It’s Chili Cook-Off time in Springfield! Gather up those Insanity Peppers and get ready to lose your mind, as we take a journey with the residents of our pocket-sized Springfields for the hottest Chili known to man!
Of course, as with all events, a questline comes with it to help move us through the ins and outs of the event…and unlock all of the prizes. As was mentioned on the rundown post this mini event is similar to the previous mini-events (like Deep Space Homer and the Fire Department), in that you’ve got to complete various tasks to unlock the prizes.
So let’s take a look at the questline to see just how to unlock all the fun chili inspired prizes and take a ride on the insanity side…

Try Insanity Mode- This is a new game that launches. Reset time is 8hrs. For me, for today anyway, it awards Pharmaceuticals for completing. Basically you have to tap tortoises in 30 seconds.
And there you have it my friends…the complete questline for Homer’s Chiliad!

has anyone tried setting corn at cletus’ farm before getting to It’s Not the Heat, It’s the Humidity Pt. 2? I just set mine, hoping it will auto-complete to allow for the growing of peppers…
You’re not required to grow the peppers. Usually it only works if you’re required to do it.
That being said, it never hurts to try…
got cletus growing peppers at the farm with the corn still growing… will be interesting to see what happens when cletus’ task is done.
I sacrificed some donuts to check…if you grow corn once you unlock the peppers task it’ll auto complete.
I am very interested in that game! Can’t wait to finish all the questlines so I can start that. So far you said we get only pharmaceuticals, is it possible it will change next time you play? Would be great if we could get donuts that way too, aldo highely doubt it, considering we already have the Maggie game. Prizes are not very attractive to me this time, only the Insanity Cauldron looks fun. Wished some of these can produce money/xp, I don’t need anymore decorations. The mini event is very fun though, this was one of the greatest episodes!!! I’m enjoying all these events we have lately (mini and full-sized ones).

Is a new crop going to be useful for this event if I’m growing corn for 76 more days?
you can’t use it if you’re growing corn. The peppers yield peppers for your prize track..so it is useful. But it’s up to you if you want to lose the 14 days of progress on the corn.
Based on them being a “prize” in the event, growing peppers is permanent? Thought it may be temporary like the roses at v-day.

Store the farm, it’ll cancel the corn
If you haven’t completed part two of the event yet, it will automatically finish your corn for you and give you the XP and money, so DON’T cancel it.

Now I just looked up the word “Chili” in Spanish is “Chile” so if I went to Chile and asked for a bowl of Chili/Chile would they think I’m crazy?

Only if the chili wasn’t hot enough, and told them your chili was chilly. 😀
People from Chile are quite sensitive about that. They use the word “Ají” instead of chile and will probably correct you if you ask for a bowl of it. 🙂
Chile with an ‘e’ refers to the various peppers. Chili with an ‘i’ is Texas style with meat (some add beans but purists wouldn’t call that Texas style).
IT sucks because i lost my tablet charger and my tablets dead so i cant play this event 🙁
Would your phone charger work to charge your tablet? My son was always taking my phone charger and I just found out that it works to charge his tablet?

I forgot mine when I was on a trip across country. Rather than experience painful withdrawl, I purchased another one. I now have two chargers, if one is good, two are better!
Do you have an available PC or Mac? Download BlueStacks, and you can use it like a normal Android device. Even if you don’t have an android tablet, you can still login to your EA account once you’ve installed Tapped Out.
I’m glad I read this because since I didn’t win the first prize yet I was wondering why the Heck Cletus didn’t have an event currency option. When you mentioned him in the first post I thought it was for him to have it instantly.
