Superheroes Sequel 101: Issue 1 Crafting

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Because all Superheroes need a sequel…Superheroes 2 has found its way into our pocket sized Springfields!  This super event hit our devices…and with it arrived a whole new Event to make us scratch our heads, and drive us slightly insane.  😉

And on that insane note, let’s talk about everyone’s favorite topic….CRAFTING!

Love it or hate it, EA has proven over the last year + that crafting is here to stay.  While the prizes themselves are pretty self explanatory, collect this to earn these prizes, crafting is a whole other “animal”.  Crafting requires some self direction.  You decide what you want and collect the items to craft accordingly.  Sometimes this is successful and sometimes it’s not. And, as with all things, for some events crafting is easier than others.  Luckily for us, this event crafting is pretty simple and straight forward.  EA has really fine tuned their message for this event..

Now I know some of you still have questions about what to craft, if you should wait or craft now and what will happen in future Issues of Superheroes 2…so as we’ve done in the past, we’re here to breakdown all the crafting fun for you guys.  So let’s take a look at the complete guide to Crafting in Issue 1…

2016-06-14 16.03.54

Now because I know there are some of you who really don’t like to read…and will simply scroll down this post to the comment section and ask a question that was answered in this post…I’m going to give the quick, important, frequently asked bullet points.  And I’m hoping by sticking them in BOLD letters they’ll get the scrollers attention…

-Issue 1 Craftables LEAVE When Issue 1 Ends. So craft what you want from Issue 1, because when Issue 1 is over…they’re GONE.  (Don’t say I didn’t warn you..heck even EA warns you)

Trading Cards are the ONLY Crafting Currency for the event.  So unless EA adds something else, keep collecting Trading Cards because they’ll be used for Issues 2 and 3 as well

-ALL Crafting Items (with the exception of Band-Aids) are UNIQUE.  So you can only have 1 of each.

Ok so..there are the three key things to know about crafting.  Hopefully the skimmers will pick up on that.  Otherwise anyone want to place bets has to whether or not someone will ask one of those questions in the comments? 😉

Anywho…for those of you still reading…let’s break it all down.  As always we’ll start with the basics…

How Do I Access the Crafting Menu?

Just like every other event the Crafting Menu is accessible via the Event Hub.

ico_mhub_superheroes2_prizetrack

The Pie Trophy is your Event Hub icon.  Click it and you’ll access the Event Hub area for this event:

From there you want to find the crafting Icon, second one down no the left, that looks like this:

Tap on it and that’ll bring up your Crafting Menu (Also known as The Collector’s Shop):

What’s the Crafting Currency for Issue 1?

The crafting currency for Issue 1 is trading cards..

indicator_superheroes2_tradingcards

How Do I Earn Trading Cards?

criminalburglar_crab_walk_front_image_4

As of right now Trading Cards can be earned 3 ways…

Via tapping Criminals (either in your town or your friends town)

Or

Via the Social Prize Track (and that won’t be until Issue 2 or 3)

Or

Via Daily Tasks. (remember these are random…)

So really, for Issue 1 your only way of continually earning the cards is by tapping Criminals. (since Daily Tasks are random and you never know when it’ll popup for you)

Which is why it may seem slow going to earn the cards.

You earn 2 indicator_superheroes2_tradingcards for every criminal you tap, in your town or your neighbor’s town. (And it is on a sliding scale.  Checkout the neighbor post for more) Unless you have the sequel squad membership, then you’ll earn double.  (but only when tapping them in neighbor’s towns…as the membership does not apply to your own town.

Will Trading Cards Carry Over to Issues 2 and 3?  Or Should I Stop Collecting them?

ico_superheroes2_tradingcards_pack2

As of right now Trading Cards are the ONLY Crafting Currency for the entire Event.  Which means every item will require Trading Cards…and this carries over to Issues 2 and 3.

So continue to collect those cards even if you’re done crafting for Issue 1 because it’ll help give you a head start on Issue 2 Crafting…

Keep in mind EA could change this at any time.  This is only what I see at this time….we’ll have a new crafting post for Issues 2 and 3, which will explain any changes EA might make.

How Do I Craft?

If you have enough Trading Cards for an item you’ll see this icon under the item:

ico_hub_exclamationmarkicon_comic

Which means you can craft it, as you have enough resources for it.

Once you’ve collected enough Trading Cards for the item you want simply open up your Collector’s Shop and hit the Get Now Button under the item:

I’ve Already Crafted The Collector’s Car (or any other decoration for Issue 1) but I want another one.  Why Won’t It Let me Get A Second One?

Because each item for crafting is unique (at least for Issue 1).  Which means, you can only have 1 in your town.

So now that we’ve covered the basics…let’s break down each item available for crafting..

Note: i’m excluding the Band-Aids here because we all know what they do by now, and I’ve advised several times not to spend your resources on them.  Just say no 😉

ico_priz_superheroes2_lucitecontainer_lg

Item: Lucite Container
Cost: 335indicator_superheroes2_tradingcards
Size: 3×3
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +100
Unique: Yes, only 1 per Springfield
What Does It Do?: It’s a decoration.  It’ll bubble..but that’s about it.  Nothing overwhelmingly amazing about it.
Should I Craft?: If you have the resources you should get it, but this is low on my priority list for Issue 1 Crafting. So wait until you’ve gotten the other items then go for this one.

ico_priz_superheroes2_collectorlucitestatue_lg

Item: Collector Lucite Statue
Cost: 785indicator_superheroes2_tradingcards
Size: 3×3
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +100
Unique: Yes, only 1 per Springfield
What Does It Do?: It’s a decoration.  Just sits there and looks pretty.  Nothing too glamorous about it.
Should I Craft?: If you have the resources you should get it, but this is low on my priority list for Issue 1 Crafting. So wait until you’ve gotten the other items then go for this one. (I’d prioritize this over the Lucite Container)

ico_priz_superheroes2_collectorscar_lg

Item: The Collector’s car
Cost: 965indicator_superheroes2_tradingcards
Size: 6×3
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +100
Unique: Yes, only 1 per Springfield
What Does It Do?: It’s a decoration. From what I saw, no animation to it (even when tapped).  This may change…but for now it just looks cool, that’s about it.
Should I Craft?: This is number 2 on my list of Issue 1 items to craft.  So focus on getting this second….always love another car for Springfield!

ico_priz_superheroes2_springfieldbooks_lg

Item: Springfield Books
Cost: 2,410indicator_superheroes2_tradingcards
Size: 3×10
Build Time: 4hrs
Conform-O-Meter: Consumerism +10
Earns: $90,10xp/4hrs
Unique: Yes, only 1 per Springfield
What Does It Do?: It’s a building, so it’ll generate income for you.  Also comes with a short questline.
Should I Craft?: This is, in my opinion, the best item of Issue 1 crafting.  So focus on this one first.  After you’ve gotten the Book Store move onto the other items.

So you’ll need 4,495indicator_superheroes2_tradingcards to get everything that Issue 1 crafting has to offer.  That’s a lot of criminals to tap!  The good news is you still have a week to work on it!   Don’t get discouraged and just keep Tappa Tap Tap Tappin’! 🙂

Remember…Issue 1 Crafting Items LEAVE When Issue 1 Is Over, on June 28th.  So craft everything you want BEFORE Issue 1 Ends (on June 28th) or you’ll miss out!

And that my friends is the complete rundown for Issue 1 Crafting!

What are your thoughts on Issue 1 Crafting?  Which prizes do you like the best?  Have you crafted any yet?  Thoughts on collecting trading cards?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Looking forward to crafting guide for issue 2. 🙂

  2. Boy if I only had a couple more days. You know, like maybe the two days the event had already been going on BEFORE they pushed the update to me even though I play tsto every day. I’m 10,000 short of Old King Cole, but I didn’t purchase premiums nor have previous event fighters on Day 1 (Day 3 in my case). Oh well, I’m just going to hope that cards and band aids carry over as I’m skipping battles today.

    (Sprint Galaxy Tab 4)

    • They rarely “push” major events right away…you should follow this site (or another TSTO site), so you know as soon as a new event hits and you can go and download it from your app store. (Or, if you know it’s getting to be around the time for a new event to launch, just check your app store for updated periodically throughout the day.)

Lesson learned for next time, right? 🙂

  3. Building – Springfield Books – is a no brainer! I’m very reluctant to craft a decoration unless it’s going to increase my % of XP (EA gave us more land expansion, but still has a cap on the maximum decoration allowed — and they really need to increase the amount of decoration, please!)

  4. What are the odds of trading cards being used for issue 2 prizes? I’m not really excited about any of these prizes so am thinking of saving them for issue 2 . . .

  5. My questions were answered by reading all the above posts. I completed my last crafting this morning, so now I’m just gonna bank trading cards for the next issue. If they were going away, I’d stock up on bandaids, but since I have been using the lose a few, then win strategy, I don’t really need to use bandaid. So far a great event, very enjoyable. Made even more so by all the info that you guys provide to help navigate!

  6. The order I crafted them was Lucite Vat (cheapest), CBG statue (coolest), book store (most practical) and the car (boring). And the day after I crafted the last prize, my daily challenge was to craft a prize for donuts lol. So I crafted some bandaids.

I got Old King Coal yesterday morning with just regular play. Wasn’t losing a bunch of times and then winning each battle like some people are doing. While it’s a clever strategy I don’t think it’s necessary, EA wouldn’t make it that complicated. As long as you have a lot of fighters you should be easily winning each battle without bandaids. The energy drinks come in handy though.

    • ITA that the “losing” strategy isn’t necessary to achieve all of the prizes, but, by achieving them sooner, you get to play more bonut rounds. At 10,000 brass knuckles a go, starting early, and earning significantly more brass knuckles each day, really makes a difference, I think.

  7. I caved and got the car before the building. I was just going to cave and get the statue now.. but I will wait for the building. I agree the building is definitely more worthwhile.

I’ve been waiting for this post! I wanted to know if they were unique! I found out the car was after crafting for it.. I was disappointed. Would have been nice if the lower level items, at least, were not unique.

Prizes are alright. I’m happy there’s a building and a CAR in the mix! Can’t get enough of those!

  8. I’ve already crafted the bookstore, car, and statue- but I am waiting til the last day of Issue 1 to craft the lucite container just in case I get the Daily Challenge of ‘craft an item’ within the next 5 days.
We’ll see how many trading cards I can save up going into Issue 2, I’m excited for what’s to come…

  9. The crafting items this issue is meh. Nothing spectacular IMO… there’s usually at least one thing where I’m excited to save up for to get, but nothing this round….
