Superheroes Sequel 101: Burns’ Summer Mansion (Issue 1)

Kim was kind enough to offer her help once again for the Superheroes Sequel Event.  She’s written up the ins, the outs and everything in between that you need to know about Burns’ Summer Mansion.  Enjoy and thanks again for the help Kim!

Hididely-ho there, neighborinos!  Our Superhero Sequel is in full swing in Springfield and we know you have questions.  Fear not, intrepid citizen!  We are here to help you out and give you all the inside information.  Without further ado, and no John-Williams’-style fanfare, here is the breakdown on Burns’ Summer Mansion!  (How many houses does that guy have, anyway?)

Burns'_Summer_Mansion base

Building/Decoration:  Burns’ Summer Mansion
Price:  Free
Earns: ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg and ico_cur_superheroes2_brassknuckles_lg /4hrs – amounts vary based on characters sent
Size:  15×12
Conform-O-Meter:  Indolence +10

Once you have worked through the following questlines:  Prelude 1 & 2, Orphan Alley 1-3, Who’s the Boss Now? 1-3, Training Day Part 1, you will be prompted to build Burns’ Summer Mansion, which is free.  If you’re not sure where you are in the questline, head over to the Turbo Tappin’ Superheros 2: Issue 1.

Once the mansion is built, you will see the following pop-up:

2016-06-14 20.57.33

Square inches (ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg) are what you will earn in order to upgrade the mansion and increase your tapping radius when you tap the criminals lurking in your towns.  This means that the larger your tapping radius is, the more criminals you can clear in one tap.  Each level increases your tapping radius by 1 square “inch” (or square – it’s not actually inches, folks).

Basically, you send certain heroes and villains to the mansion and you will be able to earn event currency (brass knuckles,ico_cur_superheroes2_brassknuckles_lg ) and square inchesico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg,  – similar to, but less complicated than, the Town Plaza during the Wild West event.

Who can I send to Burns’ Summer Mansion?

Character Task Earns
Pie Man Eat 50 Year Old Snacks 2ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg 6ico_cur_superheroes2_brassknuckles_lg
Fallout Boy Scrub the Floors with a Toothbrush 2ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg 6ico_cur_superheroes2_brassknuckles_lg
Clownface Blow Dust off Surfaces 2ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg 6ico_cur_superheroes2_brassknuckles_lg
The Collector Duct Tape the Windows 2ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg 6ico_cur_superheroes2_brassknuckles_lg
Cyborg Snake Eliminate Vermin 2ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg 6ico_cur_superheroes2_brassknuckles_lg
Old King Coal Boss People Around 2ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg 6ico_cur_superheroes2_brassknuckles_lg
Citizen Solar Install Solar Panels 4ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg 12ico_cur_superheroes2_brassknuckles_lg
Wind Lad Blow off Spider Webs 4ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg 12ico_cur_superheroes2_brassknuckles_lg

So, freemium characters earn 2ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg, 6ico_cur_superheroes2_brassknuckles_lg  and premium characters earn 4ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg, 12ico_cur_superheroes2_brassknuckles_lg

How do I send my characters to the mansion?
You tap on the mansion, which will have a ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg floating above it when characters are available for tasks:

And you will see this window:

2016-06-14 21.12.24

Tap “Start” to send your characters on tasks at the mansion.  You will not be able to tap directly on the characters in your towns to send them to the mansion; these tasks only appear in the mansion’s menu.

What are ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg for?
Square inches (ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg) increase your tapping radius for tapping the criminals in your town.  When you first begin the event, you will only be able to tap 1 criminal per square.  You use the ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg to upgrade the mansion and increase your tapping radius by one.

2016-06-18 21.42.24

What does upgrading do?
Not only does upgrading the mansion increase the tapping radius, it also increases the size of the mansion.  When you upgrade to Level 5, you receive the West Wing of the Mansion:

Burns'_Summer_Mansion_West

Level 15 gives you the East Wing (complete Mansion):

Burns'_Summer_Mansion_full

You are able to change the façade to whichever your favorite is.

2016-06-18 21.44.40

How much does upgrading cost?
Each level costs 6 ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg more than the previous one.  It’s already at level one.  So, level 2 costs 6ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg , level 3 costs 12ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg, level 4 costs 18ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg, etc.  For those of you who, like me, love tables, here you go:

Level Cost Earns
1 None
2 12ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg +1 Tapping Radius
3 18ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg +1 Tapping Radius
4 24ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg +1 Tapping Radius
5 30ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg +1 Tapping Radius and West Wing
6 36ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg +1 Tapping Radius
7 42ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg +1 Tapping Radius
8 48ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg +1 Tapping Radius
9 54ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg +1 Tapping Radius
10 60ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg +1 Tapping Radius
11 66ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg +1 Tapping Radius
12 72ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg +1 Tapping Radius
13 78ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg +1 Tapping Radius
14 84ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg +1 Tapping Radius
15 90ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg +1 Tapping Radius and East Wing
16 96ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg +1 Tapping Radius

How long should I keep upgrading?
You really don’t need to upgrade the mansion past level 15.  By that point, you’ll have a large tapping radius for capturing criminals and will have fully upgraded the mansion with both wings.  However, there is no harm in upgrading past that point.  In fact, there will be no other use for the ico_cur_superheroes2_squareinches_lg, so you may as well use them.  From what we have been able to see, there is no maximum level.

Once I’m done upgrading, should I keep sending characters there?
YES!!!
By sending characters to the mansion on tasks, you are also earning event currency; for Issue I that is brass knuckles (ico_cur_superheroes2_brassknuckles_lg). This is an easy and guaranteed way to earn event currency every four hours.  Even if you aren’t interested in upgrading the mansion and increasing your tapping radius, send your characters to earn event currency and (once you are done with the Issue I prize track) BONUTS.  Woo-hoo!

Personally, I am also ignoring new character quests until the event is over so I can continue to send them to the mansion.  This way I can earn my prizes faster and maximize the Bonut round.  The character quests (like those for Cyborg Snake, Old King Coal, Citizen Solar, and Wind Lad) will still remain for a while after the event is over, so sending them to the mansion instead of on their individual questlines is a good strategy.

And that, friends and heroes, is the full breakdown of Burns’ Summer Mansion!

What do you think of Burns’ Summer Mansion?  Where have you placed it in your Springfield?  Questions we neglected to answer?  Thoughts on the Event?  Enjoying yourself thus far?  Sound off in the comments below; you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Burns’ summer mansion and also the Homerlayas keep resetting themselves to their original state (no wings and only Homer, respectively). I have not noticed this with any other buildings or decorations where I can choose façades, only those two. Is there a known solution or do I just have to live with that I need to change back the façades every other or third day (or something like that, I have not been keeping track)?

    • All I know is that people have reported those items switching when they play the Homer chili game. Couldn’t hurt to make a forum topic if you liked.

    • It happens every time you play the chili cauldron. It also resets the player’s tower we got from the casino event, which is the change that bugs me the most.

We’ll just have to hope that EA fixes this in a future update.

      • Oh I never noticed the tower until now. I had a break from TSTO in the beginning of the year and came back in the middle of the casino event so I didn’t manage to level up the tower fully. It’s the Homerlayas that annoys me most.

Will the mansion be able to be upgraded over the entire event, or will it stop at the end of phase 2 (tomorrow)?

  3. How do I place the mansion? Do I need to place it in a certain spot? I have an open spot but I can’t place it.. Finding it difficult to move forward 😕

  4. Never mind. I mean the collider, not comic book guy. False alarm. I can send comic book guy.

  5. My collector won’t go dust off the windows?

  6. I thought it was “type-o”? Or is that a typo, too?

  7. Thanks for the info. I personally think the mansion looks great standard, so if I fail to reach level 15 it won’t bother me much…

  8. Thank you so much for the advice about waiting to finish new character quests! It was driving me crazy. Well, I’m off to maximize bonuts with a clear head thanks to you. ☺

  9. Nice column Kim. Thanks and please continue the guest writing.

Has anyone had issues collecting squares from the mansion? I’ve had my mansion for several days but it never actually generates squares. It doesn’t bother me too much that my tapping radius isn’t expanding however I am not able to send anyone there for tasks. I’ve logged out and back in, no luck. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the game, no luck.

    • Are you tapping the mansion directly and sending them via the menu that pops up? It’s the only way to earn square inches.

      • slkeke5353540

I think I’ve got it now. For what ever reason when i was trying to send people before (by tapping on the mansion) it kept giving me an error message. It FINALLY worked. Thanks!

  11. I have been hesitant to move Burns Manor to Springfield Heights because it’s in a location I’ve been happy with for the three years I’ve been tapping, so I’m glad our favorite billionaire now has a summer mansion I can add to the Heights district. It’s a building I won’t be storing after the event ends.

  12. New banner! Squeek! LOL 🙂 Thanks AA (Amazing Alissa)

  13. I cant send the heroes from previous event to the mansion. What could be the problem?

    • Did you read the list of who you can use? It’s not everyone from the previous event…only Clownface, Pie Man, The Collector and fallout Boy

    • Not sure if you’ve gotten to the 24 hour task for sequel squad to lay low,,,you can send colossus,,radioactive man & collide to do it there .

      • Only for that task. So don’t send your regulars on thr 24 hour task. Sent the irregulars.

  14. Is anyone else having a bug where the mansion’s facade keeps reverting to the original. I’ve unlocked the west wing, but every time I set the facade to west wing, the next time I go to the mansion, it’s back to displaying the original.

    • Yep, me too. Very annoying.

      tonflo1

    • I’ve noticed for sure that it happens after I play the insanity pepper game. Not sure yet on any others causes.

    • I think I’ve figured out the culprit. It’s the Insanity Cauldron that’s doing it. Every time I play Insanity Mode, it resets the skin on my Burn’s Summer Mansion. I noticed that it also happens to my Players Tower from the casino event. It gets reset to its base skin too.

    • Yes it does this to me too. Burns Mansion and the Players Tower. Thank you for posting about it. It has been driving me crazy. Just like no beer and no TV…

  15. Nice post Kim, but you might want to fix the typo for Clown Face’s task (it made me laugh though, the urban spelling of something) 🙂

  16. Will the reviving juice run in the following acts? I am hoarding it for when I am hard pressed for time. Will get King Coal tomorrow morning. Can’t wait for bonuts round.

  17. Love the new banner, by the way!! Thanks for the continued posts helping us with this event. It’s pretty massive and has loads going on, so it’s certainly no small task.

  18. cinthiafer260

Sweet! I never know when to stop updating lol! I’m def. going to keep sending people there to get more knuckles! I’ve already gotten all the prizes and we still have six days until the end of act 1, BONUTS here I come :0) I need as many as I can get because there are a lot of upcoming cool things that are premium!

  19. Sorry I know this is unconnected but ….
I cannot connect to the game , not even pass the first screen shot to login , am I on my own ?
Yes I’ve deleted and re downloaded .
    Anything else ?

    • Thou probably need to free up more space/memory on your device…this game is a major memory and space hog!

  20. Is there any indication that you’ll be able to get additional mansion upgrades in part 2 and 3? I just noticed the mansion has a foundation outline that the east and west wing only partially fill out.

  21. Hey there,
I think I found a issue here. In your list about the Level up the Burns’ Summer Mansion you say: in each new level you need 6 more “Square inches”. I already have now a level 5 Mansion but for level 6 I need 36 “Square inches”. In your list you say I need to upgrade up to level 6, just 30 “Square inches”.
Do you “offset” or do I understand it wrong?

    • No it’s a typo

    • Which is six more than the 30 you needed to upgrade from level four to level five. So it’s not six in total that you need; it’s six more than you needed to collect to earn the prior upgrade. Hope that makes sense.

  22. Will Square Inches be used, or even available, in Act 2?
And I know the brass knuckles disappear after act 1, but what about the comic books? Once I’ve crafted the four prizes ( bookshop, car, statue, and Lucite container), should I start stockpiling band-aids, or hoard comic books for the next act?

    • Yes…and more characters will have tasks there. Trading cards will remain for all 3 issues

      • Thank you. Yes, I meant Trading Cards, not comic books. I haven’t used a lot of band-aids, because I have enough heroes to fight three battles, and they all heal on their own by the time the next felons spawn in 4 hours.
So… I’ll craft the four unique items, and hoard the rest of the trading cards until Act 2.

  23. Interesting addition. I do the quests though it seems to go by quickly enough.

  24. **spoiler alert** Once you have Old King Coal and are into the bonuts rounds, you can use the task in the task manager to take you directly to where the criminals are – no need to go hunting for them. A neat trick I discovered today.

    • Cool, that’s happened in some previous events, and I was really hoping it would here; some of those little buggers are hard to find!

      • I found one walking on the ocean. He was the last one in my town at that point, no wonder it took me so long to find him!

  25. I love the design of this building! Many tappers know my love of design so I can’t wait to make my mansion area! 🙂 Thanks for the rundown AA! Really helpful 🙂
