Should I Spend Donuts On the Satellite Station?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Because all Superheroes need a sequel…Superheroes 2 has found its way into our pocket sized Springfields!  This super event hit our devices…and with it arrived a whole new Event to make us scratch our heads, and drive us slightly insane. So it’s time to break out those donuts for their super hideouts because there’s a whole store full of superhero inspired premium items!

Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Satellite Station to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding super space station to your town.

Tapped_Out_Satellite_Station

Building/Decoration: Satellite Station
Donut Price: 160 Donuts
Earns: 170 ico_cur_superheroes2_brassknuckles_lg, 75xp/4hrs (will switch to issue 2 and 3 currency when they hit)
Bonus%: Earns 4% bonus on all cash and XP
Size: 4×4.  Does float in the air though, the 4×4 is the base it’ll take up that it floats over.

Leaves stores when the Event ends, so you do have some time to decide if you want this one.

Pros:
-Earns a good chunk of event currency every 4hrs, helpful if you don’t have much time to tap
-Earns a significant bonus %
-Always animated, blades spin around
-Looks cool
-Comes with a short questline

Cons:
-Crazy expensive for what it is/does
-If you tap regularly, and do your battles daily it’s completely unnecessary

Final Thought:
Premium:
In my opinion this is a premium pass, but I know there are some of you that will buy it…because you like it.  And that’s the ONLY reason you should get this.  Because you like it.  Do not buy it because it’ll generate event currency.  You’d have to log into your game every 4hrs for that payout to be worth it.  And if you have time to login every 4hrs to clear the station…you have time to battle. (and you earn more currency with battles…)

Freemium:
Stay away.  Stay far, far away.  This is designed as a panic buy.  And as long as you are diligent with your tapping you’ll have absolutely no need for this.  So save your donuts for something better down the line…

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do.  And I can tell you I’m passing on this one.  Just not worth it to me, even if it does look cool.  Of course whatever you decide just remember this item is limited time and will be leaving our games once the event ends.  And of course, as with anything that generates currency, the sooner you buy it the more beneficial it is to you.  So if you’re thinking about getting this, do it before this weekend so it could provide the most benefit to you.

Here’s a look at the questline that comes with it:

Lasers are Forever
Pieman starts

Quimby: Citizens of Springfield, I would like to introduce Springfield’s very first satellite.
Homer: Whoa!  Does it have lasers?
Quimby: No, it doesn’t come equipped with lasers.
Lenny: No lasers?!  Now uncool is that?
Carl: Yeah, we could have destroyed Shelbyville with lasers!
Make Springfielders Protest the Lack of Lasers- x5.  12hrs, Earns $420, 100xp freemium and $600, 150xp Premium
Frink: Actually, I did install lasers, to measure gravitation waves and discover the origins of the universe…
Carl: Point them at Shelbyville!

What are your thoughts on the Satellite Station?  Have you picked it up?  Will you be?  Where have you placed it in your Springfield?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Just got this using a Mystery box token from the currently running ‘Game of Games The Sequel’ event, 4% bonus is nice!

  2. I just got the Rad Station from the spy mystery box and am hoping to get this as well too. 70 donut random items beat all the original prices, woot!

  3. I was thinking, couldn’t I just leave all my Hero’s at 3 hearts? Does the enemy heart count go up when I level up? If it did, couldn’t I “hold out” on the leveling until the game forces it? hmm…

  4. When it says generates event currencies. Does that mean the current event only, or will it generate currencies for all future events?
    Regards,

  5. I can’t agree with the having time to log in and tap a station equalling having time to battle. I’m aware some people have a ton of free time on their hands, but not everybody.

  6. first off, 160 donuts IS ridiculous for this decoration, though a bit more reasonable than the 225 that the radstation air fortress was/will be. if i weren’t bonut rich these days, it would be an easy pass. yet my newfound freedom has made this an easy purchase… what can i say, it looks cool! i may move it after the event is over, but for now i’m gonna keep it above orphan alley. as for the alley itself, it screams backlot movie set, especially with a new film studio coming, but i’m going for the neighborhood under gentrification look.

  7. Love it! It’s a great decoration!

  8. The thing I like about this item is that it floats and looks good just about anywhere. You can put it in the water even.

  9. when will there be a “Should I Spend Donuts On” for wind lad and citizen solar?

Made a maze behind my burns manor where it looks pretty cool

  11. Love this. It looks so cool think it’ll go great with the alien when I unlock it. It took me a while to notice it pays out event currency or that it had a bonus. Both pleasant surprises.

  12. My first buy just because I love how it looks. Placed with my space stuff. Love it! Never considered myself premium before ($50 once a year) but now, maybe I am… Love looking at it in my town. However, I do wish it had been a touch cheaper.

  13. Did anyone get a message on their phone get cyborg snake & get a character? Or something close to this?

    • My message was “Get Cyborg Snake on the prize track today.” I think it was just a reminder saying that he was available. Scared me thinking I was behind on the brass knuckles calendar, but I checked here just right now and I’m actually ahead. Just a random “Puuush Notificaaaation” IMO..

  14. SO let me do some math for you.

    80-90 donuts per building

40 donuts for 2% (is a good purchase)

So what you are getting is 160-170 donut item.

Im sure in the end it will generate $$ on a 4 hour bases? right?

  15. Well, I thought about it and pulled the trigger yesterday. I think it looks pretty cool and you can place it over water. I have it next to Burns Summer Mansion now, for convenience. After the event it’s going to fit great near my Space Shuttle/NARA zone!

  16. What about those items that have less than 3 days to purchase? The store for example.

  17. Your review/reason is missing that it would help earn bonuts, right? I know it costs 160…so you’d just be “paying” for the satellite…but, still, it’s not just for those without much time.

I thought it looked cool, and liked how it floated, when I first saw it, but I’m still struggling considering getting it. The sooner I get it the more helpful it is.

But now I’m looking at it and it might be too big and too high… dunno.

    • BUT…it’s hard to justify spending 160 donuts to earn a few free ones. You’re better off XP farming…

      • I only meant that it’s a factor amongst others… That 4% would help a little with XP farming, too. So, doing both bonuts and XP farming, is it more of a factor or still irrelevant? The main factor is of course having an interest in the item itself regardless, which I do.

    • To quote Sheriff Buford T. Justice, “oh, you can think about it…but don’t do it!”

Or, if you really want it, get it. It’s just really expensive.

      • That’s the consensus? Too expensive? Sam regretted his purchase. Hmm. I wonder if there will be another upcoming event currency producing item that will be a more obvious must-buy.

        • It’s too expensive for me. It does look cool and I like that you can put it over water…but, yeah, the price. 😕

          • But is it too expensive to “splurge” on? Because I realize it’s too expensive in general, which is why I haven’t bought it yet, but sometimes ya gotta splurge. lol

    • The no shadow thing kinda bugs me.

  18. Anyone have pictures of it being placed in Springfield? I like the idea of having a futuristic Satellite, but it just seems so useless…

  19. I think they should have gone at least a few lines further:

    * Make Springfielders vote to redeploy the satellite *
// Satellite redeployed to direct lasers at Shelbyville //
    // Meanwhile, in Shelbyville… //
(nighttime, crickets chirping… and a stray cat chasing a red laser dot in a field)
    Lenny: Well, that was disappointing.
    * Make Springfielders be disappointed in lasers… *

    • their questlines are always so short and cut off so abruptly. i’m never sure if i’ve actually reached the end or not.

  20. Its annoying that when you tap on the satellite it takes you down to the stem of the satellite (the stem!) I eventually got it but I wasnt happy with the purchase! Way too expensive for a “building” and I was expecting some cool laser animation when tapped but it did nothing 🙁

    • Thanks for pointing that out. I tapped it at a neighbors, but I didn’t notice that. Maybe I was zoomed out just the right amount. But that does sound annoying. I’m going to visit a neighbor and try it again.

  21. Josephine Kick@$$

Had to have it😊 Way too cool😍

  22. Can you place it over the sea or has it got to be over land? 4×4 is small but still can be a pain to give up for a floating object…

  23. kingzhabit985

  24. will there be should I buy for wind lad and that solar dude?
