Just popping in with a reminder that the Wild West Event ends today…May 30th. Looks like the timer will wind down at 8pm EDT…so it’s got a bit of an odd end time.
BUT just because the timer is running out doesn’t mean the Wild West will immediately leave your Springfield. It will take an App Store Update to remove the Wild West from our towns. And it’s likely that update won’t hit until Tuesday..
This DOES mean that you will want to make that final push to gather up all the things you want from the Event before it goes with the Event.
As far as what is going to happen AFTER the Event… well, we can’t know… until it is over. Lol. Until then all we can do is speculate. So, patience. We all have to verify what happens after together.
Now as far as to what is going with the Event, here is a brief rundown…
- Questlines linked directly to the progression of the Event will go. Like the Main Questlines that pulled you through all 3 Acts.
- However, the questlines linked directly the the prizes you’ve won (or character you purchased) will remain. (so Gummy Joe, Buck McCoy etc)
- The event removal will require an app store update to fully remove it from your game. So don’t panic when the timer runs down and the event isn’t out of your game… It will require an app store update to remove everything. Usually those hit around 1-2pm (EDT)
I know some of you still try to push that last few minutes of collection as far as you can. If you turn OFF the auto update feature in your App Market, you may give yourself an extra day or so… just know that ANY time after the 30th is borrowed time and you are doing so at YOUR OWN RISK. EA can force the update at anytime after and make you update. So use any extra time wisely and get what you need before you have to remove the Event completely.
So tap those last few bandits and relax and wait to see what EA has next in store for us.
Remember the items with timers on them will also leave our stores…so if there’s a character or item you’re thinking about buying…do it today before it’s gone!
Oh and don’t forget to get your Day 14 Bonuts from the General Store. Once the event is over you will not be able to get them….
And that’s it! Nothing to do now but sit back, relax and wait for the next big thing…

You should have at least once a year a limited sale and bring back all the special items from previous events to let people buy what the missed. Imagine the amount of items people woukd buy to finish what they started.
i’m very new to this game – i just started playing during the wild west event. so now it’s over – but what do you do with the wild west items? should you put them in storage? the buildings are still collecting money. advice please. thanks.
I would keep them out to keep earning from them. The items are yours to design with as you see fit.

I love the game, I loved the event and what I got. think EA does a great job, especially since we can play without paying anything if we want, which I don’t cause I love a lot of the premium stuff! 😉. Thanks EA and Alissa, I depend on this site a lot!
Sadly, I misread and thought I had until 9 pm EST. Sad when I logged in at 8:40 pm EST after my son’s soccer and everything was gone. I had gotten a bunch of rocks earlier in the day, but I wanted to buy a ton more for potential future design before the event ended and I missed out on that. While I realize it was my fault, I don’t like how EA timed this one 🙁 Oh, well. For once, there’s no desperate attempt to keep going, even if it is to craft more of things you already have…..just bring on the takedown already.
My daily challenge clicked in – the task is to Rile People Up at the Town Plaza – which isn’t even an option anymore. I’m hoping the update will fix that, I’m waiting to close out the task until after the update, for fear it might give me another impossible task.
All in all I thought the Wild West challenge was fun. Lots of freemium treats – and fun side activities (which I still have to complete, since I put all my effort into making event currency). Holy macaroni, so I have a bunch of rocks now! Hahaha
I had a task to tap bandits with a reward of 80 dynamite. I switched it and got a 4 hour task for Comic Book Guy that pays a donut. So I think you’re safe switching out.
Waiting to switch it out will probably result in it disappearing altogether – the casino event tasks vanished with that event takedown.
I wish this would hurry up and update on my device and just leave. I am on level 57 and need room for a hospital, a gas garage/diner thing and Lance Murdock’s pool . This Saloon is taking up too much room, I can’t store it just now but I hope that changes. I did enjoy this event but I finished Act 3 about a week ago so it just got boring. Oh and I sure won’t miss those annoying Prospector dudes 🙂
Weird time to end the event. I was expecting 8.00 am GMT, so I would have a bit of time to use up the last of my event currency making a massive rock pile, but when I logged on this morning there was nothing to buy in the store 🙁
Yea but 0800 GMT would have been, May 31st, not May 30th.
It looks like they ran it until 2359 GMT…so the full day on May 30th.
Thanks Alissa! Next time I’ll actually look at the event end time rather than simply assuming that it will be 8.00am GMT on Tuesday which was the change-over time for each of the acts. I think I got enough rocks on Sunday, but I’m sure a few more might have come in useful, considering I still had loads of event currency to spend.

The weird thing is this time they were items in the store to buy, not really crafting. So they were linked directly to the same store timers that pull premium items out of the stores. Different way of doing things, for sure.
Gutted, I was hoping to spend the last of my resources on rocks and decorations but the timer finished earlier than the usual 8am GMT. Why ‘o’ why EA would you still let us collect resources but not give us the chance to spend them before the removal update hits 🙁
0800 GMT would have been May 31st. Not May 30th.
Unless you wanted it to end at 0800 GMT on May 30th, in which case you wouldn’t have had all day yesterday….
What happened to the “surprise” gift after crafting for the three donuts? It was timed and now it’s gone.
There was no gift.
We never said there was a gift. In fact I said, many times, it’s nothing…just left over wording from Acts 1 and 2.
Lost the ability last evening to do the store trade ins. No biggie as I logged in earlier and bought oh so many rocks.
What I am upset about is today’s Daily Challenge: General Store trade ins. Hopefully once the update happens I get a different daily challenge. Or I am only one day late for my bonus donuts.
You won’t get a different challenge, no matter what happens, unless you hit the x on the Daily Challenge.
I wish I had seen this post sooner. I thought I had until midnight, at least. I spent NONE of my currency that I had worked so hard for, thinking I would buy it all at the end.
I feel like there has always been a grace period to craft but I guess his was different since the items (red rock, etc) were in the store. I had a late night at a family BBQ. Pretty poor timing to end things on a holiday. Around Seattle a lot of folks go camping over Memorial Day and don’t even have cell reception until they’re back in civilization.
What a waste of time earning all of those resources. My fault, I guess, but I feel the event would have been better to end today, Tuesday, AFTER the holiday weekend.
Sigh.

EA finally ended an event when the timer ran out.
For all of you who are talking about crafting and getting prizes on the prize track…If you collect TNT via bandits and prospectors, you can lower the donut cost of your next prize on the prize track. Also, to quote Homer, the crafting currency’s will be, “Refunded for their real world value-ZERO”. Lol, happy tapping-I’m off to blow up my town and redesign it.
What about the “coming soon ” stuff telling 1 day to wait eventhough the event ended before?
