Where Did THAT Come From – Even More Random Wild West items

In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where did THAT Come From?

Howdy and Yeehaw Cowboy and Cowgirleenos! How in tarnation are y’all doing? Liking the 2016 TSTO Wild West Event? With every new event created by the designers comes new items. This of course means the wild gang here at Addicts gets to dive in and find new critters like the outlaws they are. For this post, I checked out the wanted posters and found myself done with my bounty hunting mostly. All that was left was the dregs but I’m ever a diligent fuzzball. When it comes to finding items in the Best. Show. Ever., “I’m your huckleberry,” so I thought I’d pop in with more items. One is a direct origin and the others are just me rambling about things that remind me of them. It’s always a pleasure to ride into the deserts of the Best. Show. Ever. but I wonder if I’m starting to ramble like Homer’s dad sometimes. Anyhoo… the varmints I found this time were the Blacksmith, Covered Wagon, Frontier Cemetery, and Part & Parcel Post

First up, I gotta give a shout out to Happy Tapper who pointed out a building that looks a lot like the Blacksmith in the opening Longshot Skinner segment in “Yellow Subterfuge” (S25:E7).

Cowboy Principal Skinner Simpsons

I probably would’ve missed this one image as it wasn’t one of the origins I had on my list. The first thing I thought of for the Blacksmith though was Homer in “I’m With Cupid” (S10:E14). Definitely not a building but I always laugh at the Valentine’s Day card Homey peruses that says ”You’re one heck of a blacksmith.” Nothing says love like reminding your burly partner of their smithing skills. I also love the a–peeling and split puns on the next one.

Blacksmith Valentine Simpsons

Isn’t life punderful? Getting back on track, If we’re to believe Homer in “Helter Shelter” (S14:E5), he knows a blacksmith who pulls teeth. Not an actual appearance but there’s always the Blacksmith that Bart meets in “The Wandering Juvie” (S15:E16) when he’s on the run with Gina Vendetti. This is my guess for the origin of the new building.

Blacksmith Simpsons

The blacksmith is good at forging handcuff keys AND offers Bart romance advice.

The next item is the covered wagon.  I don’t know about you but this looks strikingly similar to Cookie’s chuckwagon in “Dude, Where’s My Ranch?” (S14:E18).

Cookie's Chuckwagon Simpsons

I really dig the Frontier Cemetery in Act Three. The first thing I thought of was the “The Fright to Creep and Scare Harms” segment in “Treehouse of Horror XIII” (S14:E1). While we don’t see a cemetery from the period, there are the graves of Billy the Kid, Frank & Jesse James, the Sundance Kid, and Kaiser Wilhelm. The segment is all about guns and violence and makes me think of some comments in the Prairie Maggie post.

Zombie William H. Bonney Billie the Kid Jesse and Frank James Kaiser Wilhelm Simpsons

I’m pretending that those zombies are who is buried in my Bloodbath Gulch area and secretly hoping for some shenanigans with them this Halloween. Next up the Part & Parcel. Honestly it seems pretty original. You know how hard it is to find something in the Simpsons about parcels? Not that hard really but the only thing I could think of was the Parcel Processing in “Who Shot Mr. Burns? (Part One)” (S6:E25).

Parcel Processing Simpsons

Also one heck of a tongue twister.  “Package to parcel processing, pronto. Profoundly pressing package of power plant profit projections for Pete Porter in Pasadena.”  I know this building has nothing to do with Burns but now I think of it as being some part of one of his many nefarious schemes.

So there you go friends. Some of my thoughts about item origins in the 2016 Wild West Event for The Simpsons Tapped Out. What are your thoughts? Got any items we haven’t covered you know the origin for and/or were wondering about? Is your Bloodbath Gulch all fancified yet? Sound off in the comments and until next time, I’m off on my faithful dewback to keep on combing the desert. I’ll find those droids.

TTFN… Wookiee out!

    • We don’t publish our user names for obvious reasons. However, if you email us with your username we’ll add you to the list we add neighbors from. It’s first come first serve…and there’s a long list of those waiting. Once we have a free spot we pull from that list.

When past events ended, I would not do the removal until I was forced to do it. There were bonuts to get, so why move on? I was ready for the removal of this event yesterday afternoon. The prospectors are just a nuisance now. I want them to go away; I’m ready for the next new and exciting thing.

PS: Is there any point in increasing my SH value? I’m hoping to get a jump on part 3 if it happens. Right now I’m at $1,365,000,000+

  7. Is the event over? I didnt get to get the bonuts or the last prize… it wont let me send people to earn stuff…

  8. Other than bragging rights, does it help to send Prospectors?
Does it help to collect Baandits fro neighbors towns?

Waiting another ~4 hours, maybe an update will occur.

  9. You mentioned me Wookie! Yeah! I thought it was obvious 🙂 Great post and I was sad and excited to see the event leave

  10. Any else get a daily challenge this morning to rile up town people but that task is no longer available?

  11. I thought that the wagon was Cookie’s chuck wagon.

  12. Is anyone else not able to complete the daily challenge for 5/31? It tries to direct me to the town plaza, but nothing happens. When I touch on the saloon icon (upper right) I get a black bar labeled “town plaza” with no options other than the exit arrow.

    • Everyone. Just x through it. (which you’ll need to do no matter what) Once the update removal hits they’ll return to normal.

  13. I can’t trade in anything. My store will not let me. Anyone else having this problem?

  14. Anyone else go into their town Plaza and it just says the name with no options? I had a daily challenge to turn in supplies and I cant. I just have a single black bar that says town Plaza and nothing else. Is this going on in other people’s games?
