mine anymore I’m a bit unsure of where to spend cash next after finishing upgrading the Tax Office…
More land I suppose, I probably have only 2/3 rds of all available, that way I could spread out a bit. I have also been purchasing boardwalk to expand space there as well.
But thoughts, once you’ve bought everything what do YOU buy?
For those whose who have the street sweeper mine seems locked on the dirt roads in my old town. I cannot get it out of there. Yesterday it was the dinasour also till I put it to inventory & returned it several times. Any one else is seeng this?
Mine has been floating around dirt for a bit, maybe the poor thing is desperately trying to scrub them into roads 😉 Haven’t tried storing and replacing, maybe that could help?
I tried to do that, but it wouldn’t let me store it…got the “Sorry, hoarder” message, which I thought was ridiculous, considering it was even a premium purchase! So, I wonder if it keeps the Simpson’s house and the lemon tree company of you try to nuke your town? (I may never know, since I certainly never intend to do that, ever.)
Yes!!! I had just two squares of dirt road leading up to the entrance of Bloodbath Gulch (the rest is plain dirt) and I had to get rid of them (change them to plain dirt) or muy street sweeper would just stay there all day! Stampy seemed to be gravitating to that spot, too.
I really like the dirt roads, I hope they can manage to code the street sweeper to only stay on paved streets. I removed my dirt roads around the Gulch, I’m hoping when I put them back it works properly 😀
The new mini-event got me thinking: if ciara can summon the chili cook-off and space coyote, maybe I can summon something I want into the game. So here goes.
Oh mysterious EA, bring me Pinchy the lobster. I need Mr. Pinchy in the game, preferably as a playable character like Furious D or Plopper. Give him tasks like becoming a free range lobster, splashing Homer in the kiddie pool, a walk on the beach with Homer, and finally “a nice, hot bath”. I’ll even take an NPC. Just bring me Pinchy……..Pinchyyyyyy……Piiiiiinchy the lobsterrrrrrrr.

So, hooray for bonuts returning during neighbour visits – got 3 last night! Ran across something very interesting though. Visited a neighbour whose name didn’t really ring a bell once way or the other (not a big helper for events or anything for sure)….I have made no changes to my neighbour list added or deleted in at least a month, and when I visit, I normally hit all towns so I’ve seen ’em all. This guy’s town is suddenly just a fairly small green square with debris and Homer. First thought is, maybe he nuked, but there isn’t even a Simpsons house (can you nuke that?) and also, I look and he’s at level 1. At that point in the game, I don’t think you even can get neighbours. What’s the deal with this player/town? Hacked, unfortunate really messed up rollback?…..?? Thoughts anyone?
That’s really strange. I’ve never nuked so I have no idea. I would hate to think someone got rolled back but it could be…..
On a totally unrelated note: do you play yahtzee with buddies by any chance? I ask because I’ve been playing someone with the name joinottawa with Marge as their icon and I read that you’re in that part of the province. So I wondered if it was you (otherwise it’s a really interesting coincidence and I’ll ask them if they play TSTO!)
That’s funny, but no, not me. I’m not that big a Simpsons fan. She’s probably an old lady with one of those blue hair rinses, LOL.
LOL, could be 😂 I figured it wasn’t you, seeing as you’d have probably recognized me because I have the same user there. I’ll have to ask if they’re a tapper as well though. And I never knew you weren’t really a fan; I guess I just assumed that everyone that played was into the show. But now my curiosity is piqued: do you mind if I ask how you got into the game?
Keep an eye on them. I’d guess the game got messed up somehow, maybe at EA’s end. If so, then they’ll probably fix it.
When you nuke, no you can’t store the Simpsons house nor a few other items, like the Lemon tree. Also, if you nuke the square doesn’t get smaller, it’s whatever size of land that you bought. I’ve nuked in my second game maybe twice. lol.
Good info. That’s definitely very weird what I’ve seen. It’s been 2 days now, but I won’t drop him unless it stays this way for a few weeks.
Hi all you Addicts.
So between events i like to try and get both Heights and Monorail going but I find it hard to make sure I land the tracks and 5 extra sprinkles and also have enough people collecting at Heights.
Any strategy you can share to maximise these tasks?
Doing both is hard. I found that totally ignoring one (Railyard) to focus on the other (SH) that it was possible to make progress in SH. But if you’re just talking about some sort of middle ground…. I’m not sure. Off the top of my head, maybe using just an hour dedicated to SH and then dividing it back up to work on both. Or, you might just need to get some premium characters. It’s optional, but since you want to play this way, I’d say to make it easier on yourself and get some premiums. Premium characters only work either on SH or only on the Railyard, so they’re always in those areas, and that’s a good thing.
For the Railyard specifically, I found that turning in the middle blueprints (instead of the large ones) can make it easier when your characters are off elsewhere. Even the small blueprints can be helpful. Try it.
How many times do you watch your favorite shows on TV and have to sit through four or five minutes of commercials. For the many fans of “The Big Bang Theory”, do you realize there is only 18 or 19 minutes of the show and the rest of the 30 minutes is commercials? During those commercials is when I will grind through SH. Makes the most of my downtime downtime.
I hope that was a general question, because specifically I haven’t seen commercials daily in years. Also, TBBT is approx. 22 minutes long like most half-hour shows. But, yes, that’s a good idea. I have done it while watching an old movie.
Actually, most episodes are 19 or 20 minutes long. There were only two in this last season that were 22 minutes long. That being said, the idea was that you can grind during the numerous commercials imbedded in today’s TV shows.
When I have both monorail & SH going I focus on monorail first with all hands on deck with just the ‘leftovers’ grinding at SH. Once my bonuts are secured and storage re-stocked then I focus on SH.
When there isn’t an event going on using monorail people I can be done with monorail sometime on Friday so then I have 3+ days to focus exclusively on SH before monorail madness starts again…
Bonuts trumps SH every time!

It really helps If you have a lot of premium characters, like I do. Otherwise it is either /or.
I have a couple of the premiums for the Rail Yard and SH but not all (freemium player here), i have been focusing on the railyard and the left overs hit up heights like you’ve mentioned lately. Sometimes i forget to send them to heights or railyard tasks and set them all on hour(s) tasks.

Sorta. I felt a little bad since I used the collider just after the event and was tapping every building many times during that day. But I still saw thumbs!! It’s all good. 🙂

I know it might be a long time before they offer Barney on a discount (especially with the backlash at the time) but I think he costs way too much, so I’d go with Frink. (Also, I like Frink better.)

This is a tough choice, considering I got barney during the rebate and of course that means that I want the character I don’t yet have (Frink). I like both characters and wonder if a similar type of rebate might be offered for Frink in the future. But there’s likely a major event coming up this summer so if you want to have some sprinklies left over for that, I’d go with Frink. If you eventually want Barney anyway, I’d bite the bullet and just buy him now because it’s not likely he’ll go on sale for a while. So to sum up: depends on your donut situation 😉
Definitely Frink, far more TSTO event interaction based on previous events 😉

Okay this is super embarrassing because it’s me (castleterr) making another apology again. This time, it’s for niftyuk. I’m sorry I vandalised your building(s). I might have accidentally vandalised two buildings while I tried to clean up the previous vandalism, only to realise that it was me who caused it (I assume so).
On this note, I notice the first action that happens after I do visiting is vandalism and so ill delete the app and not visit my neighbours houses for the time being.

Just get some neighbors that don’t care if you vandalize. I’m a player that doesn’t give a fudge about that (but my neighbor list is full, fyi). There’s plenty of us. It’s part of the game to vandalize. Stealing Lemon Trees is not part of the game. If you somehow managed to do that I’d accept your apology. 😉
St along the lemon tree isn’t possible any more for a long time. It made the game crash and EA is all their wisdom switched it off.

So I got lucky because I had the lemon tree before it was removed and it is still in my town making lemons that many mystery boxes payed off

I’m so sorry I accidentally vandalised one of your buildings (the one near the pride flag, I’m not sure what’s the building) because I was having my finger on the loading screen and when your Springfield loaded the vandalise button automatically got triggered and it vandalised your town before I knew it. I’m honestly so so sorry about this 🙁

hey guys. i’m pretty new to this game – just started playing during the wild west event. so now that it’s over, what do you do with the wild west items? the buildings are still making money, so is it wise to put these items in storage?

I am a freemium player, collect donuts as I go along, made a few purchases here and there, probably the brewery was my biggest splurge. Now, with the daily activity and Maggie, earning donuts is so much easier – so I have 326 donuts burning a hole in my pocket. Looking for advice on items that might be worth the purchase, because it sucks buying something stupid when you take forever to have the chance.

I updated my game,sent everyone on jobs,visited my neighbours,moved a couple of things and was content.
I read the speculation on what’s coming next and realised I hope it’s not for a couple of weeks at least.

Doing an event is like taking a trip…it is exciting to go, but always look forward to getting back home. Enjoyed this event and happy for all the changes EA has made to help make the game more enjoyable, just ready for it to end. It has ended half way as far as everything is still available to do, but nothing is gained in the end.

I just spent $200,000 at the Googolplex to earn 5 Awards. It is so worth it to me to not have to be tied to my game earning Smart Devices and Pills first. I love having this available to me!
I got the Homerlayas on Sunday. Now more than ever, we really need EA to add land along the mountain side of Springfield. There are only a couple spots I can put it because of how my town is created and I don’t want to undo what I’ve created. I really like what I’ve done along the mountains. Hopefully we also get more land in Springfield Heights.
Yes! More mountains, please! There are so many things I want to put on that end of my town at this point.
Whats the use of space debris brought by rocket? It doesn’t even appear to give donuts upon clearing, like regular springfield debris could give. Or am i missing something?
I ve cleared so much of space debris and got nothing. Rocket either brings hail ants sign or space debris and both are useless. 😡
Well some people like designing with it (Bunny is one of those people). But if you place it in your town and have Homer or Lisa Clean Up Springfield (6s) you’ll have a chance to get a donut from the trash.
I did get 1 donut from cleaning up about 100 pieces of space debris, lol. But i so agree with your complaint about the Hail Ants sign…my 41st one came back yesterday. Oh, and once i got a Kodos topiary. My rocket is orbiting right now…maybe today I’ll get something decent😞.

Keep playing, it pays out other stuff besides signs. I have gotten 5 kodos topiarys and two mini nuclear bombs.
The debris does occasionally yield donuts, but it’s a pretty low percentage, so it could take a while before you get lucky. I’ll take the debris over another “Hail Ants” sign any day! (Plus, the debris can be useful to decorate with sometimes.)
Still haven’t received a Nuke, have you SS? I reckon it’s a myth ;)!

I cannot BELIEVE they wasted this opportunity to introduce the fox and the turtle from The Mysterious Voyage Of Homer! The desert event was literally the PERFECT opportunity to introduce these characters!
Unless that “something hot” coming soon could be a sign of a chilli cook-off event which ties in with the desert event and leads to Homer going crazy after eating a spicy pepper and hallucinating them… please please please!

Well, the clock has finally run down and the sun is setting on the old west event. I caved and picked up Buck McCoy with half an hour left and I’m ready to move on to something new (but a break would be nice first).
In other happenings, the weather has been great here over the past couple days and I’ve spent a good amount of time outside. On Saturday, I went to the park with my sister and yesterday I spent the better part of an afternoon power-washing the deck with my dad. If you’ve never used a powerwasher before, I highly recommend it; soooooo much fun and I felt like a ghostbuster! Today has been a great day for me too. I won a $25 amazon gift card (I never win contests so I was super excited). Didn’t feel too sick so I went for an hour long car ride with my grandpa and aunt to see some horses and get coffee. I came home to find a package that I’d ordered had come early and received a belated birthday card from my grandparents on my dad’s side. Then I had my favourite meal for dinner: pot roast. All in all, it was a pretty sweet day 🙂

However, I don’t promise not to vandalize, although I try to avoid it unless there’s nothing else that I can find to tap reasonably easily. I also prefer that my neighbors visit me at least once or twice a week. In return, I’ll do the same (or more), of course! 🙂
Thanks Sandra! I’m super flattered by the invite but I don’t if I’m the best neighboureeno right now. Vandalism doesn’t bother me but my town is a total mess, not designed in the least. Between my hospitalization last summer to managing school/illness this year I haven’t had time or energy to redesign. I used to visit people daily but now I mostly visit during events, although after reading your comment, I may set aside a day a week I sit down and just do my visiting (at minimum). So I guess what I’m trying to say is that I’d love to have you as a neighbour and to see your town, but I know your spots are rare and want you to fill them with the best fit for you 🙂
Anyone know where in Inventory are the Chalk Lines stored? I’m putting them all under my Staircase to nowhere and can’t seem to find them.
